  • I was never so aware of the sheer magnitude, the numbers involved, the

distant countries our troops are resting in! God bless them & their families.

Thank you for the beautiful Kitty Wells song..

  • This is heavenly. Thanks for a great posting, and God bless all those young fella's that paid the ultimate price for us all.

  • Thank you for that - I'm a "Godmother of War" of a Band of Brothers at the Ardennes American Cemetery, and a representant for the AWON in Belgium. We can never thank them and their families enough for what they gave for us.

May they Rest in Peace and their sacrifice never be in vain!

  • These cemeteries are "Sovern American Soil" within the borders of other nations. These soldiers died to liberate the nations where they now rest.

  • Every Saturday night, our local country station WFMS does a country gold show. Tonight (due to Memorial Day), they played this song. The DJ said the man sing'n was Kitty's husband. Great classic country! Made you feel! Thank you all servicemembers! God Bless the U.S.A.!

  • Has ALWAYS sounded to me like Hank Williams Sr. is singing harmony with her on this song...especially on clearer versions of it.

Can anybody please tell me or help me find out if this is true?

  • that is Miss Kittys' husband, Johnny Wright and his singing partner Jack Anglin. Jim Anglin actually wrote the song and sold it to Roy Acuff.

  • We just thought the times they were a changin. They didn't

  • i wonder if anyone remembers this song

    * Goodbye *

  • KILLER HARMONY here.

    God Please Bless Our Troops.

  • A great song written by Roy Acuff*****`S

    Thank you for posting.

  • So sad, there were so many lives sacrificed. And in wars since, as well as today. God bless all who have fought and continue to fight for freedom everywhere.

  • heartbraking stuff. I have sometimes been quick to criticise things the US has done in recent years, but I feel for all those brave souls who gave their lives for a good cause in WW2.The world should never forget....rest in peace,God bless you all.

  • I love Miss Kitty´s singing -

but this video makes me sad.

So many soldiers died in the past and will die

    in the future...

  • had kitty been recording back in the 40's when she first began singing this song, it would undoubtably been a huge hit.
