  • Who gives their 18yo kid a 500hp car? That's just naive!! RIP.

  • Someone who has money.

  • "excessive speed and driver inexperience, not handling! "

this is true, his dad should have never let him take the car.

  • Lol, how many cars do you know of that could survive a 200 foot flight into a tree? BMW, Ferrari, Porsche, Ford, Chevy, what's the difference in this situation?

If you're referring to handling, you're wrong there too... besides, jumping 200 feet over that embankment (Google Jumbolair and you'll see how huge of a ramp it is) is about excessive speed and driver inexperience, not handling!

  • and with 5 people in side of the car the maximum weight it's achieved, so that was a bonus too :S

  • doctergonzo youre a fucking idiot. i hope you die in a car crash you low life piece of shit. go fuck yourself.

  • unfortunate. but they paid the price for being stupid. hate to say it, but this classifies as darwin. too many people in a bmw. too fast. not on a road that it'd work best for. if they wanted to go fast. that's what highways are for(at the speed limit at least).

  • keep the negative comments to yourself please. you didnt know them so why are you saying negative things. you know these negative comments doesnt hurt the boys that are already dead it actually hurts the ones that have lost these boys. so when you lose someone important please leave a comment on here and tell me exactly how you feel now that the you have lost a loved one. you'll be damn pissed if i say something negative about your lost one. but i wont cuz i'm better than that.just be repectful.

  • That almost happen to me in my GTI. I hit a turn on the highway that Ive gone threw a million times before at high speeds, but this time I didnt account for the 500lbs extra I had in the car. Got sideways but was fortunate to correct. I didnt realize 5 people in hatchback makes a difference in handling. Split second decisions can be costly, always air on the side of caution.

  • voi vittu!!!

  • terrible accident. i feel sorry for the family and friends of the victims. especially the passagers.

  • i lived in Ocala for a few years and was shocked to hear about this. i am sorry for the families involved but i find it so hard to forgive or feel sorry for the driver of that vehicle...although the boys also made the choice to get in the car...may they rest in peace but may this teach a lesson to many.

  • Spoiled brats in a High performance and High priced car. Please they deserved it. Retards thinking they can race. I feel no pity on stupidity.

  • they may be spoiled, but they didnt deserve to die. nobody deserves to die(of course with the exception of murderers and rapists).

  • low life scumbag...

  • WOW! What a shock! I would have never thought that a kid on a Saturday night with 500 hp under his foot would ever kill himself and his friends!

For our next responsible adult activity, lets give some kids loaded handguns. What's the worst that could happen?

I hope the owner of that M5 was charged with 5 counts of manslaughter.

  • That wouldn't do any good the owner is dead.

  • you ignorant people. negative comments don't help anyone. we know these boys. you have no room whatsoever to judge any of them. especially josh. he didnt mean to harm anyone. Im sure thats the last thing he had in mind. Its sad to say but im glad he's not alive so he doesnt have to deal with the bullshit everyone says. I can't sit here listening to this crap if i cant take it i dont know how he'd be able too. you people are crazy. heartless. && cruel. now live with that.
  • Strike 1: Driving on pavement which was not a public road.

Strike 2: Traveling at a high rate of speed through an unfamiliar area.

Strike 3: Driving much too fast despite visibility limited by darkness.

I'm sorry. Looks like it's still "three strikes and you're out."

  • 3 were ejected. Let me guess. It was one of those "I'm sitting in the back, I don't need my seatbelt."

    Horrible story.

  • It wouldn't have mattered. They all would have been dead seatbelt or not.

  • Shocking that that car used to be an E60 M5...

  • I personally think all teenagers are stupid, and I hate every one of them with a passion. The only ones who get my respect are the ones I'm related to, the ones who're sick and dying, and the ones who're no longer with us.

That said, I do feel bad for these kids' families, and in a way, for them. They had their whole life ahead of them and probably could have done some great things. And now, their families have to live with this forever. That's the tragedy.

  • well then dumbass wouldnt they fall in the category of no longer being with us

  • What a stupid ass kid, shame, what a waste of life.

  • everyone does stupid shit at that age. They just had the resources to get a nicer car than most of us.

My Respect to the families...may they RIP

  • i call shenanigans. i didnt see blood or bodies anywhere.

  • I am genuinely sadden by this news.

There are 4 victims in this accident. The driver is the culprit and a mass murder. The day the accident happened is also one of the victims birthday. Try explain that to his parents.

  • an object in motion will stay in motion, unless acted upon by another force. the tree was the other force.

  • The tree isn't a force. Force is acceleration * mass. Tree wasn't accelerating. Simple case of Newton's 3rd law.

  • yeah but dont forget that the tree was the stopping force in this situation.... its just like the saying... "its not the fall that kills you... its the sudden stop" in this case it is "its not the flying in the mid air that kills you.. its the tree your heading straight into that kills you"

  • as insanely stupid as that is, its terrible that parents will be receiving the phone call from the police.

