  • i thnk tomas is so much better than michael jackson in everyway the only difference is tomas doesnt dance and hang kids outside of windows

  • Me: "Hey mom, I'm going out."

    Mom: "Where to?"

Me: "To kick 7 people's asses."

    Mom: "Well be safe honey."

Me: "Don't worry, i got 226 other people to help me out."

  • @stuckbetweenV 230 now. :D

  • 7 people suck

  • Does anybody else agree that Tomas is like, one of the greatest musicians of all time? people call me crazy for comparing him to michael jackson, james brown, and ray charles but, he's doing the same thing as james brown and ray charles. he's combining multipule styles, and making them work. To do that is very hard. Streetlight and BOTAR have a very unique great sound that inspired a lot of people. They're literaly riding the fourth wave of ska xD. in my eyes Tomas is a musical Genius..

  • @iCharleyStudios I'm calling you crazy because you compared him to Michael jackson, he is not a pedophile or talentless!

  • @stuckbetweenV Yo dude, chill out. Michael was a little odd in his later years, but he was an AMAZING, groundbreaking artist in his time and deserves respect as one of music's greatest talents. Comparing Tomas to Michael Jackson may not be accurate in terms of scope but in terms of genius, absolutely.

  • @trdl23 I'm not saying Tomas as good as Michael Jackson, but i rate artists/bands/composers in different ways, and michael and tomas are both Musically amazing, when it comes to skill, how much soul they put into it, how much they care for the music, and everything.

  • @trdl23 and again I was joking, still don't really like Michael Jackson tough.

  • @stuckbetweenV ^^^ ignorance at it's finest. Bro. Even if he did make some mistakes.. that doesnt make him a terrible person. He choreographed like no others, he was an amazing singer, and not just skillwise, he did everything from the bottom of his heart. If he was as famous as he was or not famous at all, he'd still put the work into it. I dont listen to michael jackson much, but i give him so much honor and respect because of the work and soul he puts into everything, just like tomas

  • @iCharleyStudios Dude, I was joking around, and also I just don't like Michael Jackson, sorry.

  • Does this have anything to do with that movie?

  • @Boscotrips I'm pretty sure it doesn't.

  • What's the Tracklisting for this EP please?

  • @Jolamarajami

    1. A Call To Arms

    2. Here's To Life

    3. Dear Sergio:

    4. It's A Wonderful Life

    5. They Provide The Paint

  • This is the most underrated song Tomas has written. I wish he would rework it for Streetlight or maybe release a new BOTAR album with this on it.

  • @BoundeterminedMusic from what he said in a interview there should be more BOTAR on the way... but Streetlight has more covers coming... nothing orgnl...

  • @hurlnuts69 actually they're going back to the studio for a new original album this year, once they finish up the Ship of Fools: Odds and Ends tour.

  • Dear Tomas,

Every fiber of my being yearns for another BotAR album. I know it's on the way, but five songs can only sate a person for so many years. Make it happen!

    Regards,

    Knotthegun

  • @KnottheGun give him a brake man, he's only a man.

  • my heart! >_<

    love this song

  • the 60's had pink floyd, the 70's had black sabbath, the 80's had metallica, the 90's had sublime. the 2000's have streetlight / tom kalnoky :)

  • I'M JAMAICAN SO FOOK Y'ALL!

  • Comment removed

  • BOTAR is cool, It's just annoying that Kalnokey can't clone himself to work on both bands.

  • @AsTheWorldSpinsAgain The mind can only handle so much epic music, Cloning TohKay would result in too much epic music for even the strongest minds to handle.

  • Comment removed

  • seriously they need to put out something other than an EP, it's been almost 10 years

  • is that tom from streetlight?

  • @TheEnviroFriend who else could it be? lol

  • @TheEnviroFriend No duh. XD

  • @TheEnviroFriend .Yes.

  • is this originally by botar or is this a cover?

