K, this is definitely one of my favorite stories ever and this version is a lot of fun. I also just got done reading Jacob T. Marley (it's kind of a prequel to Christmas Carol, like Wicked is to Wizard of Oz). Anyway, awesome book. It made me want to go read Dicken's Christmas Carol again. I'm a major Dickens fan and somehow Bennett retains the Dickensian style.

I just wished they kept the Ghost of Christmas Past as the Fairy Lady, like in the other versions! This version of the X-Mas Past Ghost at 1:00 kinda looks like a weirdo. The 'flaming-head' was a neat idea, but the way he breathed & talked didn't sound right. It kinda looked like he was about to molest Scrooge.:( Otherwise, this version would've been perfect for me!

Still a great CG version though! Definitely more entertaining than the other ones! lol

LOVE jim carrey, but this movie is the MOST HORRIBLE depiction of the book ever. throughout the movie Scrooge is thrown, launched, battered and generally physically abused for no apparent purpose and with no apparent damage. The ghosts, up to and including Marley, do not seem to be the friendly, helpful and caring spirits of the book but seem, instead, to be enjoying making Scrooge suffer rather than helping him to learn. horrible.

I really, really liked this version, except for one scene that bothered me. The part where Marley is speaking to Scrooge, and gives the monologue where he explains that his business on earth was neglected because his true business was to be a good man, rather than an earner of money. It always gave me chills when I read it and in the movie they made Marley's jaw unhinge so he has to move it up and down- playing one of my favorite scenes for laughs. :( Other than that, I think this is great!

The thing is, if you've ever read the book/story, the story itself is pretty scary. This movie is almost a literal, word-for-word adaptation of Dickens' story. It is, in my opinion, the best version of A Christmas Carol you'll find. The music was beautiful, the animation flawless, and the story very touching. It's the only version that made me cry, and I didn't find ACC to be a very emotional story. Must see for sure!

There are some directors that are taking it beyond dark and scary where it seems like every day is Halloween, then there are other directors that are making it too sugary and unrealistic, because they don't want parents complaining. When you're comparing the old Hunchback of Notre Dame and the new one...wow..

I saw this movie with my fiance and it was more epic for me than it was scary.

Disney will no doubt offer a printable discount coupon for the movie but it can only be used for the 4-disc Blu-Ray+Dvd+Digital Copy+Blu-Ray 3D/"Blu-Ray II" combo pack. How much the coupon will take off of this combo is hard to say. I am hoping that Disney will offer a $20 or $30 off coupon because the original price of this combo pack is supposed to cost $44.99, Disney's most expensive combo pack yet.
