wow 1997-1998 austin vs 1983-1992 hogan would it been awesome match ...people who dunno shit about wrestling criticize hogan but man hulk hogan with all his 4 moves or whatever ppl say knew how to do the most important thing in professional that matters...ENTERTAIN!!! and he did it from the 80's to the 90's till beggining of 2000..even jim ross in an interview 2 months ago said hogan is greatest sports entertainer he seen this coming from austins biggest supporter...hogan better than austin srry
The sad thing is guys...this match will probably never happen. Ever! ITS A DREAM MATCH! Like Andre vs Big Show, like Randy Savage vs Triple H, like Jesus Christ vs Chuck Norris. These matchs will never happen. Even though these matchs would settle alot of debates these matchs will never happen. This feud between Austin and Hogan will never happen. There careers are over and both of them are retired. But for all u fans Hulkamania and Stone Colds legacy lives on AND THATS THE BOTTOM LINE!
@RJARIO hogan vs austin will suck nowdays mainly cuz hogan cant hardly move how old is he like 70 lol...but if they both would it been in their primes it would it been another classic for hogan dvd and legendary career...i dont care type of person hogan is obviously hes a great name so tmz n press gn be all over his ass could care less if his young wife looks like linda or not all i care is that he entertain me better than any1 i known hes defenetly of if not the greatest of all-time
austin easy will never happen but in the sense of the biggest star the industry has ever seen it is the rattlesnake he saved it's ass and revoulutianised an entire business
it all has to do with era's and what time you watched wrestling....I watched some part of HOgan's reign near to his end in WWF but loved him in NWO. I would have to go with Austin though, the saying your prayers, taking your vitamins wasnt cutting it for me...Austin brought the 'realness' in wrestling, theres middle fingers, drinking beer, mayhem all the time. And times where changing, it was the 'FUCK YOU' generation, attitude era, so I go with Austin
@Blackflame24 yes I will agree that Austin started the Attitude era but the thing is Hulk Hogan was still doing his thing in a company that wasnt doing as well as the WWE. In fact Hogan took that company to a higher level than WWE the fact remains that Austin and The Rock had to breath life back into the WWE because the WCW/NWO was kickin ass on mondays. This was all because of Hulk Hogan.
@Legendary081 ok thats COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Pro basketball would have continued regardless if bill russell existed or not. Professional wrestling may have continued without Hogan, but very doubtful it would have continued to be main stream. Hogan made pro wrestling main stream and a pop culture phenomenon. Bill Russell did not do that with basketball.
If this happens I watch this fight against this place anywhere to anywhere grounds anywhere anywhere TV channels and even continents of the world where it will rid me just to watch hulk Hogan vs stone cold steve austin
@Budwiser221 I dont think you realize how dumb your comment was. You said Austin reigned from 98 to 01 and try to compare that to Hogans reign of atleast 2 decades lol c'mon peeps dont forget the legacy of the Immortal Hulk Hogan.
@lannysizzle13 um actually Austin reigned from 96 to 01. it may not have been known to wrestling fans at the time but when Austin won the 1996 King of the Ring is when his reign started. It was the birth of Austin 3:16 and it was the birth of the Attitude Era. and those 5 memorable years with stone cold stomp anything the WWE has today. People love Austin because he created the most memorable and fun timeline in wrestling. Everyone misses the Attitude Era, which was Austin's doing, not Hogan's.
For Fans of the their times: this would' ve been the most epic confrontation this World, let alone this industry has ever seen. The Man whom without him would never have the passion let alone know about this business & the Man who revolutionized it by giving it the swiftest kick in the ass that fans yearn for those times to return. "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan vs "The Rattlesnake" "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. I tell you, to not know the significance is to not know what this business is about...
First of all, let me say I can't stand Hulk. But without Hogan, there would be no Austin. Hulk Hogan made wrestling, love him or hate him. Him being the best of all time should not be considered an opinion...its a fact.
@ARAM0508 i dissagree, just because somebody started something great doesnt mean he has to be the greatest. Its not a fact that he is the best it most definatly is an opinion. Austin had it all great wrestling ability and had great charisma and personality. Hogan also had good personality but his in ring wrestling style sucked compared to Austin so in my opinion Stone Cold wins this debate hands down. Now thats a fact.
@eamon4800 You just said it was your opinion, idiot, thereby stating that it's NOT a fact. Only Internet smarks and Japs care about a bunch of circus-flipping lucha libre crap in the ring. The important thing is ENTERTAINING your audience and TELLING A STORY with your actions. Very few did it anywhere near as well as HOGAN.
@thetechjedi slightly disagree. the entire year before wcw went down, stone cold was not around. the rock triple h undertaker and others were holding down the fort just fine without stone cold. (i find this whole argument funny because i cant stand hulk and stone cold is hands down my favorite superstar of all time) just fyi
@ARAM0508 2000 has nothing to do with it. WCW was kicking the WWF's ass for 2 years straight, and things didn't turn around for the WWF until the Austin vs Mcmahon feud started. The Rock and HHH were riding the wave that Stone Cold created.
if austin hadn't broke his neck , he would have been #1 guy until probably 2005/6 when he would have put over the likes of Orton and Cena over a period of time.....Unlike Hogan who refused to put over talent. If Hogan broke his neck early in his career and needed 3 / 4 ops on his neck and was forced to retire....see where im going? even with this 'short' mainevent career Austin broke every Hogan record. Arguments are useless on Hogan ....records were broken = enough said.
@Fadethetrade Get you facts straight Austin has been wrestled since the late 80s yeah he was on top from 1997 to 2003 again get u facts straight his last match was against the Rock at WrestleMania 19 prick Austin would own Hogan anyday, Hogan is a washed up old man who has last his whole family and is in a shitty promotion that will never be bigger than WWE.
@wolfpac4life15 lets respect both legends bro, yeah the entire wwe universe knows that Austin is the greatest of all times,, but both did great things in the company.
