he sounds the same to me live .. its just cuz the mic will be better in the stuio pluss hes not dancing so hes not out of breath in the studio. i dont think they have to edit his voice- its great as it is :D
They don't sound the same. But some of them can sing good live. This goes to show Zac Efron isn't only a pretty face, He's an awesome actor and a great live performer. Singers never sound the same live as they do in the studio. They always sound different. Listen the HSM cast during the live concert tour. They don't sound the same live either. You just can not replicate the same sound live as you can in a studio.
man he dont sound too good to me, not good at all, the mike even slipped out of his hand a bit at the start lol. im not a hater however, i do like zac, hes awesome in the movie, but he cant hold a candle to that live, this sounds horrible imho, if he's truly amazing, it isnt hard to replicate it the same, but the track record in the movie is full of effects and dynamics, not straight out of his lungs
i don't think it's practical or even important to expect him to replicate the soundtrack quality. personally, i think perhaps zac's fans (myself included) had not-very-high expectations, with him having to have someone else sing for him on HSM1 and all. so he was really commendable as a performer and it was a pleasant surprise. :D

Actually I read that he went into the studio and recorded the HSM1 songs. Disney wanted a higher chipmunk voice so they dubbed him. He didn't even know they did till he went to a premier and was shocked to hear someone else's voice singing his songs.
