Pulsars could be discovered because people understood gain staging and linearity in electronic circuits, and the results of that research couldn't be purveyed here because someone at the end of the chain didn't understand basically the same things at all.

700Hz rotation period? Impossible. Pulsars are something else. They cant be rotating matter. Other than that amazing.