First off, awesome vid! As someone born in the early 80s I saw both Hulk and Steve in their primes, but seriously Hulk was and is bigger than the organization itself. Everyone knows Hulk Hogan: wrestling fans or not, men, women, girls, grandmas, everyone. You simply can't say that about Steve and never will. He may be the more formidable opponent now, but his name will be forgotten in time while Hulks lives on.
@DatGizzyLoc Hogan wrestled in 5 decades,70's,80's,90's,00's 10's. Austin wrestled from 97 and lasted till 05.Hogan was the greatest ,austin had the internet to help his image and was still bigger.WIKI: better known by his ring name Hulk Hogan, is an American professional wrestler, actor, television personality, and musician currently signed to Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).[6] He is widely regarded as the most successful, famous, and biggest draw in the history of professional wrestling
@DatGizzyLoc TYPO: hogan was still bigger as a whole.Austin might have had a more entertaining angle and script but hogan was world wide and wrestled in many federations,not just wwe.The beer and the middle finger is what got austins popularity high.
the mcmahon rivalry---people don't seem to get that--hogan was a heel in his 1st run in wwf...came back after going to awa and that andre fellow made hogan--and vince allowed it because it was a classic good guy defying the odds by beating the ultimate bad guy--traditionl babyface stuff--but it worked and hogan marketed himself well and it was smart for him to do rocky 3...him going to the nwo was smart also as it turned out..but austin did more the company in much less time than hogan-vince him
seat arena to do so---hogan fed off of andre the giant to get whee he did, just like austin fueding with mcmahon--but here's the difference--austin was over before fueding with vince--back in mid to late 1997, we all saw the sea of austin 3:16 shirts-him fueding with the nation and heart foundation got him over wy before the mcmahon/austin rivalry-early 1998 with the royal rumble and austin beating up all of the wrestlers--austin could have fueded with anybody and got to where he did, without
broke every record hogan ever set in the wwf and wwe when hogan came back--no wrestler has surpass austin's record yet---maybe cena is the guy they are trying to get the job done, but he hasn't---hogan is in tna---he still hasn't broke austin's records---the nwo didn't break austin's record--the rock didn't--nobody--in just under 4 years of work, austin broke every record ever set by hogan in buyrates, attendance sales at house shows, raw, smackdown, ppvs, everything--austin didn't need a 93,000
Hogan's records are still intact. No one broke them. Austin's so called "best" buyrate was shared WITH the Rock at wrestlemania 17. Hogan is the guy who started everything Austin so called "broke". He's the guy who had 93,000 + plus fans at an indoor event, he had 13.2 mil viewers tuning in to watch him fight Andre at The Main Event 2/15/88. Hogan created Survivor series, he created the best heel faction in the world that beat Austin and Rock together in pops.
And the thing is Hogan wasn't in the internet era where if you didn't go to the show you could've bought it online. Austin couldn't sell merchandise on his own like Hogan did. Hogan sold out the most arenas partically the Madison Sqaure Garden, the Boston Garden and other gardens/arenas. Hogan's first appearance on raw garnered that whole show 10.4 ratings within 5 minutes. But regardless of the true facts that i present, you're never learn. You're whole argument has been debunked.
And now this argument has come to an end. But before i do stop commenting WITH YOU that is i would like to make one thing very clear.. Hogan is/was/still the biggest thing on trac record to ever graced a pair of boots in the ring. He is still the icon. He turned a small, family-owned company into a powerhouse, superhero, multi-million dollar industry that is known today as the WWE. He IS bigger then the industry and people from world wide know his name. Something Austin WISHES he did.
@tonshaad1230 These Hogan fans are smoking real nice. Stone Cold > Hogan. Everybody in the WWE admits Austin is the biggest legend in history. Stone Cold single handily took down WCW while Hogan was screwing WCW up. Sorry but anybody with a brain knows any year in the attitude era with stone Cold is 10x better than Hogan's best year in the 80s
@Budwiser221To actually sit there and to say Austin was better then Hogan IN HIS PRIME is bullshit and a joke and one of the following reasons why this Generation is SCREWED when it comes to legends and hasbeens. Hogan was already popular in Japan and the AWA BEFORE his second tenure to the WWF in 1983. Austin was and still is a NOBODY. It took Hogan one year to get popular again in WWF, and it took Austin more then 5 years to get noticed Hogan in his prime could easily get pops bigger then Aust
@tonshaad1230 Hahahaha Austin is called the greatest of all time and he was on top from 98-01. Oh yeah that makes Hogan fans mad that in just 3 short years Austin became the greatest of all time. Get over it
Every body says Austin is the biggest WHEN HOGAN IS NOT AROUND! DUH! Common sense would tell you to say the person is bigger then the actually truth. Austin was in the WWF during the time Vince NEEDED Hogan more then Hogan needed Vince and for that was butthurt he couldn't get his number one star back to the WWF (finaical issues). Plus Austin was Vince's draw at the time, so why would you go with the competition and bash your own superstar? Of course you would lie, business child!
Oh so you mean the "smart fans" who were only born in 1994-2001, that saw the full WCW run of Hogan and the full run of Attitude era is going to really agree with me? Think again fool. Even kids who were born in your era, may not like Hogan for his WCW stuff but THEY even know how bigger he is compared to your little white trash Austin. Hogan simply was BIGGER then the organization he worked for, and that even attitude era ripoffs (The Rock even said so) he was simply the best.
@tonshaad1230 sorry but Austin is better. Vince Mcmahon admitted that, Ric Fair admitted that and nearly everyone admits except bitter old Hogan fans. Im sorry but apparently you are stuck on stup....er I mean Hogan. If you like Hogan thats fine with me but Stone Cold is better. So you can save responding 3 and 4 times it wont matter
Like i said previously Vince said it because Hogan is not around and plus Hogan isn't in the company anymore. Thats why and plus its just business... Ric Flair admitted because for 1, Hogan came to WCW and blew Flair out of the water.... 2 created the most succesful (1996-1997) heel faction in the business... 3 sold out everywhere he went. Ric Flair is what Mickey Rourke's movie was about THE WRESTLER. Ric Flair is just jealous that Hogan become so successful then he did.
