i have a friend who says synyster gates is far better than buckethead and ive been arguing the fact that its not a fast solo that brings someone to like a song. its the way the song hits you in the heart and soul. that is why buckethead is best. all of those people that say he is just technical at a guitar dont understand that each one of his songs is a story that is deciphered in the way that he plays. so in my eyes buckethead is better than all guitarist that play today.

Personally, I don't see how you can compare Slash and BH. They are two very different emotion styles. Both have soul in their work, but Slash has a much more chaotic vibe VS. BH's smooth flow. It's like comparing a thunderstorm to a river. Both have unbelievable soul, just two different souls.

@FixerSevScorch and @numetla there are so many great guitarists out there Ritchie Blackmore, Joe Satriani, Eric Clapton, Tony Iommi, Frank Zappa, Alex Lifeson...to name a few. I bet they could all play eachothers music because they are all great but i have to agree with numetla because Buckethead rights more powerfull and emotinal riffs/songs. Judge a guitarist by what he rights, not by whos more popular or plays faster.

@numetla :) slash... cant legitimately be compared to buckethead. slash is a guitarist, buckethead is an (and i find this to be an understatement to a degree) artist.
@thijsld it's not hard to look like buckethead at all, but slash at least is more "unique" in that way that you can't copy his face, but i prefer buckethead, slash is average to good, but buckethead is just close to perfection in skills
@numetla yes, he does put alot more emotion into his playing. but that doesnt change the fact slash has created some of the most famous riffs in history.
obviously im fighting a losing battle on this video because half the people are so indie that cant accept anything that falls into mainstream music - such as slash's status as one of the world's greatest guitarists in history.
but thats just my opinion. buckethead rocks regardless

I listen to all types of music: blues, classical, rock, metal, techno, R&B, and rap. I stumbled upon this man's work two days ago and cannot believe the versatility and talent he holds. He is the "three" on my G3 List... What an artist!

Be honored you can listen to him while he's still alive and not after he goes away (cause that's the moment everyone will truly appreciate his genius). @thijsld it's not hard to look like buckethead at all, but slash at least is more "unique" in that way that you can't copy his face, but i prefer buckethead, slash is average to good, but buckethead is just close to perfection in skills

@numetla yes, he does put alot more emotion into his playing. but that doesnt change the fact slash has created some of the most famous riffs in history.
obviously im fighting a losing battle on this video because half the people are so indie that cant accept anything that falls into mainstream music - such as slash's status as one of the world's greatest guitarists in history.
but thats just my opinion. buckethead rocks regardless

@FixerSevScorch i don't care about mainstream(most mainstream still sux imo :P) but slash is overrated i think, of course he has created some of the most famous riffs, but so has james hetfield and he is nowhere near epic
i think slash would agree that buckethead is one of the most skillful guitarist alive, probably still not the best, but whatever
but i really hate to hear arguments against great musicians like buckethead or paul gilbert that are just "he is only fast"

There is a guy who made a channel titled Bucketheadhimself, and is taking his and other people's work and posting it as "BUCKETHEAD LEAKED" This is not buckethead, just some guy posing as him.
Furthermore, when I posted a comment on his channel stating that he wasn't buckethead, he removed the comment and promptly blocked me.
Don't support this guy.
