Its so unfortunate that due to marie-france's injury that this team couldnt do the skate off against craig and jamie (who became the winner eventually). they could have easily beat C&J if the skate off had actually happened, and the final result would have been totally different. its unfortunate.
LittleDragon, I'm from NS and voted for these two like mad :). I thought these 2 had something that the other 7 pairs didn't seem to have as much of...which was that deep emotional connection. Watch all of their 7 performances in order and you see that it just continued to grow every single week, so that by weeks 6 and 7, they were truly capable of understanding the music. I certainly hope that their friendship lasts them a lifetime because you can easily tell they truly care for each other.
These two were actually fantastic and I think they did better than the other two semi-finalist pairs.
But almost from the beginning they were getting fewer votes because They are from Quebec and most Quebcers just weren't watching an English-language broadcast
But every time the viewers put them in danger of elimination, the judges put them back in the competition. I loved Sale and Bourne - but both benefitted fantastically from block multiple voting from their hometown viewers.
These two were beautiful together, and were a real pleasure to watch. They seemed to have the best speed of any of the competing pairs. Where I think they were limited was that Marie's background is Ice Dance as an amateur, so jumps, lifts, etc were not part of the competitive routines (they are illegal for most aspects of Ice Dance). Marie & Stephane did incorporate lots of lifts, but their routines lacked some of the pairs elements that Sale/Simpson were able to build into routines.