@tonshaad1230 all these excuses doesnt change the fact that Stone Cold > Hogan. Maybe outside of wrestling more people know Hogan but among wrestling fans Austin > Hogan. Sorry man. Honestly even The Rock > Hogan
Excuses..... yet they are the truth and this shows me you can't take the truth. Argument over because as far as i'm concerned austin lose.... err.. fans like you can't admit that theres someone bigger and better then your little white trash and his name is the Immortal Hulk Hogan. Reason why he's called the immortal for so long. Until you can take opinions and the truth, don't bother commentating on this video or on my channel.
@tonshaad1230 According to WWE executives Stone Cold is the biggest name in WWE history. You have your opinion but ill stick with the opinion of hall of famers like Rock, Flair, Goldberg, McMahon.. argument over you lose (and as usual) Austin wins
@Budwiser221 yeah bro everybody on the roster and executives of wwe named Austin as the greatest of all times, and is because is a fact, everyone knows that, Austin 3:16 is the biggest thing ever happen in history,, but lets respect both of them
I will just say this. In terms of what both of them did for the wrestling business, no doubt hogan did more than austin. But if we go by who is more loved by the fans, austin beats hogan.
"Smart fans" know nothing. Like you, you thrive on PWI while people like me thrive on traditional - no internet, no results, we want to see the action for OURSELVES. Unlike you growing up we didn't have the internet, we had wrestling arenas every night going to see who was going to fight. In terms of being loved by the fans, how could you say Austin beats Hogan? Wasn't it Austin who LEFT the same people "loved" him because he wouldn't job to a newcomer Brock Lesnar?
Wasn't it Austin who "turned heel" at a time in WWF when Austin turning heel DIDN'T make since, abandoned his people? Wasn't it Austin who uses his own fists to brutally attack his own wife because she wouldn't make him a SANDWHICH? Boy you guys sure love your white-trash hero so much you forget what he did to professional wrestling that had no impact. Hogan was the most believed superstar who stepped foot in the square ring. How dare you or anyone say he wasn't. You just don't know
You guys must be high to say Austin > Hogan. Seriously he may have "revolutionized" wrestling, but he DIDN'T make it. Hogan became a real superhero, and the only legend in WWF. Austin was a product of his environment in the late 1990's. Take him out of that era and place him in the 80's with Hulkamania, and you'd damn sure better realize Hogan >>> Austin anyday!
@tonshaad1230 the same is said about placing hogan in the wwf in the late 90s with austin---he would have been booed like no other--hogan lost appeal in the early 90s which is why he left in the 1st place--austin was a product of austin, not his enviroment--his gimmick was no gimmick at all-it was him being him but with the volumed turned up--of course hogan's superhero gimmick was loved--80s were about that-he was a product of his enviroment, not austin--who made his. in 4 years, stone cold
Austin was a product of his enviroment because after the 1990 went along, Austin started to suck. The 1980s weren't about Superheroes it was about how wrestling finally had it chance to shine on national television *being broadcasted around the globe because of Hogan*. Austins gimmick was inspired by all the hurt he went through and by him getting fired from WCW and ECW and how Eric said he couldn't do anything because of his lack of charisma and character, that was his gimmick.
Hogan in the late 1990's would've been cheered because people would've gotten tired of Austin's quick rational attitude. And thats not why he left. He was laying low from the heat he got from that steriod case and plus he was about to retire from wrestling. Ric Flair saw Hogan and gave him an offer he couldn't refuse to work in WCW with creative control over his gimmick and say so over what hes to do. Hogan went on to have another wrestling boom in the 1990's with the famous heel turn.
That garnered so much attention from WCW and was the sole reason why WCW did a good job of investing in Hogan. WWF was beaten 84 weeks in a row by the WCW because of Hogan turning heel and getting monster pops and heat. WWF stoled ECW's "edgy tv" and created "attitude era" and took the blood of Hogan, someone who created Vince McMahon's billionaire company and trashed it by creating "attitude era". Austin didn't break anything - -
Hey Hogan/Flair fans, want to know why Stone Cold/Rock are bigger than both of those clowns? Because Stone Cold/Rock dont ruin their legacies by coming back after every retirement. Austin hasnt wrestled since 2003 and the Rock since 2004 and they keep their appearances sporadic. Ric Flair "retired" and signed a contract with TNA the next week. Hogan may have made wrestling in the 80s but Stone Cold revolutionized it. Much like Bill Russell made the NBA and Michael Jordan revolutionized it
This match would've been so awesome but however austin vetoed the idea of him ACTUALLY winning. Hogan agreed to lose to make Hulkamania look inferior to Attitude era *nicely played Hogan* but Austin didn't want to lost, while Hogan did. Austin once again plays politics.... and you guys say Hogan is shit...
Nope not because of this because Vince wanted Hogan to win and make Hulkamania look superior but Hogan didn't want to win against Austin. But Austin wanted to win the match regardless but Vince said no. They couldn't come up with a finish so it was never made.
@tonshaad1230 i highly doubt vince wanted hogan to beat austin---vince wanted austin to win this match--and hogan said hell no---i can't see how with both of their styles anyone would believe hogan's style if wrestling would ever beat austin's and look good at doing it--the fans would spit at the wwe for that bullshit--just like hogan beating hbk and hhh--it looked so wrong---those were insults if you ask me--austin 3:16 rules wwf/e forever---
yeah....hogan may have made wrestling, but Austin changed it, revolutionized it, and made it bigger and better than it ever was. Heres also another thing that Austin did that hogan didnt, Austin didnt jump ship to other companys, and try to suck up all theyre money before they go under. Theres alot of controversy surrounding hogan, but hardly to none following Austin.
@ramtough85 He did beat up his wife and get caught drunk driving a few times so there is a little bit of controversy but your right there is an incredible amount of controversy around Hulk Hogan.
@AdrianHoliday yeah thats true,but i think hogan should take the blame because how would hogan at his age beat austin??even hogan in his prime wouldnt beat austin!!!
@CraigWeir1986 Hogan was the ultimate heel charachter 96-mid 99. Barely a year as a good guy then he retired from WCW mid 2000. Came back for 2 years in WWF as a bad guy and a good guy. 2002 and 2003. After that he has'nt wrestle just 2 matches. Hogan was in an era when Internet didnt exist. Wrestlings biggest rating is 15.1, goes to Hogan.
