@colonel88 I would recommend you to get yourself a pair of Etymotics MC5's they don't have boomy bass and a dark sound signature like the Sennheiser CX300, but the clarity and instrument seperation of it is amazing and the isolation is around 32-42db which is 2.5 times more than the CX300. If you want yourself a good pair of earphones with a fun and warm sound signature get the soundmagic eh11
I'm considering buying these off eBay for $25. It's not from Hong Kong or any other country, but from Australia. It says its genuine in the description and comes with a warranty. They've sold about 40, and the sellers had 100% positive feedback. Should o get them?

I bought mine from Play.com but directly from Play dot com not just onthe site from PlayTrade, they were £6 more expensive then the ones i had a feeling were fake, but it was worth it. The fake ones break after only a few weeks its worth paying a bit more for the real ones plya the genuine ones are covered by sennheiser for a year so anything happens to them they will repair or replace.

@unchartedterritory lol mine costed me around 120AUD from retailer (mine's definitely REAL and 2nd edition). However it only lasted 9 months before the volume and quality coming from the right earbud significantly dampened. So they aren't that durable in my opinion. As for the quality, definitely great for its price (sennhaiser style sound quality which if ur a newcomer to sennhaiser products, then u won't realise how good they really are until about 2-3 weeks later).

Hey, I bought it recently for, like you said, 24bux from my.it.world09 ( Feedback Score Of 552) . I'm 100% sure it's fake now. No bass sounds and piano feels really unnatural. I'm going to get a real one at DSE. Stupid me left a positive feedback to that conman.
If you're happy with Sennheiser's sound signature I recommend you to have a look at Sennheiser IE6. They are great for gym and sound isolation but they lack highs a bit if you don't mind. I personally found my perfect headphones which are a pair of Denon AH-C 551.
One more thing.

I see that this video is 2 years old. Maybe by the time you have binned those headphones. If you are still thinking about Bose Triports don't bother, the sound is good but they are uncomfortable and they fall off all the time.
Please, be warn if you are used to the standar headphones, this earphones needs to be inside your ear canal by preasure to hear the bass properly, and that can be very annoying.
One of the reasons why you can't justify spending more on earphones is because you're using an iPod as your source. At least use an amp if you're going to review any earphones with your iPod. Anything coming out from an iPod without an amp is just really bad.

Sound is NOT on the lvl of Sennheiser, there is a symptom of chip membranes (all u can hear is a lot of bass and sound is rly badly defined (and no, digital EQ doesn't help - since on many devices cause loss of sound quality ).
On the other side-i use my lovely HD555 for about 2years now and they are just....epic.
25 USD... it's ok price i think but 68 USD (or 50Eur)...

In ear Skullcandy are much better than people may think, listen for yourself to the dirt cheap INK'd,retails for $20 and can be found for less, impressive for the money. Titan , absolute bargain and sounds killer, Holua another great performer.
Again the bad rep comes from the cheesy on/over ear lineup from Skullcandy and the kiddie marketing.
lol i bought a pair of earphones abit like these and compared it with my friends cx300....the thing is is that i didnt expect the cx300 to feel so fragile cuz the wire can be pulled out real easily if tugged hard enough and plus headphones like these can pop is hit hard enough ( 1 hard or a few weak times) but most eardphones suffer from that but yea this earphone is realy good for the first few months.

Honestly, there are better Over ear Headphones than the 202's. Forgive me if Im wrong, but they are really hard to drive I think out of a normal source. So maybe look into some JVC RX700s if you want over ear, or these if you want canal phones.
Well that's fine man. But my first pair and so far only pair of over the ear cans are a pair of theSpeakerCompany's HDpro7s. They cost close to 100 dollars normally but I got them when they closed out their headphone line for 14 dollars a pair. Bought 2. Anyway, this same company is owned by the same company that owns Denon, which is a hi-fi speaker maker. So they are decent phones. Im just trying to say, that when you go better, it's alot better. When I got my iPod Touch I was stuck with the bundled ones for a while, and to be honest you don't really notice just how bad they are until you get some different ones.
I saw some in Argos on sale for £10, and they where 1,000,000% better than the iPod ones. From a brand like Pasaonic, you don't expect it - but they're great earbuds!

I don't know what kind of music you listen to, but rubbing chord noise is particulalry annoying in the quiet solos (and unique moments!) in Mozart's concerti or chamber music for example...
Replace Mozart with Schubert, Beethoven, ... it works too. :)
CurtAAA Transmission through the chord is a serious issue ! A few manufacturers (Shure) add a soft polyvinyl sleeve around the chord near the earphone for dampening the vibrations and reducing the induced noise.
Thanks for the review. You saved me some cash. I have to have an actual in-ear canal earphone because my ears don't have the "shelf" for the regular iPod phones to sit in. If I'd gotten these, they'd just have fallen out.
The only time that would ever be a problem is when you've got your earphones in but no music on... and who the fuck walks around with earphones in and no music... seriously that is just scraping the barrel of shit complaints about these decent earphones...
I've had these cx 300's for over 2 years now and while they worked during that time frame, they were amazing, sound quality was a lot, and also the bass. These earphones can take a lot, mine only broke because i guess i wore them out, i used them literally every day, connecting them to my laptop and mp3 player. Buy these, for its price they are definitely worth it.
skullcandies are no means bad. its just that they're more suitable for anything that lack a lower-mid range / upper-bass range such as classical music performances.
denons and sennhisers are for everything else that has a "full" sound
No man, these are a step up from the Skull candy's. These are actually the most comfortable in ear's because thy aren't quite canal in-ear, they fit in the canal more than regular ipod phones but don' stick in as much as some thing such as the INK'D skullcandy's. The INK'd probably have a bad amplitude tolerance and also have a smaller range of frequency than the CX 300's. The CX300's own skullcandy.
Plus reviewing a pair of headphones with an MP3 player is just illogical, MP3 sounds like sh*t and I doubt you are using a lossless format. Really, really good headphopnes will make MP3 sound worse because they'll start highlighting the poor sound quality and the missing frequencys of MP3. You really need to try sticking them into a CD player or something with half decent sound output if you want any idea of what they are capable of.
That's harsh seeing jarv is right and you are completey wrong. CD audio is over 1411kbps and though high bit rate mp3 can sound good, they are still inferior to the original un-compressed CD audio that they were likely created from.
Very nice review. I just ordered these badboys for $25 bucks off of Amazon.

