@reyantm If you are not rooted you cant do it. If you want to root easily use the odin method and the zedomax kernal. The zedomax kernal gets up to 1.7 ghz 1.6 stable. No crashes. Find Zedomax at epic 4g hacks d0t c0m or you can go to xda and learn all you need.

@DavyJoness at 1.5 ghz you are safe. Long as you do not go over 1.8 I think you will be fine. Ther are other kernals out ther that can go higher. I think the desperado kernal might get 2ghz.

Is anybody know about this problem?  When I install "kernel rom 1.6GHz" or "Tegrak overclock Ulitmate 1.6GHz" I get crash when I run the test from [Quadrant Standard Test "Benchmark"] & [Linpack test] but when I run [Antutu benchmark test] is ok! not crash. I have a problem about "CODE DECORDING AAC" on "Quadrant Standard Test", crash and freeze the phone. Why is "CODE DECORDING AAC" cost the problem?

Without this "kernel rom" you can also install "Tegrak overclock Ultimate" from Android App Store. After rooted the phone, everybody can install this app. This app normal boot is 14+Ghz but you can do manual boot up from 1.4+Ghz to 2GHz if your device can handle also it give you the option to adjust the "mv voltage" for each core. Mind I can go maxium 1532GHz dual core. When I reach to 1.6GHz it crash, freeze and restart the system. I hope this help for everybody who's looking for overclock

@LadiesMan660 all aosp roms that i have tried it worked on. cyanogenmod doesn*t take much mb. and the fully version take around 100mb for download go to cyanogenmod webpage and look for galaxy s2 in devices. if you wan*t to change kernel siyah kernel is very nice and does work on almost all gs2 roms. got almost 7000 in quadrant with it!!

overclocking a mobile phone like that is going to make it real hot. Unlike a PC you can`t just pump in more cooling. I wouldn`t recommend it unless you got spare money for a another phone.

Doesn`t get hot at all on default 1.2, maybe a little warm if you run an intensive game for a while, but it`s obviously designed for that where 1.5 is not.

@wannabegangsterbrah The SGS2 does overheat a bit. I'd suggest dialing the clock down just for that game if you're going to play it for a while (unless it's lagging and OC fixes the lag).

Use the tip-edge of your handset only and squeeze on it gently with your hands, the less contact with the device from your hands, the less overheating issues you'll experience. Your body is extra 37 C degrees the device got to deal with. Try it.

@montee322 I am on AT&T. It's a power saving feature. It will switch to H+ when you need it. Not a problem. The data speeds are pretty much equal to or faster than any other HSPA+ phone I've used (on AT&T).