@Krillep They both represent two different era's in the wwe, and trust me that match would sell.......Hulk Hogan(eat your vitamins, say your prayers).......Austin(I don't give a fuck, does what the hell want to do)
@1SilentkilllErFrEAK1 Your just a LITTLE FUCKING PUNK BITCH. To little to understand. Hogan is your father - you wouldnt watch wrestling today if it wasnt for him.
@Krillep punk bitch'' nice one asshole.. he suuuuccckkkss a run to the boot and a leg drop? WAT THE FUCKKK!!! i mean stone cold iz the # 1, get real stone colds moves looked more PAINFULL, even Satino Marella's move look more DEADLY lol. HOGAN FACE OF TNA unbelivable...HULK HOGAN = GODS MISTAKE
When Hulk Hogan has finished up with TNA and if his back isn't too bad, WWE should try get this match together, maybe at Wrestlamania 30 in Madison Square Garden. Hogan could return for one night and say goodbye to the fans but then have Austin come out and ask for one more match, which Hogan could either accept or Hogan could say that he will think about it but then Austin does things like Stunner his family, so that Hogan accepts. Anyway, it would be a horrible match but would be MASSIVE.
@Jjesusis that is total bullshit!!hogan has little to do with where wrestlng is now.in 96 early 97 wrestlng was at a ever low point until austin came along and saved wrestling.austin brought wrestling to new heights!!heights that put hogan to shame.all ye hulkamanics need to cop on!!hogan was the 1st real star of wrestling but that doesnt mean he can be credited for everything good that has happened in wrestling!!hogan put wrestlng on the map and austin saved wrestling!!
Austin didn't save wrestling, he was just the right place right time type of thing. If Hogan was still in the WWF by 1996-2002, the WWF would've been centered around him. Austin doesn't have that appeal, Hogan has that appeal that can get masses of fans to arenas every time his name is mentioned. Early 1996 Austin wasn't even in WWF, he came back to WCW, Early 1997 Austin still wasn't on top. 1996-1998 Was Hogan's year. Just shut up you can't say anything, you fail.
The same guy who "saved wrestling" walked out on it in 2002 because he didn't want to job to then-new Brock Lesnar. BUT HEY HE NEVER PLAYED POLITICS, RIGHT? You guys are quick to judge Hogan and his personal life, but he never beat up on his whorish wife who deserves it, he never went to jail, he actually lives up to his heroic gimmick. Austin beats up on a poor defenseless lady who was stupid to not divorce him after that shit, gets TV time and a WWF title shot? WTF!
@tonshaad1230 what do ya mean he walked out??get your fuckn facts right you tit!!austins neck,back and knees were getting worse!!therefore he couldnt wrestle anymore!!
Oh my facts are right you faggot bitch, Austin may have had neck and back pains but he stil wrestled from 1997 so don't throw shit up you can't back up. In 2002 he still wrestled like he was in 1997 and 1993 so shut up. And what i mean is he was approached with jobbing to Brock Lesnar in 2002, and he walked out. Then Vince had to come out of character and explain why he did that. Its even a youtube video about it "stone cold walks out" so stfu. Another Hogan fan wins a battle!
@tonshaad1230 bullshit!!the stone cold character was not in wrestling in 93!!he was active from last 96 to 02!!in them 6 or so years austin 3:16 became the biggest selling thing in wrestling history!!bigger then that hulkamana bullshit!!!vince and all wrestlers have even said that austin was the biggest star ever in wrestlng!!
@bhchargers Austin debuted the Stone Cold character in 96,he was Stunning Steve Austin in WCW. Austin was arguably the biggest star in wrestling in 98 and 99 along with Rock,Undertaker,Goldberg,Mankind and Hollywood Hogan in that same time frame however Hogan started to lose momentum in 99 due to the fact he was always booked as the center of the show which grew old after 15 years. Austin started to lose momentum in 2002 after his last reign as WWE Champion.
ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MIND? I DIDN'T SAY HIS FUCKING CHARACTER I SAID HE WAS WRESTLING LIKE HE WAS BACK IN THE WCW DAYS IN 1993 YOU FUCKING RETARDED ASS MARK!
@tonshaad1230 would you have jobbed to a rookie like Brock Lesnar at that time? and correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Brock Lesnar LEAVE WWF after his so called push? use your head for once dumbass..... lol it actually sounds to me like you wanna ride Hogan's dick on this. hey be my guess, you're about the only one so ride away cowgirl
If that was Hogan, FOX news would be all over it! They'd treat him like garbage, they'd even say Austin would've did it differently. Vince, Austin, Jim Ross are all hypocrits. I hope Hogan realize that he still got some TRUE fans out there who can relate to his problems. Austin played politics but never got caught whilst when Hogan "played" them, he never got a chance to explain why. Bullshit all you Austin fans know is about throwing that crap up. FUCK YOU AND AUSTIN.
Hogan has the greatest record as a wrestler ever, even if it doesnt say it technically he was a 7 time WCW champion. Flair was also technically 7 but all in all the amount of time he was champ was nothing compared to the all time great hogan. Austin was nothing he ruled wrestling for one era, Hogan has ruled since the 80's in wwe, in the 90's in WCW, in WWE in early 2000 and even now in TNA. Austin is nothing compared to Hogan. Ow an Hogan had 12 (official) world title reigns Austin has 6
@kfunenapu austin could only wrestle for 6 years because of his injurys.hogan has been at it for 25 years.austin was champion 6 times in 6 years which is an awesome record!!hogan 12 times in 25 years!!not so good!!when you consider that hogan has had an extra 19 years on austin i think its fair to say austins impact is far greater then hogans!!
@bhchargers ok. Austin wrestled for longer than 6years he didnt just wrestle in WWE,if im wrong which i doubt, i apologise.Austin got injured and left Hogan hasn't got that badlly injured in over 30 years, truly Hogan is better for avoiding injury even if only by luck.Hogans championship reigns went for eons compared to Austins.Hogan ruled with the NWO granted it killed WCW however its purelly accomplishment and championship record is perhaps the most succesful for a group ever. Hogan=best.
@bhchargers look you havent managed to argue my other points, and Hogan has had tours named after and by him. He was the first to beat a man never before beaten in a 15 year career, doing it at wrestlemania with the championship on the line. im aware its scripted but im ranking them based on their characters acomplishments, which include several of Hogans title reigns lasting over a year, Austin cant compare but lets just say we each have valid arguements, leave it at that ok?
Rock>Hogan>Austin

