  • I dont know where to start...

I am 17, and it is a promise I made to myself. "I am going to restore a '69 Mach 1 before I die".

I have been doing my research.. Could you give me an estimate on what you think it would be to restore an abandoned Mach ?

    Your car is gorgeous...

    Thanks in advance.

  • The car looks great. I'm on the other end of the build. Mine is just getting started. What motor do you have in it?

  • @HOWLETTZER It's a 351W. Rebuilt to mostly stock specs. I bored it 0.030 over and put flat top pistons in it with a 4 barrel intake (originally was a 2). It's got 2, 2 chamber flowmasters with an H-pipe.

  • @HOWLETTZER I built the engine back when I started and I was 17. Now that I've got more money and knowledge, I probably would've gone a little wilder with it,but I love the sound and it has torque out the wazoo! Just would runs out of breath at the top end a little earlier than I'd like. Good luck with your resto!

  • Thanks for the response. I'll get some put on here when it gets further along. Have you done anything to the suspension or is it all stock as well?

  • @HOWLETTZER The rear has a Helwig sway bar and KYB gas shocks with the stock leafs. The front has the Mustang II with true coil overs and the rack and pinion stearing. It also has 4 wheel disc brakes. It drives 1000 times better with the updated suspension and stearing. I'm considering updating the rear further to the four link, but that's probably a ways off.
