  • is silk screening how you did this? i need it to look professional and do it so i can make a lot of shirts in a short amount of time. will scanning the picture work? or do i have to paint the image first because the colors wont turn out solid when they print it rite? and how will i get it on a shirt?

  • @TheRidGrid You need a silk screen machine or company to do it for you. You also need the artwork to be solid black....google "how to make a screen print" and there are tons of articles and how-tos Good luck!

  • i want to make t shirts and i happen to have a design but in pencil and colored pencil. if i want to print a shirt do i have to paint it? or when i send it to the online store will the color be solid? and do u mass produce the t shirts or do u have someone to do it for you?

  • @ShiiTWaa I have a scanner, and scan the larger items in pieces and then stitch them all together in photoshop.

  • Thanks man...that is "Chrome 45" by Viernes 13. You can snag it on itunes...they are a sweet Ska band out of LA. The paint is FW black acrylic ink....

  • Nice! How did you print it on a t-shirt? Did you use screen, digitaltransfer, flock or flex?

  • Thanks Daxus! I imported the inking into PhotoShop for clean-up and did the digital coloring in Illustrator.

  • Is hotpress watercolor paperblock the same as illustration board?  I looked for it at the local art store and couldn't find any. Also what is clayboard?

  • It's close but it's a finer smoother paper...you can use illustration board or any other hot press paper no problem. Try them both and see what works best for your style...

  • Just picked up the new issue of Garage today. Love that magazine.... probably my favorite. I really enjoyed this. It's cool to actually see the man behind one of the designs for Garage at work. Now I just have to find out where to get one of those shirts!
