That match was The John Morrison Show!!!! The Miz brought NOTHING to the match. We might as well have been watching Morrison wrestle a mop. The Miz completely sucks!! He is very average at best. Nitro is incredible, and I cannot wait until he becomes a world champion. What I like is that he is truly earning his way to the belt. He's not being handed a belt or getting the belt when someone is extremely vulnerable. Maybe his win will bring some prestige back to the belt, b/c right now it's a joke.
Although I think that JOMO should have won the match, I think that this is the perfect oppertunity for him to win the Royal Rumble and actuallt let someone young/fresh get a WM main event

@xCeRTiFiieDx Well Austin was a main eventer in 1998, 1999, and 2001 and Rock was a main eventer from 1999-2002. Cena has been on top from 2005-present and Orton has been a main eventer from 2006/7-present. Austin and Rock probably would have probably have gotten stale after a couple more years. WWE needs to push other guys and let other guys be in the main event.
@Fondrom Well you do need new faces in the main event because once the main eventer guys go away you just have a bunch of mid-carders in the main event.

Wade Barrett is like a good William Regal. I'm really excited about Barrett. It's no surprise he's not gonna be in Nexus. They have to go some place with him. He's the only guy in Nexus with any real presence. He's a big guy, and Vince loves them.

the reason i think miz is champ is to see how he will handle being champ like they did with sheamus last year at this time. they are "getting his feet wet".
I love having title matches and big matches on first because you dont know how long they are going to go. like if the time was 20min to the show ending and the main event starts, than you will say oh, they will have a 20min match and that ruins the whole element of suprise because of the time factor. with starting the show with it, you can go for the whole 2 hours and the win is more of a suprise.
Dude having a world title match to open Raw is an awesome unexpected treat and I love it, and damn was it a good match. It really was PPV quality, AND the crowd was really into it b/c THEY REALLY THOUGHT THE TITLE COULD CHANGE HANDS!!! And so did me and my buds! Great ending, I liked the fact that it was a (rare) clean win by Miz and it had a believable ending with the SCF on the floor. Was hoping for a Morrison/Miz title match at the Rumble, oh well. @JRJigsawyer Orton will probably win the title at rumble, and its rumored that their trying to get Cena v Orton 10 Years After Rock v Austin II, which is why they put the morrison match on raw and not at RR (Thats just what i heard)

btw here is an interesting point that i read somewhere online: in every PPV for the past 2 years every WWE or Heavyweight Championship match has featured Randy Orton and/or John Cena. the last PPV without either of them in a championship match was Cyber Sunday '08 with Jericho vs Batista for the Heavyweight Championship and HHH vs Jeff Hardy for the WWE Championship. now doesnt that say its time to expand on the roster so the upper mid-carders can get a chance? I think that not making the WWE Title Match the main event takes the prestige away from it. WWE put the title match on 1st. I really don't agree with that the match was booked as the 1st match.
I don't agree with Barrett being booted out of the Nexus. Also, I noticed something. On the RAW where Punk came out and got saluted by the Nexus. Not all of the members saluted him. So maybe the Nexus is gonna split in half the Wolfpack in the NWO era of WCW.
I think the only reason for the big title match to be at the end is to keep viewers watching the whole show so they can see the main event.However if the main match is good enough it should draw you into watching the rest.

@spinnernet1 I 100% Guarantee that King Sheamus will be dominating the royal rumble match to a point where he looks unstoppable until the timer clocks 0 and you hear "It's time To Play the Game!" He comes out I don't think he will win as I think Christian will (then vs Edge at WM). Sheamus and HHH continue feud in elimation chamber match and settle it at WM 27.
I don't think HHH will be in the rumble but I can see him returning and causing Sheamus to be eliminated from the rumble. Personally, I'm a big fan of Sheamus and I think WWE is dropping the ball with him. I think a move to Smackdown could give him a fresh run. When Taker returns I would love to see a Sheamus/Undertaker feud

I loved last night's raw as well. I thought both the miz and morrison looked great in the match. I didn't like the cage match as much. I knew orton was going to win. I did like seeing punk come down during the match. I really liked seeing him "screw" barrett.

Raw was great last night i can say that cause I was acutally there the miz and morrison was entertaning you can tell these 2 have chemistry an they have a real feud so it works for both ways and punk and bareet reminded me of lion king "scar and mufasa" lol ik weird analogy but once you think about it doesnt sound that crazy but good raw i thought.
the reason wwe probably put morrison vs miz at the opening was simply because wwe always save their storyline matches at the end for example in the main event steel cage match orton is the number 1 contender and cm punk turned on barret while at the beggining of the show was the best match of the night.
I thoroughly enjoyed RAW for the time in god knows how many weeks. All though, i do have to say that this specific show was basically symbolic of every single episode of RAW over the course of 2010.
Fantastic opening match, then an embarassingly bad incident involving Kozlov taking 3 attempts to throw himself over the top rope. Impressively good, then shockingly bad.

