Kosovo is currently about 88% Albanian speaking and by most accounts it has been since 1700. The London Conference of 1913 erred by assigning Kosovo to Serbia. It should have been assigned to Albania...and also the northwest corner of Macedonia should have been assigned to Albania.

@EdwardRommel there are things called censuses you know.Unlike Albanians we Serbs had censuses in our medieval state since 12th century.According to preserved census from 13th century 97% of household leaders names in Kosovo were Serbian.In 14th century 95%.Turkish census in 16th and 17th century 80-85% Orthodox Christian,15%-20% Muslim.Major shift happens after 1690 and great migrations.In 19th century it was 70% S 30% A but after 1878 Serbs went down under 50% due to HUGE expulsion by Turks.

That might be true if you go back to the 12th century.

I have done some of my own research and read old books from the 1870's to 1920 at archive,org. The old books indicated Kosovo was described by visitors and tourists as majority Albanian speaking in the late 1800's.

Kosovo was just a part of the Ottoman Empire so naturally the people moved around within the empire.

If you look at eastern Germany and Poland you will see different demographics in the 12th century.

Why should Albanian (from Albania) choose to live under Yugoslavian regimes in Kosovo when they could live under the Albanian regime in Albania.
