  • Great song, but this video takes too literal an approach. Ruins the metaphor cruelly. Always good to hear Cloud Cult though!

  • @squidstudios i completely agree about the literal thing, there was something off that i couldnt describe but thats it, great song nevertheless

  • They're giving our secret away to the aliens!

  • 27 people's water did not come to life.

  • a lot of you are a bunch of retards who take the lyrics of a song way to seriously. Mainly this song is saying everyone's body is mostly made of water. The main thing you should pay attension to is the music.

  • @Shaereub Actually I think a more widely excepted analysis is that it's about a boy who died, got an autopsy and then got cremated,

  • Like "Oh Howl", But more overated and less interesting and complex. Huh.

  • ... I love this. It's beautiful... <3

  • /this was in my recommended videos and I don't know why, but I do like it :)

  • 1. Open a new tab.

    2. Go to google.

    3. Type in "rainy mood" and hit enter.

    4. Click on the first link.

    5. Go back here and play this song.

    ENJOY!!

  • @blessmeish that is freaking amazing

  • @blessmeish That was shit

  • These guys Inspire me I am A Live painter, I paint what the songs would look like if music were shape colors faces emotion and visual stories.

  • it really is a beautiful song <3

  • quite possibly the saddest song

  • I thought this was a happy song. It's kind of a beautiful idea that everyone is water, that we are all from the same roots. Not sure if I believe it, but it's a beautiful thought.

  • Like this if you knew this. The album," They lived on the Sun" sort of symbolizes Craig's feelings when his son dide (this album was being made during his depression). The album Light Chasers means to let go. In their case it ment Craig and Connie should let go of the pain of the loss. In other words they should not to be afraid of starting over and having another baby (which they did).

  • I don't understand why there's a dislike button. If you don't like it, go watch/listen to something else you like.

  • That intro that goes til 1:30 is amazing

  • But will it blend?

  • its waesome but its too short!!

  • saw them live last night! they have CRAZY ENERGY!!!!!!! soooooooooo GOOOOOD!! met craig superrr wesome guy, this group is just ridiculous! BEST MESSAGE IN MUSIC AROUND TODAY!!!

  • 2:22 ewww ew ew ew ew x[

  • Of course it's sadness, it's about the death of their child. But it's also happiness and acceptance, because death can also mean renewal - life is beautiful that way. The song isn't one or the other, it reflects both... and that's just one way in which Cloud Cult is amazing :)

  • Good god damn video, especially for an unofficial music video, good work.

  • i was listening to this on my deck and an old lady stopped and complimented my music. this stuff is timeless <3

  • this songs sad but interesting.

  • This is so sad and adorable.

  • How could any person dislike this??

I'm very sorry that you're a miserable human being.

  • @Nublyk I love this song, but maybe people hate the message or the lyrics. Not everyone gets the same message from a song.

  • @deboerdolf It was released in April of 2008. But yeah. It's awesome.

  • this song should be longer this is a very creative group

  • What CD is this on?

  • @matthewsch12 This song is on the album 'Feel Good Ghosts', released in April this year. Buy it! You won't regret it.

  • What CD is this song on?

  • I love Cloud Cult, especially this song. It makes me feel so peaceful and instills me with a sence of goodness but also causes a great sadness within me. It connects with me because I have been though this type of hell.

  • minnesota ftw

  • I just saw them yesterday for a free show! and it was awesome, they just casually walked in the front door and we got to meet them!!! They are so nice, GO MINNESOTA

  • I love this song!!!!!!!

  • 3:00 Am. I wake up. I smile and remember this song. I play it. <3

  • This is one of the most magical songs i have ever heard

  • aw...this song is stunning....it touches my soul.

  • I never fail to cry when I listen to this song

  • I love this. The song is beautiful and the animation is a beautiful compliment. A real work of art. Thank you.

  • "to see if you're still there" <3

  • if anyone calls cloud cult emo they're genre-retarded. they're indie, damn near as good as indie gets next to electric president.

  • @jakethomasenjoi

anyone that gets their panties in a bunch about genre classification for music is retarded. just listen to what you like and dont worry about it.

  • @regieeuronymous Hahahahahaha!!! Absolutely and terrifically well-said!

  • @regieeuronymous Exactly. :) Besides, it's fucking indie. As in, they do their own shit.

  • @regieeuronymous truest words ever said.

  • I love all these videos for the small (and best) bands hidden in that little cupboard at the back of youtube, the media focuses too much on new wave club, pop and RnB. The new stuff isn't even RnB, it's crap. If the media focused more on music like this, music with meaning and emotion, music with passion and control, the world would be a much better place.

  • One of the most beautiful songs i have ever heard,i have a huge spiritual connection to it. I think of God

  • Why are they so good?

