Hi I am pretty new I flying jets and I already have heat seekers and that stuff but I am asking u to make a video on how to get accurate kills with the chain gun!!! PS: please respond to this. I suck at chain guns help badly
try legacy sticks. right stick is essentially look and left stick controls roll. it's a bitch to get used to at first but it works out real good when you get the hang of it
My biggest problem with the jets is I have no accuracy. I can't hit shit. I'm better on xbox but PC is total fail haha. it's why I mostly stick to the infantry in this game. Also I find when I fly I always seem to shoot right by whatever targets are out there, everything goes by to quick.
one thing you forgot to mention that is quite possibly the most important factor in a dogfight is the optimal speed for maneuvering. if you want to be able to pull over 9.5Gs you must keep your speed within 300-310mph. your speedometer is the rectangle on the top left of your hud, keep that within 300-310mph and you will be able to outturn most pilots. also it is good to know that the F-18 can turn slightly faster than the Su-35, but the Su-35 can roll significantly faster than the F-18.
You can actually dodge missiles by turning back and flying low to the ground in the direction of the missile, once the missile has been launched, then the missiles fly above your plane.

Tip - After you disable an enemy plane you have to finish it off because, fire extinguishers can save you if you are below 50%, and the other guy can still come around behind and disable you. Cheers :D

Couple things. 1)The regen after 50% damage only applies in normal mode. If you're playing hardcore, you retain the damage until your plane is destroyed, or you land and repair. 2) The Split S is good, unless you're already at low altitude. If that's the case, you need to perform an Immelmann. Pull the stick back hard until you come to the top of an outside loop. At that point roll until you are right side up. This gains quick altitude and reverses your direction just like the Split S.
biggest tip i got from this video, even tho he didnt mention it, is patience. when i get in a jet and get behind someone, i don't wait for the kill shot, or unitl i get closer, i just start shooting. that's a tip i can use in ANY situation

Hey i still suffer from turn movements. Though i low down speed others still turn faster 180 degree. and some aces only need 1 second to get into my hack. wtf is that ? how they do. next i can only aim well with mouse. but with mouse i cant control jet movement well. i have no 3 hand. wtf can i do ?

I think the best tactic is breaking sharply and then firing with the gun. If someone is on your tail always keep turning and never fly straight for more than a few seconds XD
@worldmaxter1998 If you are being laser designated only 2 things will break the lock. ECM Jammer will temporarily break the lock and give you time to get away or destroy the target. Otherwise you have to break the line of sight from whatever is targeting you with the laser. This usually means flying between buildings or behind mountains. Hope this helps.
good vid, but if you really want to kill alot of jets, slow down, as you have sharper turning and more maneuverability, slowing down and banking sharply will stop most lock on missiles, but at that point they get u with he machine gun, anyway, go slow, because using the afterburner gets you instant speed faster than slowing down, so combine a sharp, slow turn into a dive between two trees or hills and then hit the afterburner while staying low, only the best will stay on ur tail if u do it right
also i hate when people jump out, thats why i developed a tactic to counter it.
lock on with heat seekers until they panic and fire flares, then regain lock, fire both (since they won't have flares yet) and as they're on their way, shoot them with gun, and continue shooting as the rockets hit him. 99.9% of the time it will work
@aman692 Usually most experienced pilots will just fly low, or wait for the frantic beeping before deploying flares. I dont even bother eq-ing heat seekers. Almost everyone has flares. At least with rocket pods you are a bit more useful to your team.
@iAmTheEffingBatman majority of the time the people i fly with are novice, and dump flares before the frantic beeping, but i can still take out ground patrol from my jet with the gun. how many jet kills do you have?
@aman692 not much. around 30. i just got the game like two weeks ago. but usually smart people bail out when im firing, and usually the most i get is vehicle disabled/destroyed.
heres a tip, kill your target, if i manage to get disabled i land my jet, repair it, and kill the guy. i dont see a lot of people doing that, even though 8/10 times it will work
@XxXLattXxX It's because not every vehicle catches fire from 50% below like they said, I've had my vehicle to 25% and no fire, no fire-extinguisher either... I think the game actually has a critical chance shot where if you hit a vehicle in a specific place it can destroy it way faster... I've been killed one shot from a javelin hitting the tail of a jet, somehow... Pissed me off... @iAmTheEffingBatman I will try, but... I can't get it down for shit unless I can actually practice

