  • That vapor trail is neat as hell.

  • I also never seen or heard or SAID "a smooth bore holds tight groups at 200 yrds". I am just asking where is your 2 inch group? On the video I can see only a target (appr. 12X15 inches) hit by 3 shots. And this very ordinary even by smooth bore.

I will be glad to see the result of your shoots if you can support the clip with a close-up view or marking the hits etc.

  • I can not understand what is extraordinary here? You are shooting a sabot slug, through a rifled barrel, using an optic sight. This result is very normal. Don't you see people are shooting 200 yard targets with foster slugs and smoothbores?

  • @Kuzgun56 Well Kuz.......... it's a fixed 4power scope "Pro-Diamond" made by Simmons. I've been around slug guns my whole life and I'm only 42 years old. I have never seen or heard of a smooth bore holding tight groups at 200yrds. I call 2inch groups tight over 100yrds for a slug gun. You prove to me that a smooth bore will shoot groups like that and I will retract what I'm about to say........"BULL SHIT".

  • It's rifled barrel ?

  • That's sweet justice

  • Love the video, I CAN see the vapore trail!!

  • i have a weatherby 'skull' 12 ga. maybe it's just me, but the less assistance i have in targeting, the better. 150 yds., 450 ft., equates to approx. 145.94 meters. different weapon, but the results should be similar.a frag round should be most effective @ approx. 100 yds. a good frag round will draw approx. 1 1/2" drop @ 150 yds. just my math.

  • if your looking for a really heavyweight slug of pretty close to the same concept ''big chunky and cheap'' remington makes a 3'' buckhammer that tops the scale at 1 3/8oz

  • 150 yds. seems like a little overkill, looking at your weapon.

  • @jacklazzell What do you mean by "overkill"........... how is the weapon supposed to look. Are you trying to say the gun will not preform because of the look? Help me out here. Thanks for the response.

  • @xforceguy that is awesome brother i love how far the shotgun has come and now shooting slugs out to 150yards thats just badass thanks for posting

  • I tried them but was not very impressed. They did hold a "ok" group at 100yrds maybe......6 inches at best. Still nothing compared to the Lightfield slug. I've found with my experience that you can buy two guns same make and model and use the same ammo find one may really group good and other not. Find out what your gun likes the best and stick with it. Just my opinion......thanks for the comment.

  • you ever try hornady sst? My buddy has a h&r that shoots thme very well.

  • Honestly, I don't know of any shotgun that DOESN'T like Lightfields. Amazing that such a cheap load performs so well or so many guns. Sure, there are better loads out there for long range (100 yards +) shooting with a slug gun, but they will get the job done, and nothing beats the super heavy slugs at close range. My first deer was shot at ~ 30 yards, so pretty close, but when we dressed it out we discovered that it split the liver in half, trashed both lungs, and actually removed an entire c

  • Amen.

  • @xforceguy, if you dont mind asking , where did you get the thick barrel. i have the same gun but it has the thin rifled barrel.

  • @hawkdlb06 The H&R 980 ultra 12 and 20ga. both come with heavy barrel on the gun from factory. They are by far the most accurate slug gun on the market. The trigger is a little heavy at first but gets better with time. I've found that it shoots 2 3/4" sabot slugs of any type better than the 3 inch. I notice the biggest difference when I'm shooting over 125yrds.........the 2 3/4" hold a much tighter group and much less kick. I've been able to hold many groups of 3 shots under 3 inches at 150yrds

  • nice vid, you should have recorded one shot of you shooting it. would have been nice to see what kind of kick your setup has.

  • Hell yea Thats bad ass i got a 870 with a slug barrel i tried to get it down there at 120 yards but it just cant hold the groupings and i use the 3 inch mag hybrid elite lightfields

  • @69HardcoreHunter Drop down to 2 3/4" slugs.......give it a try. They will impact a little lower but I bet you the groups are much better.

  • @69HardcoreHunter Think so they are a little cheaper on the wallet Im gunna try that for this years hunting season

  • @LITFLD Thanks, you guys make a great product. I will make a better one. I've been shooting 200yds groups that will blow your mind.........with a 2 3/4 12ga. My family owns a gun shop and would love to get to know you guys a little better.