There's nothing emo about this song, it's about impermanence and how we all fit into something much larger than ourselves

  • I love the violin and cello parts in this song. The addition of strings really sets them apart. Never before have I encountered a band where I absolutely adore all of their songs

  • excellent post video song.....definitely favorited

  • I LOVE THIS SONG but it take to long to start but heyy as long as my poptarts are right here im good . . but yea IM BLACK lolz and were not usually into this Kind of Music but this is A W S O M E this is like some deep emo song that goes t the heart lolz

  • @pleasuretreasurekat Don't have to be lol'ing, man. It's cool to like other music. I feel sorry for the black community now in America. You get pressured so much by other black people to only listen to hip hop that if you don't, you're ridiculed. Remember, man, back in the day we had great rock artists like Chuck Berry and Little Richard. In fact, a majority of my favorite rock artists and bands from the day were black. BTW, I listen to all music as long as it's good, that includes hip hop.

  • @givememymoneybiotch Alot of songs can be considered "cliche" emo bullshit, but people still listen to them (Not just emo's) For example, im not emo, but the mix of instruments and violin makes the beginning easily the best part of the song.

  • @war444444 agrreeed. I am probably one of the most preppy people you'll ever meet. But I recently found Cloud Cult and Gary Go, and I'm in love. The beginning is DEFINITELY my favorite part of this song, although the entire thing is wonderful.

  • @war444444

Really I feel like this music is not so much emo as it is happiness disguised as sadness.

Maybe that is all of the world though. =)

  • @The1Modern1Machine

Close ... it's sadness disguised as happiness ...

  • @anewman66

maybe sadness and happiness are just a variation of ecahother

  • @The1Modern1Machine isnt that the definition of emo?

  • @The1Modern1Machine srry but angels dont burn ppls bodys

  • @The1Modern1Machine The world is more like sadness disguised as happiness...

  • @The1Modern1Machine ...deep

  • @The1Modern1Machine Very well said, but regarding the emo part: only few people know what emo is nowadays. They think they know it but they don't, when it's emotional and teenagers listen to it it's emo. Lol, that makes me laugh and angry at the same time.

  • they grab my heart and dont let go until the songs over

  • I'm not a big fan of the vocals, but the musicianship is amazing. These guys are great.

  • Thank you Cloud Cult

  • This 'all mainstream is terrible' hurts indie music and it's fans, you know. It makes us all seem like condescending, pretentious jerks.

  • They sound so much better live! They came to perform at my college while I was working, but fortunately I worked at the place where they performed.

  • Lost Songs From Lost Years Was By Far Their Best Work

  • oh fuck off everbody its just music

and it dont matter anyways cuz

minnesota locals trump all this shit

  • @IheartMIDNIGHTBEAST not all mainstream sucks. your just saying that so you can be more 'indie'. this song is cool, but when you guys bitch about how shitty mainstream is you sound like douchebags. music is supposed to be shared, and just because the bigger bands become more popular, doesnt mean they suck

  • x factor is on tv in britain and i hate it sooooo much.this music saves my soul.

  • 0_o I moved away from the tab at the beginning and came back to the fish eating the guy...

  • good but imo boring. Atmosphere still owns MN

  • @munkabum You did a wonderful job making a video for such a transcendental piece of music. When I heard this song, I figured there wouldn't be an official video for it but I was hoping that someone out there had done a visual interpretation. It's very much like I thought it would be, except in my head I pictured it claymation-style, like a Tool video. Of course that would be way more expensive. Thank you for this video.

  • oh my god, this is so beautiful

  • This song is sooo sad but about the circle of life how death and produce life for others with sacrifice.

  • insanely disturbing video.

  • Does anyone else think that the beginning of this song sounds like the adventures of tintin theme song?

  • No "emo" song can express as much pain as this song does...

  • No "emo" song can express as much pain as this song does...

  • This is now my new favorite band there freaking amazing and the music video is sick as fuck everyone should get high and listen to this song

  • @futuza18 You just sounded incredibly stupid. This song is amazing without the influence of drugs. If you need to get high to enjoy something, you're not getting the point of it.

  • @webbies4 lol you have no idea man jk yeah i know This song is pretty sick just trying to get a reaction out of ya

  • @webbies4

I completely agree. The main problem with weed is that it cheapens beauty. Would this be nearly as good or as entertaining sober? I've listened to goddamn awful music stoned and thought it was incredible, but sober found it to be barely passable as songwriting. This band is fantastic in its own right, listen to it sober and enjoy its beauty.

  • I loved this song - the lyrics, the music... But I strongly dislike this video. How it shows every word of the song. Why? I thought had a depth. Why make this superficial video to it? WHY? The song will never be the same...

  • What are you talking about this music video is way awesome i think you need to smoke up and watch it

  • its not official but its stillgud

  • Lots of drugs. Lots.

  • @LilithMood They wrote over a hundred songs to deal with the unexpected death of their two year old son...not drugs.

  • @lmburdette And by any chance does your argument nullify mine?

Unless you're some of the guy's brother or dad to prove me wrong, they might as well be coping with the loss using drugs and composing and maybe both and after all, who gives a damn, the song is awesome.

