In the OLD TESTAMENT, pork and certain other foods were forbidden, but in the NEW TESTAMENT, God told Apostle Peter that these foods were now sanctified, he also used this as a double meaning to allow Gentiles (non Jews) into God's holy family. Women covering up meant modest dress, not wearing a tent.

It wasn't until the founding of the Holy Roman church that it became aggressive. Muslims invaded their neighbors, southern Italy, Sicily, North Africa, Spain, France, and the Eastern Roman Empire and took the Greeks as slaved until the fall of the Ottoman Empire in the 1920s.
