  • nice to see the dx7 being used as something other than those obnoxious tines sound that ruled the late 80's.

  • You are tearing me APART, Vini!

  • I'm from Brazil too, Durutti is just great.

I think they are popular in Portugal due to the Fado (sad music stile).

  • awesome, nice! New to me! It´s on spotify too.

  • I'm from Brazil. I hear Durutti Colum ever. I have LC vinyl album and Without Mercy and somethings selections. Não consigo me desapegar deste conforto sonoro.

  • god i hate the saxaphone, great band though

  • can some one tell me if this is on a cd thanks

  • i was there at the hacienda when he played once in 83(i think) think there was something 12 people there things didn't really start popping off until 88

  • a simple thank you! You've made my evening.

    :}

  • why did they make it asif durutti column were unpopular and couldn't draw as many crowds in the film 24 hour party people?

  • tony wilson once said that durutti column could go to portugal and get 2000 people, go to paris and get 700 people, but in manchester 60 at most.

  • @blairshynola that is true... Durutti Column was very popular in Portugal...

  • I think they generally wanted to show the starting problems of Hacienda. This film overall showed Vini Reilly and Durutti Column in a frenetic way.

  • Wow, first time i'm hearing this band.....love it.

  • Is this Vinny Riely?

  • yes

  • excellent glad to see this clip again,i bought this the week after, 1st issue in vigin the bottom of market st in M/CR,what a journey we had to come threw the factory connection, madchester was just a stones throw away,M9.

  • WOW!!

  • beautiful !

  • Lovely stuff....Another expression of the many musical diversions Factory backed...pushing away from the mainstream dross of the eighties.

  • I wouldn't say the mainstream of the 80s was dross. that opinion might be a little harsh.

Some of it was shit, I agree. Now, I like Durutti Column but it might be considered a little bit snobby for the Manchester thing. Although I reckon Tony Wilson was a bit of a snob. A Genius but a snob none-the-less

  • excellent! thanks for posting. one of my favorite d.c. songs!

  • This list is frightening- it's like my music collection from York University (85-88), which was half inched from the squat I was living in Hackney when I moved to London.

  • its so pure!

    i love this felling

  • Found Affection // Real Music (-_-)

  • Brilliant! - is this from the Old Grey Whistle test or something?