  • I shed tears of sadness and joy at the same time. Kalnoky, you always touch my heart.

  • im sick and tired of my ska deprived friends thinking this is mariachi

  • @PMOCAPALDI dude, you hit the nail on the head with that one

  • @PMOCAPALDI the more time goes on the less I group Streetlight (and BOTAR) with ska. It's just not traditional ska in any sense, almost all the other ska I listen to is extremely light hearted. I really don't know another ska band that's as heavy hitting as Streetlight. TK has even said in interviews that he's influence a lot less by ska than you'd think. I think this even more true for BotAR, whose folk influence is almost stronger than it's ties to Ska.

  • @MasterFett Well, Big D and the Kids Table i think is just as strong hitting as streetlight and BOTAR. And they are ska, but like you said a different kind of ska then usual.

  • Freaking beautiful song.

  • i love this song... by italian boy

  • @frassinagos Tomas Kalnoky is Czech, not Italian....unless I am missing something.

  • @ellimem I did not mean that Tomas Kalnoky is Italian ... but I'm Italian ... I did not explain well, sorry ... :)

  • @ellimem Hes from New Jersey xD

  • Comment removed

  • fucking beautiful

  • One of the deepest songs I've heard in a long time. I'm sure a lot of family and whatnot can relate to this song who have close ones fighting in the military.

  • @JacksonShredder18 if this is one of the deepest songs you've heard in a long time you need to start listening to some better music, buddy

  • @OpakeArawra2 I listen to all sorts of different music. A lot of different types with deep meanings too. It was a compliment to BOTAR, soooo pull your head out of your ass.

  • @JacksonShredder18 and jackson guitars suck

  • can't wait for BOTAR's contribution to 99SOR

  • Comment removed

  • no, theres 8 albums being released.. streetlight are releasing 2, BOTAR are releasing 2 and there are two other "streetlight manifesto related" bands involved

  • Yeah its streetlight, botar, and two other bands.

  • dude 99 songs is a 4 band thing lol...streetlight BOTAR and 2 other bands who's names i cant remember

  • @sean99766

    ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh

i didnt know that... my bad

  • i think one is gimp.

  • Comment removed

  • @sean99766 true true.

  • My guess would be Catch 22 and maybe Dan Potthast. I cannot think of any other bands currently active that are connected to Streetlight, unless Kalnoky is resurrecting The Gimp.

  • @peroxion yeah im thinkin its deff dan potthast and BOTAR but im not sure about catch

  • Comment removed

  • this song makes everything in my life not suck

  • it's been a wonderful life

  • lol I'm a goofy boober YEAH hahahahaaha cool name

awesome song upload too! i love kalnokys work :D

  • This here is the reason why I love BOTAR :D

  • 3:43 = At Least the Best part Of...LIFE ITSELF!

  • Agreed!

  • I FUCKIN' Love That Comment MR.T ;)

  • i've got kind of hate love for this song i dont know why

  • This song has the most beautiful intro ever.

  • this song moves me close to tears every time I listen to it.

  • tomas is a genius/god!

    ANYONE GOT A BASS TAB??!!!

I NEED IT FOR MY BAND!!!!!

    any help is greatly appreciated

oh and dont tell me google, i've already checked. im not asinine

  • if you have guitar pro, go to ultimate-guitar, and someone tabbed it out like PERFECTLY

  • thanks for replying

but the thing is, i dont have guitar pro

or the option of getting it.

and im playing a gig in which my band is playing it in october, and we have all the parts except the bass. Is there any alternative?

  • look up tuxguitar, its a free download and can read guitar pro files

  • no viruses or bullshit like that?

i know it sounds dumb to ask...

  • no, it's clear, i use it all the time

  • tuxguitar! the open source version of guitarpro that can open/save guitar pro files

  • My favorite BOTAR song to this date, hands down.

  • yeah me too but its too bad they have so few, or have they released some out of 99 songs?

