  • wow, beautiful! and looks very light!!

  • felt!!! felts all the way!

  • I know in high level competition every ounce counts. But unless you are a pro I really don't think the difference between an 17lb steal road bike and a 15lb (lightest allowed by the UCI) all carbon bike is going to make the difference between winning and loosing. Maybe for Indurain or Armstrong...

  • I'm not a beginner, but an intermediate rider, I think. Why do you say Record is superior to Dura Ace. I'm just curious. I know campy mirage doesn't compare with Record, but the shifters are the same and I used Mirage. I prefer Shimano over Campy, mainly because of the hoods. I see Team High Road and Discovery (now defunct) use Shimano. I guess it's a matter of preference. The 2009 Campy records look awesome, though. But please tell me why Campy Records. Just trying to gain knowledge.

  • Both company has proven themselves in the Tour de France. Miguel Indurain and Eddy Merkx has dominated the Tours riding Campy while Lance Armstrong did too with Shimano's Dura-Ace

Shimano makes great components but it's just that Campagnolo has proven themselves to have and sell the best products.

Shimano on the other hand has low and higher end levels.

  • Campy has introduced the 10 speed. Which was much more ahead than Shimano.

Campy recently introduced their 11 speed to their Chorus, Record, and Super Record. While Shimano still has their 10 speed

Campagnolo has also proven themselves to use the Carbon Fiber materials used in their components AND cranks. Giving lighter components and stiffer pedal power.

Shimano on the other hand has the Dura-Ace Di2 which is a electronic shifter.

  • In my opinion, I would go with a Campy (If I had the money). Why? Because they are more focused to road racing. They have the experience and they are dedicated to their products.

Shimano on the other, in my opinion is a company for money, less about quality. But their Dura Ace are good components, but if you are a pro rider, Dura-Ace is too common. So, many wont be surprised that you have a that groupo.

  • Full shimano powertrain is the way to go.

  • Cool stuff!
