Because not all disabilities can be diagnosed during pregnancy or birth. I've heard that 90% of fetuses diagnosed with Down Syndrome are aborted. And no you couldn't just kill a child or an adult for becoming disabled.
Good vid man!!! I was surprised with the comments on my video really, soooo many people would abort wtf and you are right....i could trip over my shoe-lace and become "disabled" or be in a motor vehicle accident and get an ABI..
Working in this field really does open your eyes about disabilities!!!
After working with people who have disabilities for nearly 6 years, i would NOT abort a child if i knew i had a disability, and disability!!!!!
the thing that you also need to think about though is, if you didn't abort, what kind of life would it be for the child? it would be extremely hard on the child not just yourself.
@courtleex I already explained this... disabled people can have very fulfilling lives. I mentioned that plenty of the people I work with are happy, have independence, hobbies, passions etc. It's usually just a cop out that people use when they say they're thinking about the baby's future and so it's best to abort the baby for its own sake. That's usually a load of crap.
@Jennivision thats only if the parents have the money to raise a disabled child and there arent too many people out there that would adopt a disabled child
Great stories! Thank God that my family helped me to live as normal a life as possible when I was growing up. When I came out I was ten weeks premature and there was a time when people didn't think I would be able to breathe correctly, much less walk. (My lungs had to be inflated.) My mom has said that I was baptized by a Catholic nurse who prayed over me to live.
@benvolio15 Some people's attitudes are really awful. I mean, some of the comments on Daniel's video are just sick. They're basically saying that YOU should have been aborted just because you're not physically perfect. It's just so delusional. Plus like I said, anyone can become disabled at any point in their lives... we can get killed at any time... we can have mental illness that's totally unpredictable and there's no test for that!
@benvolio15 I mean, mental illness makes my life a living hell occasionally, should I have been aborted for my own sake if there was some kind of test that could predict if I was going to develop it? I know plenty of people with disabilities who are way happier than I am. Life is hard, life has pain... for everyone! You absolutely can't predict who will be happy and who won't. Gah, reminds me of people who say they agree with abortion if the parents arent financially secure etc

I think it's up to the parents, some parents just can't handle it.
