@Sgtrambom60 it not automatic weapons they are illegal in illinois but people shoot really fast thats all it freaked me out the first time i heard that.
I happen to agree with the two posters below this one. The staff at this range is on a huge power trip. They just can't wait to find someone making the slightest infraction, and to throw them out for it. Much better staff/atmosphere at McMiller in Wisconsin.
I went there once. Told them I had a bunch of empty cigar tins I wanted to shoot as targets. They politely said no. I had no problem with that and forgot all about it. Spent the next few hours shooting being watched like a hawk for it. They thought I couldn't resist throwing those tins out there in the pit and it seems they couldn't wait to catch me doing it. Other than that I had a fairly good time. But I'm now less than inclined to go there as often. OK place overall, though Illinois sucks.
I asked one of the RSO's there why you can't take pictures anymore. He said because people were posting pictures to thier facebook pages showing safety violations (not intentionaly) and the range ended up having to pay a huge fine.
Which is kind of funny considering you don't even need a FOID to go tthere
Too bad no vid these days- this video was made with a crappy Chinese copy of a Japanese camera. Low res. Now I have a Casio that does high frame rate slow motion video and no where to use it!
I used to love plinking here as well. But its been something like 18 yrs ago. Used to go there with a fella last name Wimmer. He had a uzi. Any chance we know each other dwimmerlaik?
Man, I miss that place. I haven't been there in years. I remember going down there with a few thousand rounds and a bunch of guns. All day on a Saturday then hitting the 'Lamp Liter' nudie bar on the way home. Good times, good times.
Same here. I try to get down there once or twice a year. I also hit the Lamp Liter as well. Everytime I go to the range now they get stricter and stricter.I know its because of idiots they deal with but I'm not happy with the camera policy.I always take videos when I go down there but I never post them on the internet.
