This song was actually a tribute to the lead singers son who died at 2 years old. His wife is also the visual artist of the band...who made the visuals for this video.
a lot of you are a bunch of retards who take the lyrics of a song way to seriously. Mainly this song is saying everyone's body is mostly made of water. The main thing you should pay attension to is the music.
I thought this was a happy song. It's kind of a beautiful idea that everyone is water, that we are all from the same roots. Not sure if I believe it, but it's a beautiful thought.

saw them live last night! they have CRAZY ENERGY!!!!!!! soooooooooo GOOOOOD!! met craig superrr wesome guy, this group is just ridiculous! BEST MESSAGE IN MUSIC AROUND TODAY!!!
Of course it's sadness, it's about the death of their child. But it's also happiness and acceptance, because death can also mean renewal - life is beautiful that way. The song isn't one or the other, it reflects both... and that's just one way in which Cloud Cult is amazing :)
I love Cloud Cult, especially this song. It makes me feel so peaceful and instills me with a sence of goodness but also causes a great sadness within me. It connects with me because I have been though this type of hell.
I just saw them yesterday for a free show! and it was awesome, they just casually walked in the front door and we got to meet them!!! They are so nice, GO MINNESOTA
I love all these videos for the small (and best) bands hidden in that little cupboard at the back of youtube, the media focuses too much on new wave club, pop and RnB. The new stuff isn't even RnB, it's crap. If the media focused more on music like this, music with meaning and emotion, music with passion and control, the world would be a much better place.
I love the violin and cello parts in this song. The addition of strings really sets them apart. Never before have I encountered a band where I absolutely adore all of their songs
I LOVE THIS SONG but it take to long to start but heyy as long as my poptarts are right here im good . . but yea IM BLACK lolz and were not usually into this Kind of Music but this is A W S O M E this is like some deep emo song that goes t the heart lolz
@pleasuretreasurekat Don't have to be lol'ing, man. It's cool to like other music. I feel sorry for the black community now in America. You get pressured so much by other black people to only listen to hip hop that if you don't, you're ridiculed. Remember, man, back in the day we had great rock artists like Chuck Berry and Little Richard. In fact, a majority of my favorite rock artists and bands from the day were black. BTW, I listen to all music as long as it's good, that includes hip hop.
@givememymoneybiotch Alot of songs can be considered "cliche" emo bullshit, but people still listen to them (Not just emo's) For example, im not emo, but the mix of instruments and violin makes the beginning easily the best part of the song.
@war444444 agrreeed. I am probably one of the most preppy people you'll ever meet. But I recently found Cloud Cult and Gary Go, and I'm in love. The beginning is DEFINITELY my favorite part of this song, although the entire thing is wonderful.
@The1Modern1Machine Very well said, but regarding the emo part: only few people know what emo is nowadays. They think they know it but they don't, when it's emotional and teenagers listen to it it's emo. Lol, that makes me laugh and angry at the same time.
@IheartMIDNIGHTBEAST not all mainstream sucks. your just saying that so you can be more 'indie'. this song is cool, but when you guys bitch about how shitty mainstream is you sound like douchebags. music is supposed to be shared, and just because the bigger bands become more popular, doesnt mean they suck

I completely agree. The main problem with weed is that it cheapens beauty. Would this be nearly as good or as entertaining sober? I've listened to goddamn awful music stoned and thought it was incredible, but sober found it to be barely passable as songwriting. This band is fantastic in its own right, listen to it sober and enjoy its beauty.
I loved this song - the lyrics, the music... But I strongly dislike this video. How it shows every word of the song. Why? I thought had a depth. Why make this superficial video to it? WHY? The song will never be the same...
@lmburdette And by any chance does your argument nullify mine?
Unless you're some of the guy's brother or dad to prove me wrong, they might as well be coping with the loss using drugs and composing and maybe both and after all, who gives a damn, the song is awesome.
You people should stop taking things so seriously =P
@lmburdette After his death, Connie went into the woods for 2 years, while Craig locked himself in a cabin. This was their way of dealing with the loss. Craig took his emotions out on his music. A lot of those songs are on the album Aurora Borealis. Thumbs up if you knew this. PS: There's a documentary about this story.

The guys son died at the age of two, and his song was born through the death of his son. The entire album was. His son fell asleep in his crib listening to the somber strains of Mozart's "Requiem" and, for reasons that remain unexplained medically, never awoke. Connie discovered the lifeless body the next morning. The couple's shared pain would become too much for their marriage to withstand, and they eventually divorced.
Shame on anyone who believes this is a one hit wonder. This band is too good for the mainstream - which generates "one hit wonders". All their songs are about much richer things than the superficial, numb, mainstream bullshit most artists write about. Sadly, many people are uncomfortable talking about or even thinking about these kinds of things, and until the world is ready Cloud Cult will not be mainstream, and therefore never be a "one hit wonder" artist.
Great song, but this video takes too literal an approach. Ruins the metaphor cruelly. Always good to hear Cloud Cult though!
