not sure if being trolled... but on topic~ i remember back in alpha, when a dirt hovel was pretty much the only way to survive the night.. now with charcoal and beds its not as much of a challenge...

in other news, having watched anyway, I would certainly not want to spend my first night in a dirt hovel. I would get enough wood to build a nice little wood house with a proper door, build a furnace (you can get charcoal by cooking wood, which makes torches much easier than they used to be before this was added - as well as giving you a better fuel for early game cooking) and maybe try to find some sheep to make a bed (need atleast 3, since you can only get one wool per without sheers now)

Hm, I have to admit, this is quite a nice and informative video for beginners, who just got Minecraft. This will definitely help and explains pretty much everything you need to know at first and I haven't got the feeling this guy doesn't really know that much about Minecraft himself :)

But if you want something more entertaining, I would recommend a Let's Play, like 'x's adventures in Minecraft' trust me, it's amazing, even though he plays in the Alpha :)

Honestly why is the full release of minecraft looking like such a thing for everyone.

I mean it's really cool, but the amount of copies sold a month this month isn't gonna be very different from any other month. It's not like it's a time to make a bunch of tutorials.

It'd make more sense to be making these after the game is released, on version 1.0 of Minecraft (Not the beta).

Then you could show veterens all the new stuff as well.