@Legendary081 ok thats COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. Pro basketball would have continued regardless if bill russell existed or not. Professional wrestling may have continued without Hogan, but very doubtful it would have continued to be main stream. Hogan made pro wrestling main stream and a pop culture phenomenon. Bill Russell did not do that with basketball.

@Budwiser221 I dont think you realize how dumb your comment was. You said Austin reigned from 98 to 01 and try to compare that to Hogans reign of atleast 2 decades lol c'mon peeps dont forget the legacy of the Immortal Hulk Hogan.
lannysizzle13 6 months ago
@lannysizzle13 um actually Austin reigned from 96 to 01. it may not have been known to wrestling fans at the time but when Austin won the 1996 King of the Ring is when his reign started. It was the birth of Austin 3:16 and it was the birth of the Attitude Era. and those 5 memorable years with stone cold stomp anything the WWE has today. People love Austin because he created the most memorable and fun timeline in wrestling. Everyone misses the Attitude Era, which was Austin's doing, not Hogan's.

this would be the most epic match in professional wrestling history. the two greatest and top draws of all-time.
jamesv5891 7 months ago
For Fans of the their times: this would' ve been the most epic confrontation this World, let alone this industry has ever seen. The Man whom without him would never have the passion let alone know about this business & the Man who revolutionized it by giving it the swiftest kick in the ass that fans yearn for those times to return. "The Immortal" Hulk Hogan vs "The Rattlesnake" "Stone Cold" Steve Austin. I tell you, to not know the significance is to not know what this business is about...

