The title is misleading. You should have said "These skulls represent "trusted" sources". it might stop from getting a virus, but it will not keep you safe. You can still get caught downloading.
For anyone wondering the skulls are given with very good reviews. Meaning they don't upload viruses and such. The green ones mean VIP which is the highest you can get. And the pink ones mean trusted. However, don't simply download from trusted and vip members there many other uploaders that don't upload viruses.
@ballader1 I heard I can get arrested for illegaly downloading games and stuff. now everyone wants to know: "how can I avoid that other people can see that I downloaded stuff and I won't get arrested or getting a virus?"
@ballader1 Huh? I'm asking the music being played during the video, what's the name of it? And can you post a link for me or upload it by itself please? I'd like to write some music to it :-)
That will only protect you from virus. The skulls are used to show who are trustet user accounts and have uploaded good content. Try clicking on "peers" in the program you use to download, and you will see the ip addresses of uploaders/downloaders. They can also see your ip address. That is Where the real danger is, because companies can use that to see who downloads their stuff. So dont think you are safe just because of skulls:)
@ojkrazer Anybody can see your IP through anything on the Internet and if they are skilled enough they can trace it back, even from your favourite games site. With that logic if you want to be 100% safe, don't use the Web.
@ballader1 True and true. However my logic wasnt that you should be 100% safe or dont use the web:) My point was that you need to be more safe than just downloading from skulls. Try masking your ip, entering a private tracker or use another persons internet. Nice tut though, and wery nice channel.
@ojkrazer I totally agree but this tut was for not getting a threat, not about not getting your privacy compromised which is another big section and exceeds Pirate Bay and torrent web sites, it's about the Web. I agree with your points, Thanks!
ATTENTION PIRATEBAY USERS THE GOVERNMENT IS TYING PO PASS A BILL THAT WILL CENSOR COPYRIGHTED DATA EVERYWHERE AND FOREVER CHANGE THE INTERNET!! GO HERE AND LOOK: a m e r i c a n c e n s o r s h i p dot org (no spaces)
So...what your saying is that if i were to upload something and it was legit an i was a very trustworthy guy you wouldnt download from me!?! Everyone has to start some where!!!!
@ImAKillZoneFan I understand that, so if you upload good content you will get your skull from a mod guy! Also check the comment there might be good ones without a skull, but I always try to look for skulls. Just put good stuff on PB and that will get you started.
PLS can anyone tell me what a skull does? I mean, if I would (for example) download Skyrim which was released today, why does a skull protect me? I mean, I still download the full game which is kind of illegel because it costs about 90 $ Can they track down or catch people if you they download torrents with skulls????
Stop saying "virus".....they hardly exist anymore. What you get on most websites are spyware, hijackware, keyloggers, etc. These are collectively referred to as "malware"...they are programs that invade your computer with an outcome that may benifit the creator or owner. "Viruses" are replicating files. They are created for no other purpose than as a prank, or just to see if it can be done. When people who are supposed to be computer savvy keep saying "viruses" its kinda lame.
@Tressiensia I know that... check me out a little see my vids, this video is for noobs, noob's dont know what a hijacker or an adware is...... (for instances)
@KuzKezGaming That was the original security center icon, notifying me about having User Account Control disabled. With Common sense no virus can get through, trust me. Oh, by the way the Windows Security Center reports the condition of your antivirus software, but it doesn't say whether the software has found a virus or not.
@ballader1 WRONG!!! not 100% safe...the anti piracy got smarter and hack skull accounts to upload their fake crap and track down people...You will see that their is pink or green skull so you decide to download what ever it is and find out it was fake and your ip adress just got trace...READ comments and block your ip adress any way you can
@serj960 btw it seems to me that ie9 is a lot faster than chrome in most sites. if the beta is so fast then image what the final would look like (i guess it would have an amazing speed)
Is it illegal

Real simple.
DL AVG free anti-virus software.
If there's anything in a Pirate Bay DL that's a virus (and sometimes there is) you can delete it before opening it.
I just said too much.

uTorrent has been reported to log torrent related information, you should only trust open source software when it comes to downloading torrents.