I hate playing jets now, it's always the same thing... I shoot at them and then they turn and we get stuck in a never ending chase where I can never seem to find them after so many turns of playing catch their tail... I'm fucking sick of jets now... I like your tutorial, but sick of jets.
@Tilearian Keep at it man. I think air warfare is probably the most exciting part of bf3. Ask your friend/teammate to look at the sky and tell you where the enemy jet is. Thats what I do nowadays, still haven't unlocked air radar. Just got the game a few weeks ago. And you should learn to dump speed. Usually it takes two or three tries before I get an angle i can work with, and soon i'm behind the other guy.
@iAmTheEffingBatman I've actually started playing very good last night and this morning, now I can get like 2 to 3 kills on anyone that's as good as me or worse than... But if I'm up against someone better I don't normally get a kill... But I normally die after my second kill, or we collide in an effort to shoot each-other down while flying at eachother.
@Tilearian Thats good. Keep racking up points till you unlock things like air radar, rocket pods and laser guided missile, so you can attack ground forces more effectively, and help your team more. :)
I have monkeyed around with jets only a few times, and usually only when the helicopters arent available (your tutorials on those were fantastic, btw!). This gives me a better idea of whats going on, and I'll give them more of a chance!
To rank up jets easy for beginners, simply play rush on Caspian border, since it ls the easiest map for this strategy. You will need to be on the russian side to use the SU Frogfoott, since the a10 is bugged. Simply make strafe runs on tanks and vehicles
Fantastic video. You speak slowly and clearly and the video is very helpful. I have had the hardest time with the jets. I rule the skies with the choppers but jets were the hardest thing to get a handle on. Thank you for making a great video.
Best tip for air to ground battle: fly at a pretty high altitude (600-800) just off the map and look form inside out with down d-pad and spot enemy veihcles. After you spot them, go in for the strafing run with rocket pods. Easy kills.

what many people don't know is that you can actually look around without switching to the outside view!! you have to press down on the d-pad and than look around with your right stick...

@COD4Owns6161 On the PS3, it is L2 that slows the jet down. Just hold it in. My usual tactic is to be accelerating as you are flying into the sky and then to always start slowing down when you aim back towards the battlefield. This way you are already going slower if you spot a tank to attack. Obviously if you are being chased by a plane, slowing down will probably get you killed.
@COD4Owns6161 IF you can take down people with the gun at the front of your front plane, use rocket pods..... get high then come down on them take them out most of the time.
Sweet video- Wish it was PC friendly though, after all IMO BF series was made origionally for PC... anyway though the concept still applies very nice!
you got some things right, but 2 major things very wrong, the airspeed for the ultimate turn radius is 310 knots (left set of numbers on HUD) also it is easy to dodge an incoming heat-seeking missile by turning against the source from wich the missile is coming from, if you do it right the missile will ALWAYS fly above your plane and miss you, also use air-radar if you dont want to be taken by surprise the whole time, and atleast on PC the rocketpods are dominating everything very easy

That health thing isn't completely true. I find that you can't recover if you go below 50% hp AND you're on fire. I just played yesterday and I was at 40% hp and I wasn't on fire and I recovered.
@Kingsdown77 I believe there was a patch that allowed planes to go to 40% health and not be disabled. I believe it is only out on PS3 atm. What console are you using?
I only use fire extinguisher, because when i'm disabled people just switch target, i repair and get back behind them and finish them. works all the time :) Good video mate
@Mitxelcalifornia Hey, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! The indicators represent altitude and air speed. If you are ever losing your bearings in a tight spin or roll, double check the altitude and make sure you aren't getting too close to the ground! Hope this helps.
If anyone wants to know, the best overall power setup for jets is: Belt Speed, IR Flares, and Guided Missile. Belt speed for longer bursts taking out jets, and Guided Missile to use with your gun to take out tanks. The trick to this is you have to be good at spotting the enemy, knowing at approximately what time the enemy jet spawns and never letting the enemy get behind you. I don't spawn camp, but when I see an enemy take off I wait 30 seconds or so to let them try and find me before firing
@gluesniff3r you should try switching the controllers so you have the roll and up and down movement on the left stick, i could play with the default controllers(idk if i had more of a hard time, cuz i was playing ace combat before bf3 came out, and i got used to the controllers) only problem with the setup i used is that the look around button is compromise.

@YeshGaming I <3 beam scanning. Great setup is beam scanning, extinguisher(unless the player isn't good at dodging missiles, then flares), and guided missile. Come from above, fire guided missile, switch and strafe at target until the missile hits. Guaranteed destroyed vehicle + kill
@YeshGaming Gamers now have a lot of flares too so its really hard to use those heat seeking missiles. I use the air radar personally so I can find out if there's anyone on my tail.

@JeySivaNavam My PSN ID is that same as my name here, xRobertTheBrucex. I use Stealth, Flares, and ATGM as my jet perks currently. I actually prefer the machine gun for dogfights because the enemy doesn't see it coming. The Air-To-Ground Missiles (ATGM) are fantastic at busting up tanks and jeeps. My clan (Yesh) LOVE when they spot enemy tanks and a few seconds later my missiles come flying in on em! :D
The people I play against are MUCH harder to kill. :(

My favorite method of avoiding enemy jets is a modification of the Split-S, where you pull up sharply, but slow down instead of hitting afterburners.
Most of the time, by the time they've pulled up level with you, they've overshot you, and then you can take over the pursuit.

