I've seen where on any given day, 90+ percent in patient care has public/free care or illegal care. The other 2-10% have health insurance. The total abuse in medicaid is crazy. Regarding malpractice insurance, Red--I actually have had that same view before.
But I can't seem to be able to put a limit on someone's lost life--what they could have lived if some negligent company or person hadn't maimed them.
There is no cut-and-dry solution, and these things do need to be looked at on a case-by-case basis (as they are in court).
Like anyone, lawyers are out to make as much money as they can--capitalism in its purest sense. You should love that! :)

I have to actually agree,Tax. I think that Obama would agree too--I have never seen him shy away from opposition, and I admire how he seems to want open dialogue.
But I also think that our society knows too little about their government and how it works. I think that people should really try to find out about issues, by collecting data and really researching the issues they are passionate about.
Economics should be a prerequisite to getting out of high school.

We are paying for illegal aliens hospitalizations now, but they are not the reason why health care is spiraling. NOT every illegal alien is hospitalized; in fact, a very very tiny percentage is. More and more of our own citizens do not have health care-don't blame it on illegal aliens when countless thousands upon THOUSANDS of our own citizens don't have health insurance which apparently is no problem with you Palin lovers. Maybe you continue to sympathize with these people who steal our services also called healthcare and somehow feel it is a right to have it - wrong. I've seen illegal healthcare cause layoffs due to the care provided continued to increase because it can be quite expensive, at my facility the care of one illegal cost in excess of 3 million and you call that "tiny" . . . you liberal political hack!

If you work in health care like you allege, you should know the majority of the uninsured are Americans - illegal alien patients are quite rare compared to Americans with NO insurance-common. Diabetes and high cholesterol are national epidemics so goes with it heart diseases and strokes... I AM seeing more and more "cash accounts" which means the health facility gets no money, and don't be surprised soon hospitals, which are a business, will shut their doors. To Clarify-- Illegal alien patients in HOSPITALS are rare compared to UNINSURED Americans in hospitals, which is becoming more and more common place. Of those illegal aliens hospitalized, the facility MUST treat them *NOW* under the current system, so health care reform is irrelevant referring to your ignorant argument. Each uninsured American-each one-can cost the hospital hundreds of thousands of dollars,even a million in some cases.

I've seen where on any given day, 90+ percent in patient care has public/free care or illegal care. The other 2-10% have health insurance. The total abuse in medicaid is crazy. You want to fix healthcare? Start with fixing medicaid - begin with giving those who actually need help the help they deserve. The other scabs - kick them off and tell them to get to work. Why should anyone under 50 receive medicaid, it's called a job - thats your welfare. I live in Texas, home to illegals!!