In ear Skullcandy are much better than people may think, listen for yourself to the dirt cheap INK'd,retails for $20 and can be found for less, impressive for the money. Titan , absolute bargain and sounds killer, Holua another great performer.
Again the bad rep comes from the cheesy on/over ear lineup from Skullcandy and the kiddie marketing.

Good review.
For any portable on the go in ear units will outperform over the ear cans.
Right now there are a good few very good quality in ear from Sony,Parasonic,JVC and Sennheiser. All priced below $30US
heck even the Skullcandy INK'D(under $20US!)are descent.
No one should be stuck with the terrible noise phones that come with the iPod.

lol i bought a pair of earphones abit like these and compared it with my friends cx300....the thing is is that i didnt expect the cx300 to feel so fragile cuz the wire can be pulled out real easily if tugged hard enough and plus headphones like these can pop is hit hard enough ( 1 hard or a few weak times) but most eardphones suffer from that but yea this earphone is realy good for the first few months.

Nah, I just picked up a legit pair from the store today and that was the first thing that came to my mind : how cheap they feel. I think its just the fact the wire is pretty thin...
The sound is great on these though, I definitely recommend these to anyone looking for new headphones.

I have 300-II's
apparently 300-II's replace 400's 400-II's sit beside 500's, and 200's replace 300's.
but 300-II's seem to have to take a long burn-in time, at first they sound really tinny, but I have to use 'Heavy' on my PSP/iPod, and on my Comp. I just muck with the freqs.
then they sound great.

Honestly, there are better Over ear Headphones than the 202's. Forgive me if Im wrong, but they are really hard to drive I think out of a normal source. So maybe look into some JVC RX700s if you want over ear, or these if you want canal phones.

I decided to get some HD201s. Im not really an audiophile so to me they are the best headphones ive ever used.

Well that's fine man. But my first pair and so far only pair of over the ear cans are a pair of theSpeakerCompany's HDpro7s. They cost close to 100 dollars normally but I got them when they closed out their headphone line for 14 dollars a pair. Bought 2. Anyway, this same company is owned by the same company that owns Denon, which is a hi-fi speaker maker. So they are decent phones. Im just trying to say, that when you go better, it's alot better. Plus alot of people love the RX700s

No, they're awful.
When I got my iPod Touch I was stuck with the bundled ones for a while, and to be honest you don't really notice just how bad they are until you get some different ones.
I saw some in Argos on sale for £10, and they where 1,000,000% better than the iPod ones. From a brand like Pasaonic, you don't expect it - but they're great earbuds!

I don't know what kind of music you listen to, but rubbing chord noise is particulalry annoying in the quiet solos (and unique moments!) in Mozart's concerti or chamber music for example...
Replace Mozart with Schubert, Beethoven, ... it works too. :)

CurtAAA Transmission through the chord is a serious issue ! A few manufacturers (Shure) add a soft polyvinyl sleeve around the chord near the earphone for dampening the vibrations and reducing the induced noise.

Thanks for the review. You saved me some cash. I have to have an actual in-ear canal earphone because my ears don't have the "shelf" for the regular iPod phones to sit in. If I'd gotten these, they'd just have fallen out.

I've had these cx 300's for over 2 years now and while they worked during that time frame, they were amazing, sound quality was a lot, and also the bass. These earphones can take a lot, mine only broke because i guess i wore them out, i used them literally every day, connecting them to my laptop and mp3 player. Buy these, for its price they are definitely worth it.

skullcandies are no means bad. its just that they're more suitable for anything that lack a lower-mid range / upper-bass range such as classical music performances.
denons and sennhisers are for everything else that has a "full" sound

No man, these are a step up from the Skull candy's. These are actually the most comfortable in ear's because thy aren't quite canal in-ear, they fit in the canal more than regular ipod phones but don' stick in as much as some thing such as the INK'D skullcandy's. The INK'd probably have a bad amplitude tolerance and also have a smaller range of frequency than the CX 300's. The CX300's own skullcandy.

Plus reviewing a pair of headphones with an MP3 player is just illogical, MP3 sounds like sh*t and I doubt you are using a lossless format. Really, really good headphopnes will make MP3 sound worse because they'll start highlighting the poor sound quality and the missing frequencys of MP3. You really need to try sticking them into a CD player or something with half decent sound output if you want any idea of what they are capable of.

First of all, CD's output at a MAXIMUM of 128kbps. MP3 players such as the iPod can output songs easily over 300kbps!
It depends on the bit rate of the song you downloaded!

That's harsh seeing jarv is right and you are completey wrong. CD audio is over 1411kbps and though high bit rate mp3 can sound good, they are still inferior to the original un-compressed CD audio that they were likely created from.
