Let me preface my comment with I'm not a christian and disagree with those that publicly preach. That being said I also find it disturbing for those that disagree with the message or messenger to shout them down.
As college students you are afforded with your first amendment right, why not let others do the same without shouting them down.

God put us on this earth to give praise and glory to His name. @circushead I can't afford to miss a meeting at church. The Church requires you to attend mass and receive the Eucharist every Sunday. Secondly, our church has the Pope and priests to be messengers of God because the diocese tries to avoid situations like this. When you have an uneducated Christian professing the word, you are only bringing the burden upon the Church you are representing. This is why we also have ordained priests in our community, so we can profess the word correctly.

I am an atheist. If you belive in god I don't mind, it's the fact that it makes YOU happy. @circushead I appreciate the confidence in your stature, but, as you can see, I am not a prophet. Only God himself chooses the ones to proclaim His name. God put us on this earth to give praise and glory to His name. The prophesying is left to the chosen men of God and, also, the Roman Catholic Church doesn't require all believers to be messengers for him. Our messenger on earth is the Pope. He proclaims the rules of God, and we are to follow. Simple as that.

And while it may not involve preaching, your Catholic faith, and your Church, most certainly does require you to be a messenger of Christ. I think you may have missed a few meetings.

@circushead I can't afford to miss a meeting at church. The Church requires you to attend mass and receive the Eucharist every Sunday. Secondly, our church has the Pope and priests to be messengers of God because the diocese tries to avoid situations like this. When you have an uneducated Christian professing the word, you are only bringing the burden upon the Church you are representing. This is why we also have ordained priests in our community, so we can profess the word correctly.

I am an atheist. If you belive in god I don't mind, it's the fact that it makes YOU happy. My granny who is 83 has always believed in god but I would never enforce my beliefs on her as she does not have long left and it's what makes her happy without god or for me at least without her BELIEF in god knowing you don't have long left and being confused about the after life can depress anybody

I'm a Catholic (not joking), and I'm obligated to believe everything the church doctrine teaches, but I believe preaching to the public like this is wrong and humiliates respectable Christians. This proves that religion should be a "self-decision." It should NEVER be forced upon! Preachers, leave well enough alone!
