@thegliphic The note you are referring to is completely fine, it's a G, which is minor 7 of the A minor(pentatonic) scale. I know it sounds like a wrong note but it's not...
I hear you. but it wasn t intended.. you can tell when you watch him play it at woodstock. he slides past the desired note and hits the another plus the timing is off for exactly that one note. he falls behind the beat a bit I think he was meaning for the G#........ just something I've noticed.
@thegliphic Man, I honestly can't say if it was intended or not, only Jimi would know and he often played behind the bit also. He did make some mistakes from time to time as he said it himself, because he was constantly improvising, he never played one tune twice the same. So only he knew what he was doing and sometimes I think even he didn't know what he was playing with all that acid in his head :-) Now G# definitely wouldn't fit here, cause it's from major and would clash with A minor chord.
Yes he was all about the improv and I'm actually a fan of his mistakes I wouldn t change any of them out for the world. And yes Sometimes he didn t know what he was doing . that was the beauty of his style. But I disagree about the G#. The G# goes along with the melodic minor which fits beautifully with the A minor Pen. yes the A minor Pen. is one of the things jimi is using but the melodic minor is what jimi is soloing in at some points.
super.

@thegliphic and I meant G from the A minor scale or the A pentatonic(minor) scale, nothing to do with melodic minor

On this one it's only Dunlop's Uni-Vibe(stereo chorus) and an overdrive(super tube) for the solo. All through Marshall Valvestate 100.