You people should stop taking things so seriously =P

  • @lmburdette hahaha. who killed puck? is my favourite album by them, and it happens to be about a guy who does a lot of drugs.

  • @lmburdette *listens to song again* well that was depressing

  • @lmburdette After his death, Connie went into the woods for 2 years, while Craig locked himself in a cabin. This was their way of dealing with the loss. Craig took his emotions out on his music. A lot of those songs are on the album Aurora Borealis. Thumbs up if you knew this. PS: There's a documentary about this story.

  • @lmburdette After the death of their son, Connie went into the wood for a year or 2 while Craig locked himself in a cabine, taking his emotion out on his music, and keeping himself isolated. This was their way of dealing with their son's death. Later the band helped him turn that negative energy around. All those songs Craig wrote during this time are on ONE album (he didn't write 100 songs during this depression). PS: There's a documentary about it.

  • This song was just plain odd at first but once i learned the back story to it it became both beautiful and saddening....

  • Creepyyy.

  • @RaspberriFields Me,too :)

  • haha this song is cool

  • angels are supa creepy. great song.

  • Bioshock

  • anyone even slightly interested in this band should check out the DVD about them "No One Said it Would Be Easy". You can get it from their web site. And their new album, "Light Chasers" is a masterpiece

love this video btw - great job

  • i was just listening to THE AVETT BROTHERS-''i and love and you'' on here (one of my fav bands) and noticed somebody had recomended listening to this band as they thought they were in the same league.

well, i think this song is shit and dont know how anyone can compare the two!! people...check them out and judge for yourself

  • @drsmeed1 Listen to more of their stuff before critisizing.

  • @drsmeed1

I love avett brothers but cloud cult kick ass too.

    look: .youtube dot com/watch?v=qMpOhwUTUwc

  • this is horrifying.

  • just met Craig Minowa. He is so talented. It does simply go straight to your heart.

  • This song is so powerful even more so when you know the story of the child they had who died at 2 years old for no reason at all

  • @NapsOver206

    jk, he was 2.

  • This song still haunts me.

  • My best friend sang this at her moms funeral 2 weeks ago. It was so beautiful, just piano and her. I wish I could have recorded the moment.

  • angels suck

  • SCARY

  • @loganishollow

    you are mearly water.

  • this video would be nice if the faces weren't terrifying.

  • 22 people accidentally clicked Dislike :(

  • I am crying my eyes out. It goes in right past your ribs to your soul.

  • reminds me a lot of Aquaria, the video game

  • cloud cult can do no wrong in my eyes

  • wow...this song makes me want to cry. not cuz its bad but cuz its amazing! i love this band!

  • LOVE THIS SONG

  • I LOVE INDIE

  • wow epic

  • The guys son died at the age of two, and his song was born through the death of his son. The entire album was. His son fell asleep in his crib listening to the somber strains of Mozart's "Requiem" and, for reasons that remain unexplained medically, never awoke. Connie discovered the lifeless body the next morning. The couple's shared pain would become too much for their marriage to withstand, and they eventually divorced.

  • @extervationalist after i read this i watched the video and it all makes sence! this video was extremely great and literal but very sad!

  • @extervationalist Trippin' me out man. What are you talking about?

  • i like how the video is totally literal

  • This a such a beautiful thing. Thank you for doing this.

  • good song !

    a litle bit a sad !

  • I've watched this video so many times. i can't get over it as a whole.

  • great song :)

  • Most. Disturbing. Video. Ever. and i loved every second of it! ROFL!!!

  • the angels look scary

  • very pleasant rythm...

  • How can you ever cope with losing your baby? Thank you for sharing your emotion with us.

  • His son died at the age of 2. This song obviously comes from that tragedy. In fact the whole album did. It's amazingly beautiful.

  • I love the video, the music even better and the words a great! very moving

  • This video is so disturbing... Yet the song is purely amazing.

  • unfreekingblelevible!! insane! im goin to go see them this summer cant wait!

  • I love the song and the melody but i can't see the video it makes me sick :(

  • Shame on anyone who believes this is a one hit wonder. This band is too good for the mainstream - which generates "one hit wonders". All their songs are about much richer things than the superficial, numb, mainstream bullshit most artists write about. Sadly, many people are uncomfortable talking about or even thinking about these kinds of things, and until the world is ready Cloud Cult will not be mainstream, and therefore never be a "one hit wonder" artist.

  • @snowmanechoes you sound like an indie asshole.

  • @MurphyBros70 you sound like a big fat old troll.

  • @snowmanechoes well said

  • this is good shit!

  • deserves more views, even if this song is like a one hit wonder for the band.

  • @effatta

They are not a one hit wonder band, get learned.

  • @ItsAlwaysSunnyInGR actually they are a NO HIT WONDER. But they're one of the greatest american band I know of. They're pure bliss.

  • @inasafeplace /agreed.

  • i love this song even thoe it scares me a little
