  • Yeah, the video stoppages are annoying ! I guess, when the technology when this video was recorded, was not good. I think these were on VHS video.

Cricket Australia has vintage classic video's on their website, but its limited to Australian viewers only.

  • Anyone got a video of Roger Harper running out Graham Gooch in that way when Gooch came down the wicket and Harper fielded with one hand and threw down the wickets with Gooch short..

  • Its a bit peculiar highlight - when Eng is batting only the boundaries are considered as highlights, and when WI is batting then only the wkts.

Besides, the stops and start video... not really recommendable.

  • 50 off 110... wouldn't see that these days.

  • The bowlers in those days were really good..

  • why does the video always stop and run?lot of deffects in the video to the extent of unwatchable, really.i`m very dissappointed.

  • lol...i thought my laptop sucked

  • They won everything that winter. Even Botham and Lamb in the casino came out ahead.

The bowling looks easy but it might have moved around a little. The WI looked crap and not up for game unlike the previous winter.

  • Interesting that they took a WSC match to Devonport back then.

Then again back then Tasmania played their interstate home games at Devonport, Launceston and Hobat not all just in Hobart.

  • bornig boring boring

  • My Name Is Samantha Athey :]

    Maybe I'm Related To Bill!

  • Great innings from Chris Broad. His son Stuart must have been so proud of him.

  • yeah after him getting hit for 6 sixes in an over

  • Graham Gooch made a pair on debut - good cricketers can always come back from adversity. Makes them stronger in the long run

  • What? Westindies Lineup without Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes in the 80's? I cant believe!!!!

  • hello, im gladstone small and i have no neck!!

  • I met Gladstone Small in 1986 when I was 14 (six years before this match!). He has no neck. Hell of a fast bowler though.

  • I met Gladstone Small earlier tonight. Indeed, his neck is lacking the usual length.

Can we move on from this issue?

  • Fair point. Me being insensitive and pretty irrelevant. Sorry.

Lovely man. I was thrilled when I met him.

  • And I don't know what the hell I was saying about the year. It was only just after this series that Gladstone Small came to visit my school.

Again, sorry...must have been after that party I went to last month when I came home hammered and did a bit yer Youtube cricket nostalgia thing. Obviously the anaesthetised, ageing brain got stuck in '81. Must watch that.

  • My anaesthetised, ageing brain led me to be overly censorious too.

Good wine at that cricket do mind.

  • How good is this! I was at this game 20 years ago...the strongest memories being the cold and windy day, the crappy game, and those frigging trumpets...

  • Botham! He looks rough and overweight in this one, but still manages to get wickets with some dobbly medium pace! What a legend. And Gladstone Small has no neck at all!

  • Oh my giddy aunt. I type this message with the Devonport Oval right outside my office door. Those were the days

  • Yet another TOP POST from Mr(I assume) Hansen. Sincere thanks from me. Please keep 'em coming.

  • With these videos, are you cutting up the hour long highlights package?

Very good nonetheless, would love to see the whole days play! More cricket at places like Devonport is needed too.

  • awesome video. Can you please post India Matches from the 84/85 WSC. Thanks!
