Canon T2i Review. Best Camera I've ever owned!

i just bought the camera, and i am trying to put it on video mode and its not working, can someone please help me? when i press the record button the screen with CA in a box comes up. Which i have no idea what it means. It is my first time owning this type of camera

@forellana88 Ok, when you're doing that, you're putting it into LiveView mode. From there, what you do is swivel the dial on top until it's on video (shape of a camcorder) then, try and press the record button. I hope that works for you! I actually don't own one of these at the moment, but I've played with them so many times at BestBuy that I know how to do almost anythink on it. :P

@AllUnitedGeeks well on amazon this camera is availible for 600 dollars. However the fact that you asking for a 400 dollar version of this camera kinda tells me that you might not be ready for the DSLR field of cameras. just do a little more research and find out if you actually need a DSLR.

@AllUnitedGeeks Nahh you'll have no hope unfortunately. You can get this camera for about £320-350 (not sure what that is in dollars) on eBay for an unboxed one but it usually won't come with a lens at that price and there is no point in buying a DSLR if you're going to buy a $20 lens...

@TheVidKidd I have the T2i myself and would actually recommend it over the T3i. I was speaking with a tech about it and he was actually telling me that the T2i is the better camera.

@Brenniman65 Yeah, no, it's not a better camera than the T3i. I work at a camera shop and I can tell you the specs are roughly equal. T3i adds a built in wireless flash trigger, and flip out lcd. Image quality on t3i is a bit superior as well.

One of the other draws to a DSLR for video purposes is the fact that you can get a very shallow depth of field, which helps create that professional look it your shots. Gonna pick one of these up soon!

Great review. Understandable, unlike some others. Anyhow, at the end of your vid you kind of downplayed the video capability of this camera; you mentioned that is good if using in short clips. My question is, how much video can the camera shoot? And isn't the amount of vid determined my the amount of memory one has in a SD card. Or does this camera not accept SD cards?

About 15 mins. And great range of formats. heck online. Though the new new T3i is all that and more, of course. Though T2i is AWESOME!

But really, its the lenses that count in the end. You can have the best camera out there but still be shit with crap lenses. After you get T2i, worry about getting better lenses. and a lot of memory and batteries.

And about your editing software... i think that After Effects it not a editing soft, it only is a effect (as it name said) soft. And one of my favorite edit soft for edit it´s Adobe After Premiere CS3. I think is the same that de Final Cut Soft for Mac.

@thodorisgiannakopoul I am a Nikon user but I'll suggest you to get the canon dslr because canon dslr's make really nice video. The benefit of using dslr for video is that you could try different lens, fisheye, telephoto, etc. Don't go for video camera. dslr with a good quality lens 2.8 or less would be perfect for you. PLUS, you could take some great pictures with the same camera.

@PhotographersOnUTube You heard right but the 12 minutes is just the continuous time. Just like the camcorder, people pause and record all the time. Now if you want to put the camera on tripod somewhere and record for 20 minutes, then yes, you'll have a problem. In that case you'll need like D7000 that can record 20 minutes straight. So it all depends on what your needs are.

@val2zs Only if you are primarily doing DSLR video. For straight up still photography, just stick with the t2i. It's almost the identical camera as the newly announced t3i aside from the flip out monitor. I think there may be a couple of minor white balance additions as well.
