개고기에 대한 오해가 있는데, 한국인들이 먹는 개고기는 식용으로 번식시킨 변견입니다. 일부 유기된 애완견 등을 식용으로 유통시키는 것은 윤리적인 문제점이 매우 크지만, 식용을 목적으로 번식시킨 종을 먹는 것은 비난할 대상이 아니라고 봅니다. 다만, 도축시 두들겨패거나 흉기로 찌르는 등의 잔혹한 방법 대신 전기충격 쪽을 택하는 쪽이 좋겠지요.

in korea, some eat dog, some dont.
many korean children and adults will have the same reaction as most of you may have, when they see dogs being eaten.
still, dogs and cows are almost equal in taste, nutrition, and texture; except dog meat tastes better than cow ;)
if you simply see dog as a typical livestock like cows, then you should have no problem eating this tasty and nutritious meal.
but you need to go to the right restaurant. some serve illegal, tortured dogs.

I am glad this vid is out to inform the people what is going on. first of all, the news footage is very old, and that was the time when Korea was in poverty (many has changed since then). The fact that Korean news took their time to broadcast the issue indicates that majority of Koreans are not a dog eater. Actually, many Korean people are against such barbaric act and doing something about it. So if you want to criticize Korean as whole, i feel sorry for your lack of understanding and prejudice

I am Korean and I do admit that we are ashamed of some of dog slaughter and of course it is very cruel!
However, please note that not all dog slaughtering ground is like this
and this is only minority of these place
plus this clip is from early 90's and since then many dog slaughters were arrested;
so we don't do this nemore

This is no longer practiced in Korea due to sanitation laws. This news was about 20-30 years ago news. Nowadays, killing dogs in an inhumane way (animal cruelty) is illegal and is under harsh punishment. Yes, dog meat is still sold and eaten but are killed in a humane way. However the tradition of dog meating has become criticized from the citizens themselves.
