  • Damn the way Davis speaks is like and old grandfather rockin on his chair telling his grandkids all the great stories he has. He still has a lot of heart and kick, I love that.

The first time I came to know Davis was listening to the magical bass parts on Van Morrison's Astral Weeks, I had to know who played the bass on that album and discovered it was this great character.

Thank for posting this interview, it was great.

  • I wish I was as cool as he is.

  • enough with the bach already!

  • @jbonecar Is it me or are they worse than you'd think students of Richard Davis would be?

  • @Mikeinatorable Students of.... That is all. Students of!!!!!

  • @igotit1981 True. But they're studying with one of the biggest jazz figures in 20th century music.

  • Thanks Richard for leting the history not getting diiluited like the upcoming Texas History books. I rememebr seeing a Sony Ad promoting Kenny H as teh world's best saxophinist in Ebony magazine. The magazine should have never have run the ad and probably had gullible ignorant fools as editors who didn't even know Jazz history.Jazz is now largely ignored in the same communities that invented the music while bloodshed flows.
