The ground could be lowered but I seriously doubt, my friend, that that gives this strange illusion, though I myself have no theories, for I don't see any reason it would do this, and I would like to be puzzled anyways.

the room is shaped strangly. at one end of the room, everything is smaller than usual, so it makes you look bigger. also, the floor and ceiling are slanted.