I take JR's point on his blog that Miz is seen as a champion who can be beaten on any given night, which makes it unpredictable in a way. The only flaw I found with the Miz/Morrison fight was that it was at the beginning of the show. WHY? If not PPV, then surely the main event of Raw?
I don't like the modern idea of walking through the cage door. it's really stupid when a guy like Barrett has taken out 2 guys and then tries to scale the wall (very slowly) when he could simply have walked out of the door at the side. It really irritates me when the door is just there and no-one wants to go through it. They should just go back to when you only won by climbing over the cage.

@kaymanm1 second raw without cena, first was january 4th the official raw vs tna monday night wars, Jeff Hardy debuted on tna and Evan Bourne challenged Sheamus for a #1 contender spot at the royal rumble, bourne/sydal snuck up on him floored sheamus in 45 seconds exactly and sheamus kicked out caught him in mid-air during a crossbody into the ring, slammed him down and bourne sold very great, plus he showed his ok on the mic.

WWE had a triple threat match between Jericho Orton and Edge to start Raw the night after the MitB PPV which could have easily main evented any PPV and we also saw CM Punk vs Chris Jericho in a Cage Match for the World Heavyweight Championship to kick off Raw back in 2008 so i dont think its that they didnt trust Miz and Morrison and it was an absolutely AWESOME match (pun intended)

@spinnernet1 Kane & Undertaker are tweeners I would say. Both are evil but often fight heels and Undertaker especially is very popular despite effectively being Satan's enforcer

I think the only reason for the big title match to be at the end is to keep viewers watching the whole show so they can see the main event.However if the main match is good enough it should draw you into watching the rest.

@jacobpenn100 trust me, HHH will be back in the ring. don't believe those wrestling website rumours. a lot of the stuff that they put on there is bullshit. just because he's working in the WWE offices doesn't mean that he can't still wrestle. the last thing that happened to HHH was Sheamus knocking him out of action. HHH's career isn't going to end like that.

@spinnernet1 I 100% Guarantee that King Sheamus will be dominating the royal rumble match to a point where he looks unstoppable until the timer clocks 0 and you hear "It's time To Play the Game!" He comes out I don't think he will win as I think Christian will (then vs Edge at WM). Sheamus and HHH continue feud in elimation chamber match and settle it at WM 27.

I don't think HHH will be in the rumble but I can see him returning and causing Sheamus to be eliminated from the rumble. Personally, I'm a big fan of Sheamus and I think WWE is dropping the ball with him. I think a move to Smackdown could give him a fresh run. When Taker returns I would love to see a Sheamus/Undertaker feud

I loved last night's raw as well. I thought both the miz and morrison looked great in the match. I didn't like the cage match as much. I knew orton was going to win. I did like seeing punk come down during the match. I really liked seeing him "screw" barrett.

Usually when they have the Title match at the beginning of the show there is a Swerve and then someone in that match wrestles again later in the nite.
I dont see Morrison being in a Main Event at WM which means IMO he will not win RR.
HHH or Cena will win RR, IMO

the reason wwe probably put morrison vs miz at the opening was simply because wwe always save their storyline matches at the end for example in the main event steel cage match orton is the number 1 contender and cm punk turned on barret while at the beggining of the show was the best match of the night.

I thoroughly enjoyed RAW for the time in god knows how many weeks. All though, i do have to say that this specific show was basically symbolic of every single episode of RAW over the course of 2010.
Fantastic opening match, then an embarassingly bad incident involving Kozlov taking 3 attempts to throw himself over the top rope. Impressively good, then shockingly bad.
The result of the cage match was made far too obvious.

Yo @spinnernet1, after my comment on your last video where I thought that Morrison had been swindled and Miz had been made to look weak, just saying cheers for the review and I can see your side of the debate. I take JR's point on his blog that Miz is seen as a champion who can be beaten on any given night, which makes it unpredictable in a way. The only flaw I found with the Miz/Morrison fight was that it was at the beginning of the show. WHY? If not PPV, then surely the main event of Raw?

I don't like the modern idea of walking through the cage door. it's really stupid when a guy like Barrett has taken out 2 guys and then tries to scale the wall (very slowly) when he could simply have walked out of the door at the side. It really irritates me when the door is just there and no-one wants to go through it. They should just go back to when you only won by climbing over the cage.

@kaymanm1 second raw without cena, first was january 4th the official raw vs tna monday night wars, Jeff Hardy debuted on tna and Evan Bourne challenged Sheamus for a #1 contender spot at the royal rumble, bourne/sydal snuck up on him floored sheamus in 45 seconds exactly and sheamus kicked out caught him in mid-air during a crossbody into the ring, slammed him down and bourne sold very great, plus he showed his ok on the mic.

WWE had a triple threat match between Jericho Orton and Edge to start Raw the night after the MitB PPV which could have easily main evented any PPV and we also saw CM Punk vs Chris Jericho in a Cage Match for the World Heavyweight Championship to kick off Raw back in 2008 so i dont think its that they didnt trust Miz and Morrison and it was an absolutely AWESOME match (pun intended)

I think if you have a Championship Match on TV it should always Main Event and the World Championship should always Main Event non-gimmick PPV's. I do agree with you that they didn't put it in the Main Event slot because of the Miz.