  • @markthesteedreed out of the what, 5? haha

  • @markthesteedreed My favourite song to date, hands down.

  • It would be so great to see them all live, I'd pay anything for that. BOTAR forever!!

  • Blahh, I want to learn the French Horn in this song so badly but I can't find it anywhere D:

  • You have to learn by ear. Everyone else who wants to cover Kalnoky's songs have to anyway.

  • This is the best thing ever

  • were can i download this song?

  • take some youtube mp3 converter...

  • just go to itunes

  • can't wait until 99 songs of the revolution

if it's as great as everything else kanolky does it'll be incredible

  • i hear its just going to be covers of a whole bunch of different songs

  • Acoustic Ska covers

done with heaps of other artists

    I mean theres 99 songs :P

and they dont care about sales or if you download there songs

  • if you go on wikipedia and look up the 99 songs of the revolution up you can see a setlist of 5 songs and there all covers.

  • eveything this guy works on turns to gold

  • @345jackass345 I couldn't agree more.

  • @345jackass345 I wouldn't call it gold. Gold is something everyone knows about. His work is more precious and a lot rarer than gold. Something that is all together more important than gold (sentimental value maybe?)

  • i love this ! Two thumbs up!

  • They played this song yesterday wonderfully :) (streetlight manifesto I mean)

  • Because, Its not by them, and because its called "Everything Goes Numb". Its by Streetlight Manifesto. They share quite a few members, but its a different name.

  • oh i know that song but on sites it claims its a different song by them so i went looking all around for it. but then i realized it has the exact same lyrics as everything went numb.

  • what song are you talking about?

  • album is titled everything goes numb, the song is everything went numb.

  • its everything went numb

  • One of the best songs live. Seriously, when they all soloed for a short time i fell in love. <3

  • I agree. I saw it live a couple years back and it's by far one of my favorite songs I've ever seen performed live.

  • i saw streetlight play this at th charlotte in leicester just before xmas, they rocked!

  • They're all way too amazing to compare IMHO.

  • Top 5 Kalnoky songs

    1. They Provide the Paint...

    2. That'll be the Day

    3. Shoebox in My Closet

    4. Here's to Life (B.O.T.A.R)

    5. 1234 (Catch 22)

  • supernothing should be on this list. so should the big sleep.

  • let's not forget butterworth

  • Every single song is amazing...

  • i know this band is related to streetlight but how, wait, is that TK nevermind

  • there's a guy named john paul jones who plays trumpet

  • Ska becomes pro-war. Anyone else see the irony in that?

  • great song

  • this is a fantastic antiwar song

  • I think you missed the point of the song... If its anti war, why would it have the line

"And I know that everyone is willing to go

And I find Ill turn it all and leave on a dime

If I leave tonight (screw whats right)

I can make it home by dawn"

It seems to me that the song is more about keeping your word and commitments and doing what you promised, rather than just doing what you want and living life with no consequences. That point is touched on in The Blonde Lead The Blind(cont)

  • well, yeah, it is about keeping your word and such. but there is also a good antiwar message. but all in all, i think we both agree that it's a fantastic overall song

  • Tomas doesn't tell anyone the meanings of his songs because he says each song has different meaning for each listener. I kinda agree ya know? If you listen to a break up song you think of an ex not the song writers ex. Same concept.

  • precisely. but just because you're right, and i'm right doesn't mean that ImaGoofyGooberYEAH's wrong

  • If you think that line is pro-war, you might be looking to far into it.

  • I didn't say its pro-war, just pro fulfilling your commitments and responsibilities.

  • @ImaGoofyGooberYEAH: I agree with your point about fulfilling obligations. This song says in a few areas that, since he's having to fight in a war that he doesn't really see a purpose in fighting, he's still going to fight and just make it a personal reason for which he's fighting. Like you said, you didn't say it's pro-war, but it is pro-responsibility. For some people in this world, "responsibility" is a foreign concept, shucking obligations at every chance they get in order to be happier.

