Det var värre det året när dem hade färglada lampor istället för ljus. DÅ blev jag arg! Blåa band är helt ok tycker jag (blodet är ju trots allt även blått), men inget slår ju de traditionella röda.

I'm just wondering why they have blue sashes? They have ALWAYS been red so why be so special and change it? I understand that you can do that when you are performing at a certain company and then use "their" colors just as a special thing for that specific company.. but at church? People here in Linköping would get terribly upset anyway if we had any other color than red:P

It is an old Pagan tradition in Sweden. To celebrate that the nights are getting shorter and the hope for light to come back. When Sweden had to convert to Christianity people insisted on keeping the tradition but they had to find a Christian Saint to celebrate not to anger the Church.

The reporter is just a little bit dim to say Lucia first appeared in 1800. This tradition has been traced back to first appear in local villages more than 2000 years back.

Che sopresa! Hanno anche cantato "Santa Lucia" in Italiano. Che belle femmine...sembrano e cantano come angeli. Sembra che la festa di Santa Lucia e piu apprezzata in Svezia che in Italia.
