  • Cmon, you serious? -- learn to use google. Once an application has been made, parties to the 51 and 67 conventions cannot legally 'refoule' an asylum seeker. This of course happens frequently all over the world, but it is illegal according to intl law. The US observes this law, by and large (though many would argue the US doesn't do enough for the refugee problems it creates, such as the Iraqi situation)