hogan was the bigger draw but stone cold put the best quality of matches.

jungle10ful 1 month ago
First of all, let me say I can't stand Hulk. But without Hogan, there would be no Austin. Hulk Hogan made wrestling, love him or hate him. Him being the best of all time should not be considered an opinion...its a fact.
ARAM0508 7 months ago 19
@ARAM0508 i dissagree, just because somebody started something great doesnt mean he has to be the greatest. Its not a fact that he is the best it most definatly is an opinion. Austin had it all great wrestling ability and had great charisma and personality. Hogan also had good personality but his in ring wrestling style sucked compared to Austin so in my opinion Stone Cold wins this debate hands down. Now thats a fact.
eamon4800 5 months ago 2
@eamon4800 You just said it was your opinion, idiot, thereby stating that it's NOT a fact. Only Internet smarks and Japs care about a bunch of circus-flipping lucha libre crap in the ring. The important thing is ENTERTAINING your audience and TELLING A STORY with your actions. Very few did it anywhere near as well as HOGAN.

@ARAM0508 The fact is, the WWF wouldn't be around today if it wasn't for Stone Cold. Stone Cold saved the WWF from bankruptcy and death.
thetechjedi 4 months ago
@thetechjedi slightly disagree. the entire year before wcw went down, stone cold was not around. the rock triple h undertaker and others were holding down the fort just fine without stone cold. ARAM0508 4 months ago

Stone Cold Steve Austin is simply the best person ive ever saw in wrestling. Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your assssss! still gives me goosebumps.
CraigWeir1986 8 months ago
@Fadethetrade Get you facts straight Austin has been wrestled since the late 80s yeah he was on top from 1997 to 2003 again get u facts straight his last match was against the Rock at WrestleMania 19 prick Austin would own Hogan anyday, Hogan is a washed up old man who has last his whole family and is in a shitty promotion that will never be bigger than WWE.

