To me it seems like for shading you rub the shadows with your fingers. I do all my shadings by using a very light shade and gradually increasing the darker tones into it which makes the shades look natural.

Nice drawings! Your shading is perfect :3 Just for a suggestion, I think you should draw your eyes a little smaller next time so that they are proportionate to the face. But anyway, good job! Hope you will improve more ^^