  • unfortunately i fall into this statistic, but i will drive safe

  • too bad the driver died. i wonder what would have happened to him if he were to have survived. i heard he was 18 so hes would be charged as an adult, whatever the charges would have been

  • OMG

  • Yes, as sad and as hard as it is to say, these kids were idiots. Did they really think they'd survive if they pushed the car that fast? If they honestly thought they'd just go for a joy ride and then go home unscathed then yes they were idiots.

I agree the father was an idiot for giving a teen such a powerful car. I'm 23 and I couldn't even handle the power of a 2000 V6 Chevy Malibu!! Went out speeding, crashed, totaled the car, and am very lucky I walked away from the wreck.

  • Although Top Gear and 5th Gear say the BMW M5 feels like it can fly, obviously it can't. LOL young, dumb, rich kids. But hey we've all been there.

  • I haven't been there. I've done stupid things, yes...but this is on a whole other level of stupid.

  • Can't say I've driven off the end of a runway in a BMW M5 so I guess this is a whole new level. They've raised Darwins bar!

  • 3 were good friend of mine and id like it if yal kept your stupid jokes to yourself

  • PeyJ247, i agree with you 100%. Although I didn't know anyone involved in the accident, I believe people expressing their negative opinions on the matter is unnecessary. It was a tragic event and I'm very sorry for your loss. May they R.I.P.

  • Sorry about your loss.....I live nearby, where this accident happened, only a few miles away...I remember seeing it on the news first thing Sunday morning...It saddens me deeply to see these young men, with so much promise and so much to offer...to suddenly have their lives taken away...I frequently make deliveries at the Jumbo Air estate..and think about them every time I'm there....I find myself appreciating my children more as my heart goes out to the families.

  • I own a BMW M5 and I will never crash like that because I had to buy the car with my own hard earned money and because I have 21 years of driving experience and because I have a wife that I love and don't want to make a widow, and because I know I'm not invincible, something I didn't start to understand until I was 20 and didn't fully understand until I was 30.

Buying a child a high performance car is totally irresponsible, and this is the unfortunate result.

  • I can't say that I have any sympathy for the driver dying. It's stupid to drive a high-performance car like that, when he barely had any driving experience. So yes... it is fair to call him an Idiot.

  • Of course they were idiots.

What can you expect of mixing five 18-20 boys in a post party, plus a 507 Bhp car and a joy ride over 140 Mph? Shit bound to happen!

The father of the deceased driver is also an idiot for giving a 507 Bhp car to an inexperienced 18-year old driver. Well done sir... you killed your own son.

  • it happens over and over. maybe their dead body photos should be posted at every high school across the nation to prevent the next terrible accident. I also think the parents ahre some responsibility in these accidents.

  • Stupid stuff like this is why your parents want to know who your friends are, where you are going, what time you'll be back, who else is at the party, who are their parents, where are the 'rents, and why you get the cell phone lecture. Bad things happen fast. And you can't take it all back. Sympathies to the families; it is a true loss.

  • i personally knew one of the people involved in this accident. have some respect for others. he made a mistake, he was a kid. its a tragedy. you are a bigger idiot than anyone for taking time out of your day to post something like this when people are greiving.

  • At no point did the video mock the victims. It was trying to prevent more people from having to grieve in the future. Sure the driver JUST made a mistake. But, consider that if he or she had lived, that mistake would be punished with reckless endangerment and multiple counts of manslaughter - good for 10 or 20 years in prison. The driver and victims were probably all interesting kids with lots of potential - what a shame.

  • the description of the video says that they are idoits... these boys were NOT idiots. they were young and made a mistake. The intention of the driver, who is a dear friend of mine and my family, was NEVER to hurt anyone. It was an accident, a terrible tragedy, and instead of addressing it as such, they instead call them idiots. Not fair.

  • How accidentaly would you have to bee to go speeding down the runway and not seeing end of the tarmac?

Question: Cars are made for driving on roads or not?

  • Im sorry, but I have to agree w/ataofaichi here. It was a tragedy, and im sorry for the loss. Condolences to those who deserve it. But at the same time, its not an "accident" to ILLEGALLY enter a gated community and enter onto a federally controlled airstrip. Then, to PURPOSELY take your car to the limits. Thats not an accident. Its pure 100% STUPIDITY. Cant say he deserved it, but he was asking for it.

  • Some cars are made purely for driving on public roads. 500hp high performance cars aren't, they are built for tracks and for racing, and can also be driven on road for sissies who don't want to use their car to the fullest.

  • The Darwin award part I think is insensitive for the parents or friends who are grieving. Kinda rubbing it in but damn makes me think about my own past driving habits
