So if I have braided extensions but no make up on, I am still more superficial than someone with no hair extentions but make up on?
@fatysylvain I agree with you. Jodie, its good that you love your hair the way it is but braids and extensions are fine too. I'm mixed race too and I don't leave my hair out like yours because its a headache to comb afterwards. I'd do anything to make it easier to handle.

I can totally relate to the wig comments. I've got a thick, fluffy, coilly afro and I get people asking me if I'm wearing a wig all the time. I find it funny. I also get a few people asking to touch my hair. Sometimes they don't even ask. They just grab it! I don't know... Afro's are fascinating I guess. As far as the haters... screw em! I'm mixed race, and alot of people have tried to persuade me to cut and straighten my hair. It gets annoying after awhile, and by now it makes me want to scream in their face that I'm NOT going to cut my hair because THEY think it would look better D:<

I don't think the Black women who try to get you to perm your hair are jealous, they're trying to help you to get your hair to look "good" which in most of our warped minds equates to it being straight. It's not jealousy, but "HELPING". I love your hair in its natural state and my hair's natural, but don't put us out there as if we are a bunch of jealous ppl. If you hadn't mentioned it, I wouldv'e thought you were Black. There are Black ppl with lighter skin and straighter hair than yours.

I can totally relate to the wig comments. I've got a thick, fluffy, coilly afro and I get people asking me if I'm wearing a wig all the time. I find it funny. I also get a few people asking to touch my hair. Sometimes they don't even ask. They just grab it! I don't know... Afro's are fascinating I guess. As far as the haters... screw em! It looks good and your happy. Thats all that matters.

the first few inches from the root are like this, but my ends are relaxed.
