  • this is a stellar performance! bravo! lyrical and percussive. It rocks!

  • this is a stellar performance! bravo!

  • 4:45 cell phone RUDENESS!!!

  • Rythmns are not crisp enough, and it's very 'technical' and leaden. It lacks colour and shape, the dramatic moments, shape and structure of phrases and sections not brought out.

  • Максим, классно..... прям за душу взяло!!! :-* Летко

  • No good on piano.

  • i want a cd recording of this T_T so stunning!! Great job!

  • Just noticed in The Little Mermaid, the scene with the chef before he sings, he hums in front of the oven and he's humming Danse Macabre

  • Disney does a lot of stuff like that ;) it doesn't surprise me.

  • I love this piece very much and you performed it so wonderfully! :)

  • Vaya que hermoso ¡FELICIDADES! ya quisiera tocar el piano asi si supiera, esa sinfonía me encanta.

  • @Ladagor No es una sinfonía

  • Glad to see the Liszt-transcription. I hope I'll be able to play this one day myself.

  • Excellent!

On a side note, this seem the only recording on youtube of someone not performing the Horowitz Version but the original Liszt transcription - which i personally prefer.

  • Actually, the original recording of La Danza Macabra that Horowitz made via piano roll WAS the Liszt edition. He just accented the chords some. Stienwayz has posted a video of it here on YouTube. Just do a search for Stienwayz, and you're sure to find it.

  • You are right of course! what i just wanted to say is that there are almost no video or acoustic audio performances of that piece on youtube, since a piano roll recording is not exactly what i would refer to as a "performance recording": roll recordings are not very accurate when it comes to reproducing the dynamics (the horowitz roll is particulary horrible in that respect) and timings and are easy to manipulate later on, so one should be careful when declaring a roll as a performance recording

  • @MisterAgurk If you're interested ...

I'm working on my own revisions to the Liszt score, to where I'm hopefully making it more Saint-Saëns, and less Liszt.

  • @MisterAgurk: Good for you! Same here. In a recent conversation with pianist Arnaldo Cohen, he mentioned that he thought the Horowitz version less effective than the original, which he (Cohen) has recorded for Naxos in Vol. 1 of the complete Liszt series.

  • very nice(в смысле молодца)+5