  • In the lines

    "Did you lose faith?

Yes, I lost faith in the powers that be,

But In doing so I came across the will to disagree,

And I gave up, yes I gave up and then I gave in.

But I take responsibility for every single sin"

  • wrong song dude.

    different songs = different meanings...

  • Same Artist, same morals.

  • Basically.....he lost faith in the powers at the top but he learned to disagree with them and accept the sins that they have committed on others.

I mean...its pretty simple. Sides your listening to the wrong genre if you think you'll find any Punk or Ska song thats Pro-War.

  • I never said pro-war. Go back and re-read the conversation.

  • is this song like an extended metaphor?

  • FAIL.

  • I came in my ears when i heard this.

  • Thats disgusting and physically impossible

    but very passionate :P

  • That's what i call dedication.

  • wat wat wat wat wat wat

  • ladies and gentlemen, i present, the fourth wave

  • As much as I love love love SM, I can't seem to get into BOTAR.

Any one got a good suggestion of their songs? This just isn't doing it for me..

  • Listen to They provide the paint... its awesome.

  • this is my favorite song by them right now!

  • Gonna see street light in England i cant wait we ave our flights booked and all!

i kno these aint street light btw!

  • What show are you going to?

And where are you flying from?

  • What the hell are you talking about?

  • I think he's talking about the new project from SM/BOTAR/?/?. 99 songs of revolution? anyway I'm stoked about this, so to each their own.

  • O.O you do know he was in streetlight right

  • ....?

  • thomas likes doing that, covering old songs whether his own ( recovering Keasby Nights etc.) or in the case of covering national hymns.

i think he does it like in the style of old Jazz musicians would, to "prove" that if they can play the old, then listen to "my" stuff.

  • tomas, not thomas

  • same shit

  • its amazing!! i love BOTAR!!

  • Awesome song. Tom K. is a damn genius.

  • I heard there is going to be two CDs. One (99 Songs Of The revolution) is all cover. The other is untitled and is all new stuff.I think the're come out in 2009(as RDSoxFan said) and if not then, then before the end of the decade.

  • acually the new CD is supposed to be all original songs

  • OLAY!

  • Oh. And just to fit in, I love Five Iron Frenzy, Brave Saint Saturn, and Roper. Woo! Reese Roper is amazing.

  • Cool sax solo. I love it!

  • people see this as a side project because boatr has released 5 songs while streetlight has released around 36. im sure if botar had more songs they would be alot more popular

  • Lucky you, the BOTAR site says they are producing another record, should be out by the end of 2009. It's called 99 Songs of Revolution, but it's going to be covers of anthems to hymns. I'm a little disappointed, because I like Tomas originals, but I'm sure this CD will still sound fantastic.

In another note, tonight, Pentimento Music, Tomas' record label, has their web site come out.

In my final note, daayuum...I love the baritone sax solo in this song.

  • Can't wait til' '09 now

  • Five Iron Frenzy is awesome. Er, was. R.I.P. The only Christian ska band that sings about Canada that I know. =] Anyway, Tomas K is a god.

  • I just heard this song today in my friends car, Really sweet ass song

  • awesome song

  • kalnoky was amazing in c22, botar, and streetlight, and he will always be fuckin amazing

  • dont forget gimp

  • gimp is awesome

  • botar i mean sorry

  • they're both awesome.

  • touche

  • awesome song! streetlights lead singer tomas kalnoky singing!

  • ahh i hate five iron frenzy i love ska but not five iron frenzy.

  • i hate you then

  • That's an idiotic reason to hate somebody. Seeing as it's nearly impossible to not hate five iron frenzy.

  • First of all, it was a joke. Second of all, why do you hate five iron? Just because they arent as "Ska" as streetlight or catch? Thats an idiot reason to hate something.

  • barely fucking ska?!? you've gotta be kidding. streetlight is one of the best ska bands there is