I hate playing jets now, it's always the same thing... I shoot at them and then they turn and we get stuck in a never ending chase where I can never seem to find them after so many turns of playing catch their tail... I'm fucking sick of jets now... I like your tutorial, but sick of jets.

@Tilearian Keep at it man. I think air warfare is probably the most exciting part of bf3. Ask your friend/teammate to look at the sky and tell you where the enemy jet is. Thats what I do nowadays, still haven't unlocked air radar. Just got the game a few weeks ago. And you should learn to dump speed. Usually it takes two or three tries before I get an angle i can work with, and soon i'm behind the other guy.

@iAmTheEffingBatman I've actually started playing very good last night and this morning, now I can get like 2 to 3 kills on anyone that's as good as me or worse than... But if I'm up against someone better I don't normally get a kill... But I normally die after my second kill, or we collide in an effort to shoot each-other down while flying at eachother.

@Tilearian Thats good. Keep racking up points till you unlock things like air radar, rocket pods and laser guided missile, so you can attack ground forces more effectively, and help your team more. :)

I have monkeyed around with jets only a few times, and usually only when the helicopters arent available (your tutorials on those were fantastic, btw!). This gives me a better idea of whats going on, and I'll give them more of a chance!

To rank up jets easy for beginners, simply play rush on Caspian border, since it ls the easiest map for this strategy. You will need to be on the russian side to use the SU Frogfoott, since the a10 is bugged. Simply make strafe runs on tanks and vehicles

Fantastic video. You speak slowly and clearly and the video is very helpful. I have had the hardest time with the jets. I rule the skies with the choppers but jets were the hardest thing to get a handle on. Thank you for making a great video.

Best tip for air to ground battle: fly at a pretty high altitude (600-800) just off the map and look form inside out with down d-pad and spot enemy veihcles. After you spot them, go in for the strafing run with rocket pods. Easy kills.

what many people don't know is that you can actually look around without switching to the outside view!! you have to press down on the d-pad and than look around with your right stick...

@COD4Owns6161 On the PS3, it is L2 that slows the jet down. Just hold it in. My usual tactic is to be accelerating as you are flying into the sky and then to always start slowing down when you aim back towards the battlefield. This way you are already going slower if you spot a tank to attack. Obviously if you are being chased by a plane, slowing down will probably get you killed.

you got some things right, but 2 major things very wrong, the airspeed for the ultimate turn radius is 310 knots (left set of numbers on HUD) also it is easy to dodge an incoming heat-seeking missile by turning against the source from wich the missile is coming from, if you do it right the missile will ALWAYS fly above your plane and miss you, also use air-radar if you dont want to be taken by surprise the whole time, and atleast on PC the rocketpods are dominating everything very easy

That health thing isn't completely true. I find that you can't recover if you go below 50% hp AND you're on fire. I just played yesterday and I was at 40% hp and I wasn't on fire and I recovered.

I only use fire extinguisher, because when i'm disabled people just switch target, i repair and get back behind them and finish them. works all the time :) Good video mate

@Mitxelcalifornia Hey, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! The indicators represent altitude and air speed. If you are ever losing your bearings in a tight spin or roll, double check the altitude and make sure you aren't getting too close to the ground! Hope this helps.

If anyone wants to know, the best overall power setup for jets is: Belt Speed, IR Flares, and Guided Missile. Belt speed for longer bursts taking out jets, and Guided Missile to use with your gun to take out tanks. The trick to this is you have to be good at spotting the enemy, knowing at approximately what time the enemy jet spawns and never letting the enemy get behind you. I don't spawn camp, but when I see an enemy take off I wait 30 seconds or so to let them try and find me before firing

@gluesniff3r you should try switching the controllers so you have the roll and up and down movement on the left stick, i could play with the default controllers(idk if i had more of a hard time, cuz i was playing ace combat before bf3 came out, and i got used to the controllers) only problem with the setup i used is that the look around button is compromise.

@YeshGaming I <3 beam scanning. Great setup is beam scanning, extinguisher(unless the player isn't good at dodging missiles, then flares), and guided missile. Come from above, fire guided missile, switch and strafe at target until the missile hits. Guaranteed destroyed vehicle + kill

@JeySivaNavam My PSN ID is that same as my name here, xRobertTheBrucex. I use Stealth, Flares, and ATGM as my jet perks currently. I actually prefer the machine gun for dogfights because the enemy doesn't see it coming. The Air-To-Ground Missiles (ATGM) are fantastic at busting up tanks and jeeps. My clan (Yesh) LOVE when they spot enemy tanks and a few seconds later my missiles come flying in on em! :D
