Those dubbed the "far left" in the USA are a long way from the UK's equivalent. Politically, Barack Obama is not that far from David Cameron. The Right in the US would be apoplectic at the likes of real Lefties like Dennis Skinner or Tony Benn, who consider Democrats more like Conservatives on a huge number of issues.

As for the Tea Party, they would be considered off the scale in the other direction, as they are far to the right of Margaret Thatcher, considered reactionary in the UK.

There's no logical way for O'Reilly to say he disapproved of the murder. He's certainly a proponent of the death penalty for murderers, for war against terrorists, why would he condemn the murder of a doctor who in his own view murdered tens of thousands of babies. His rhetoric almost makes it sound like the guy was a one-man concentration camp.

His apology was political, a disclaimer, but not sincere and not taking any responsibility for those who hang on his words

i don't like Bill but he definately did not incite the murder of Dr tiller. There are so many other reasons that could of put a factor to his death.. I'm a moderate when it comes to abortion rights. I think there are times when abortion is morally justified and there are times when it isn't. It's not an either/or issue.

What is needed is calm rational discussion. Does using violent language lead to violence? Yes. Does calling a person a killer make it more likely they will be killed? Yes.

That isn't to say that O'Reilly doesn't have the right to espouse contemptible rhetoric. But having a civil right doesn't make it morally right.
