Verizon might have a little more 3g coverage than At&t as of now but At&t covers some spots Verizon doesn't not to mention Verizon runs on a slightly outdated CDMA network. Lucky for me I don't have to deal with any drops calls since I switched over to Net10's unlimited plan for only 50 freakin dollars a month. The Net10 network runs on BOTH Verizon and At&t towers so take that Verizon! Switch to Net10 and you won't regret it... the iphone's overrated anyway.

@mij194 This is 3G coverage which is data. It's not regular coverage. Also, the current AT&T isn't the original 'Ma Bell' AT&T, it just owns the naming rights to the name AT&T. The current AT&T and Verizon Wireless both were part of the original AT&T. AT&T = Southwestern Bell. Verizon = Bell Atlantic.

That 3G map for AT&T is a total depiction! When I went to check AT&T's actual 3G coverage map on their site, it showed at least some 3G coverage in all of the continental United States. I live in the suburbs of Wisconsin and I have amazing 3G coverage with AT&T! F u Verizon! AT&T FTW!
Lol. Actually, that map (which I checked out) includes both the 2G AND 3G coverage. Provided you can figure out how to get it to show only the 3G coverage (AT&T makes it conspicuously difficult to do that...odd) then the map in this commercial matches almost perfectly with the ACTUAL 3G map on their site. It's good that you did your research on this, but you should have gone a bit further.
When you get to the AT&T coverage map on their site, zoom in by one level (from National Coverage to the very next level in). Take notice of the map key in the bottom left, and keep in mind that the 3G is in the darkest shade of blue. CAREFULLY trace out this blue on the map they provide. Suddenly, their 3G coverage looks A LOT like the map in this commercial.

My mom has At&t and I have Verizon and after my real world tests with both Verizon is faster and works in more places Vs At&t. We take are phones everywhere and I can name of many places where my mom is always asking to use my phone because her At&t phone has no service. With the use of wifi I can also talk and surf the web at the same time not that I would ever want to because I think this is very rude for the caller on the other end.
Sprint is the worst wireless phone company ever I hate them and they lied to me and told me they where going to give me unlimited everything for the first mouth and it was not. My first mouths bill was over $800 of bogus stuff. Sprint also has the worst C S of ANY company I have ever been with. I am now with Verizon and have never been more happy. Verizon will be getting 4g and the 3g on Verizon is blazing fast so sprint suck off.

I'm a marketing major at my college and this is disgraceful marketing for both companies. Although these ads do get the point across in an unorthodox manner, they still carry alot of power. It's sad that both marketing managers have to revert to the old primitive fighting back and forth advertising instead of choosing a unique idea. This goes to show that both companies have run out of creativity. I'd expect to still see them bashing each other in the Superbowl ads coming up this year.

Sprint was originated from GTE. Verizon was found by AT&T Corp due to Anti-trust judgement. Verizon is technically a AT&T side branch which has to run a totally different network to avoid being punished by law. CDMA was their best choice of getting around the law as a new company.

Verizon has a selection of World phones. For instance, the BlackBerry Tour is capable of both CDMA and GSM use. Here in the states you'd obviously use CDMA for Verizon and it can be switched over to GSM when traveling to other countries requiring GSM.
Yup! Been with Verizon's for years. Love their coverage and customer care. I have the Droid right now, but had the Tour before. Both are great phones. :-)

@mij194 This is 3G coverage which is data. It's not regular coverage. Also, the current AT&T isn't the original 'Ma Bell' AT&T, it just owns the naming rights to the name AT&T. The current AT&T and Verizon Wireless both were part of the original AT&T. AT&T = Southwestern Bell. Verizon = Bell Atlantic.

That 3G map for AT&T is a total depiction! When I went to check AT&T's actual 3G coverage map on their site, it showed at least some 3G coverage in all of the continental United States. I live in the suburbs of Wisconsin and I have amazing 3G coverage with AT&T! F u Verizon! AT&T FTW!

Lol. Actually, that map (which I checked out) includes both the 2G AND 3G coverage. Provided you can figure out how to get it to show only the 3G coverage (AT&T makes it conspicuously difficult to do that...odd) then the map in this commercial matches almost perfectly with the ACTUAL 3G map on their site. It's good that you did your research on this, but you should have gone a bit further.

When you get to the AT&T coverage map on their site, zoom in by one level (from National Coverage to the very next level in). Take notice of the map key in the bottom left, and keep in mind that the 3G is in the darkest shade of blue. CAREFULLY trace out this blue on the map they provide. Suddenly, their 3G coverage looks A LOT like the map in this commercial.

Verizon's misleading advertising tactics appear to be a response to AT&T's strong leadership in smartphones. We have twice the number of smartphone customers... and we've beaten them two quarters in a row on net post-paid subscribers. We also had lower churn -- a sign that customers are quite happy with the service they receive. We are currently in first place for phone service in the us .

My mom has At&t and I have Verizon and after my real world tests with both Verizon is faster and works in more places Vs At&t. We take are phones everywhere and I can name of many places where my mom is always asking to use my phone because her At&t phone has no service. With the use of wifi I can also talk and surf the web at the same time not that I would ever want to because I think this is very rude for the caller on the other end.

Sprint is the worst wireless phone company ever I hate them and they lied to me and told me they where going to give me unlimited everything for the first mouth and it was not. My first mouths bill was over $800 of bogus stuff. Sprint also has the worst C S of ANY company I have ever been with. I am now with Verizon and have never been more happy. Verizon will be getting 4g and the 3g on Verizon is blazing fast so sprint suck off.

I'm a marketing major at my college and this is disgraceful marketing for both companies. Although these ads do get the point across in an unorthodox manner, they still carry alot of power. It's sad that both marketing managers have to revert to the old primitive fighting back and forth advertising instead of choosing a unique idea. This goes to show that both companies have run out of creativity. I'd expect to still see them bashing each other in the Superbowl ads coming up this year.

I guess our argument can all end here... it doesn't matter which company(AT&T or Verizon) you are loyal to, they are still the same company--just not in the surface. If you look at the history of Verizon, you will see this company is begotten of AT&T who runs in CDMA network in order to conform anti-trust judgement. In 1983, Government forced them to split into 7 smaller companies. And Verizon was one of them... Thank you for sticking with Verizon(AT&T) for life. =D

Sprint was originated from GTE. Verizon was found by AT&T Corp due to Anti-trust judgement. Verizon is technically a AT&T side branch which has to run a totally different network to avoid being punished by law. CDMA was their best choice of getting around the law as a new company.

I don't really care which is better by a little bit of coverage. I have AT&T and have no problem at all with drop calls or coverage. It's not affecting me at the moment where I live so I'm not gonna pay attention to Verizon. Besides, they made a huge mistake attacking AT&T first.

Verizon has a selection of World phones. For instance, the BlackBerry Tour is capable of both CDMA and GSM use. Here in the states you'd obviously use CDMA for Verizon and it can be switched over to GSM when traveling to other countries requiring GSM.

Screw Att&t, verizon will completely dominate them this year. They can keep fat Luke Wilson, I'd rather have a phone service that works.

I agee with you on that 100% @sidewinderrecords, AT&T sucks and will never be better than Verizon, which is why AT&T keeps blowing smoke by using Luke Wilson to do these cheesy attack ads against Verizon since AT&T is just jealous that they're losing the competition against Verizon and knowing that Verizon's CDMA technology skunks the hell out of AT&T's lousy GSM technology.

Thanks to Verizon. AT&T is working even harder to stay on top of in the industry. Shame on Verizon though. They tried so hard... even using their dirtiest tricks... lolz Keep trying. It's still going to be futile. lolz