STONE COLD STEVE AUSTIN 4EVER
matija13579 10 months ago
would tell you this--austin is the greatest superstar ever--
pbf316 11 months ago
the mcmahon rivalry---people don't seem to get that--hogan was a heel in his 1st run in wwf...came back after going to awa and that andre fellow made hogan--and vince allowed it because it was a classic good guy defying the odds by beating the ultimate bad guy--traditionl babyface stuff--but it worked and hogan marketed himself well and it was smart for him to do rocky 3...him going to the nwo was smart also as it turned out..but austin did more the company in much less time than hogan-vince him
pbf316 11 months ago
seat arena to do so---hogan fed off of andre the giant to get whee he did, just like austin fueding with mcmahon--but here's the difference--austin was over before fueding with vince--back in mid to late 1997, we all saw the sea of austin 3:16 shirts-him fueding with the nation and heart foundation got him over wy before the mcmahon/austin rivalry-early 1998 with the royal rumble and austin beating up all of the wrestlers--austin could have fueded with anybody and got to where he did, without
pbf316 11 months ago
broke every record hogan ever set in the wwf and wwe when hogan came back--no wrestler has surpass austin's record yet---maybe cena is the guy they are trying to get the job done, but he hasn't---hogan is in tna---he still hasn't broke austin's records---the nwo didn't break austin's record--the rock didn't--nobody--in just under 4 years of work, austin broke every record ever set by hogan in buyrates, attendance sales at house shows, raw, smackdown, ppvs, everything--austin didn't need a 93,000
pbf316 11 months ago
@pbf316
Hogan created Survivor series, he created the best heel faction in the world that beat Austin and Rock together in pops.
tonshaad1230 11 months ago
@pbf316
You're whole argument has been debunked.
tonshaad1230 11 months ago
@pbf316
Something Austin WISHES he did.
tonshaad1230 11 months ago
@tonshaad1230 These Hogan fans are smoking real nice. Stone Cold > Hogan. Everybody in the WWE admits Austin is the biggest legend in history. Stone Cold single handily took down WCW while Hogan was screwing WCW up. Sorry but anybody with a brain knows any year in the attitude era with stone Cold is 10x better than Hogan's best year in the 80s
Budwiser221 10 months ago
@Budwiser221To actually sit there and to say Austin was better then Hogan IN HIS PRIME is bullshit and a joke and one of the following reasons why this Generation is SCREWED when it comes to legends and hasbeens. Hogan was already popular in Japan and the AWA BEFORE his second tenure to the WWF in 1983. Austin was and still is a NOBODY. It took Hogan one year to get popular again in WWF, and it took Austin more then 5 years to get noticed Hogan in his prime could easily get pops bigger then Aust
tonshaad1230 10 months ago
@tonshaad1230 Hahahaha Austin is called the greatest of all time and he was on top from 98-01. Oh yeah that makes Hogan fans mad that in just 3 short years Austin became the greatest of all time. Get over it
Budwiser221 10 months ago 3
@Budwiser221
Of course you would lie, business child!
tonshaad1230 10 months ago
@Budwiser221
Hogan simply was BIGGER then the organization he worked for, and that even attitude era ripoffs (The Rock even said so) he was simply the best.
tonshaad1230 10 months ago
@tonshaad1230 sorry but Austin is better. Vince Mcmahon admitted that, Ric Fair admitted that and nearly everyone admits except bitter old Hogan fans. Im sorry but apparently you are stuck on stup....er I mean Hogan. If you like Hogan thats fine with me but Stone Cold is better. So you can save responding 3 and 4 times it wont matter
Budwiser221 10 months ago 2
@Budwiser221
Ric Flair is just jealous that Hogan become so successful then he did.
tonshaad1230 10 months ago
@tonshaad1230 all these excuses doesnt change the fact that Stone Cold > Hogan. Maybe outside of wrestling more people know Hogan but among wrestling fans Austin > Hogan. Sorry man. Honestly even The Rock > Hogan
Budwiser221 10 months ago
@Budwiser221
Until you can take opinions and the truth, don't bother commentating on this video or on my channel.
tonshaad1230 10 months ago
@tonshaad1230 According to WWE executives Stone Cold is the biggest name in WWE history. You have your opinion but ill stick with the opinion of hall of famers like Rock, Flair, Goldberg, McMahon.. argument over you lose (and as usual) Austin wins
Budwiser221 10 months ago
@Budwiser221 yeah bro everybody on the roster and executives of wwe named Austin as the greatest of all times, and is because is a fact, everyone knows that, Austin 3:16 is the biggest thing ever happen in history,, but lets respect both of them
owan316 8 months ago
@Budwiser221

Hartebreaker84 11 months ago
I will just say this. In terms of what both of them did for the wrestling business, no doubt hogan did more than austin. But if we go by who is more loved by the fans, austin beats hogan.
petracryo 11 months ago
@petracryo
Wasn't it Austin who LEFT the same people "loved" him because he wouldn't job to a newcomer Brock Lesnar?
tonshaad1230 11 months ago
@petracryo
You just don't know
tonshaad1230 11 months ago
You guys must be high to say Austin > Hogan. Seriously he may have "revolutionized" wrestling, but he DIDN'T make it. Hogan became a real superhero, and the only legend in WWF. Austin was a product of his environment in the late 1990's. Take him out of that era and place him in the 80's with Hulkamania, and you'd damn sure better realize Hogan >>> Austin anyday!
tonshaad1230 11 months ago
@tonshaad1230 the same is said about placing hogan in the wwf in the late 90s with austin---he would have been booed like no other--hogan lost appeal in the early 90s which is why he left in the 1st place--austin was a product of austin, not his enviroment--his gimmick was no gimmick at all-it was him being him but with the volumed turned up--of course hogan's superhero gimmick was loved--80s were about that-he was a product of his enviroment, not austin--who made his. in 4 years, stone cold
pbf316 11 months ago 2
@pbf316
Austin was a product of his enviroment because after the 1990 went along, Austin started to suck. The 1980s weren't about Superheroes it was about how wrestling finally had it chance to shine on national television *being broadcasted around the globe because of Hogan*. Austins gimmick was inspired by all the hurt he went through and by him getting fired from WCW and ECW and how Eric said he couldn't do anything because of his lack of charisma and character, that was his gimmick.
tonshaad1230 11 months ago
@pbf316
Hogan went on to have another wrestling boom in the 1990's with the famous heel turn.
tonshaad1230 11 months ago
@pbf316
Austin didn't break anything - -
tonshaad1230 11 months ago
@pbf316
It took John Cena 3 years to get on top and break Austins records.

omairiqbal889 11 months ago
Hey Hogan/Flair fans, want to know why Stone Cold/Rock are bigger than both of those clowns? Because Stone Cold/Rock dont ruin their legacies by coming back after every retirement. Austin hasnt wrestled since 2003 and the Rock since 2004 and they keep their appearances sporadic. Ric Flair "retired" and signed a contract with TNA the next week. Hogan may have made wrestling in the 80s but Stone Cold revolutionized it. Much like Bill Russell made the NBA and Michael Jordan revolutionized it

This match would've been so awesome but however austin vetoed the idea of him ACTUALLY winning. tonshaad1230 11 months ago

tonshaad1230 11 months ago
@tonshaad1230 i highly doubt vince wanted hogan to beat austin---vince wanted austin to win this match--and hogan said hell no---i can't see how with both of their styles anyone would believe hogan's style if wrestling would ever beat austin's and look good at doing it--the fans would spit at the wwe for that bullshit--just like hogan beating hbk and hhh--it looked so wrong---those were insults if you ask me--austin 3:16 rules wwf/e forever---

I agree with you 100 percent kfunenapu!! Well said brother!! Hogan made wrestling an took wrestling were it is today!! I love you hogan!!!
Jjesusis 1 year ago
@Jjesusis that is total bullshit!!hogan has little to do with where wrestlng is now.in 96 early 97 wrestlng was at a ever low point until austin came along and saved wrestling.austin brought wrestling to new heights!!heights that put hogan to shame.all ye hulkamanics need to cop on!!hogan was the 1st real star of wrestling but that doesnt mean he can be credited for everything good that has happened in wrestling!!hogan put wrestlng on the map and austin saved wrestling!!

@bhchargers

@bhchargers
WTF!
tonshaad1230 1 year ago
@tonshaad1230 what do ya mean he walked out??get your fuckn facts right you tit!!austins neck,back and knees were getting worse!!therefore he couldnt wrestle anymore!!
bhchargers 1 year ago
@bhchargers
Another Hogan fan wins a battle!
tonshaad1230 1 year ago
@tonshaad1230 bullshit!!the stone cold character was not in wrestling in 93!!he was active from last 96 to 02!!in them 6 or so years austin 3:16 became the biggest selling thing in wrestling history!!bigger then that hulkamana bullshit!!!vince and all wrestlers have even said that austin was the biggest star ever in wrestlng!!
bhchargers 1 year ago
@bhchargers Austin debuted the Stone Cold character in 96,he was Stunning Steve Austin in WCW. Austin was arguably the biggest star in wrestling in 98 and 99 along with Rock,Undertaker,Goldberg,Mankind and Hollywood Hogan in that same time frame however Hogan started to lose momentum in 99 due to the fact he was always booked as the center of the show which grew old after 15 years. Austin started to lose momentum in 2002 after his last reign as WWE Champion.

@bhchargers
ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR FUCKING MIND? I DIDN'T SAY HIS FUCKING CHARACTER I SAID HE WAS WRESTLING LIKE HE WAS BACK IN THE WCW DAYS IN 1993 YOU FUCKING RETARDED ASS MARK!
tonshaad1230 1 year ago
@tonshaad1230 would you have jobbed to a rookie like Brock Lesnar at that time? and correct me if I'm wrong but didn't Brock Lesnar LEAVE WWF after his so called push? use your head for once dumbass..... lol it actually sounds to me like you wanna ride Hogan's dick on this. hey be my guess, you're about the only one so ride away cowgirl
evolfury 1 year ago
@bhchargers

Ow an Hogan had 12 (official) world title reigns Austin has 6
kfunenapu 1 year ago
@kfunenapu austin could only wrestle for 6 years because of his injurys.hogan has been at it for 25 years.austin was champion 6 times in 6 years which is an awesome record!!hogan 12 times in 25 years!!not so good!!when you consider that hogan has had an extra 19 years on austin i think its fair to say austins impact is far greater then hogans!!
bhchargers 1 year ago
@bhchargers ok. Austin wrestled for longer than 6years he didnt just wrestle in WWE,if im wrong which i doubt, i apologise.Austin got injured and left Hogan hasn't got that badlly injured in over 30 years, truly Hogan is better for avoiding injury even if only by luck.Hogans championship reigns went for eons compared to Austins.Hogan ruled with the NWO granted it killed WCW however its purelly accomplishment and championship record is perhaps the most succesful for a group ever. Hogan=best.
kfunenapu 1 year ago
@kfunenapu the stone cold character was only around for 6 half years.i know steve willams wrestled for longer!!
bhchargers 1 year ago
@bhchargers look you havent managed to argue my other points, and Hogan has had tours named after and by him. He was the first to beat a man never before beaten in a 15 year career, doing it at wrestlemania with the championship on the line. im aware its scripted but im ranking them based on their characters acomplishments, which include several of Hogans title reigns lasting over a year, Austin cant compare but lets just say we each have valid arguements, leave it at that ok?
