I feel a lot of drummers like Ecko486 said, need to accompany the usage of a double bass for speed or aid of rhythm when meanwhile, a typical jazz set up like this should prove more then enough for any good drummer.

I drum myself and specifically use this setup and I believe it's the best, but that's just my opinion.

you can't really say any setup is the best cause it's very personal what you prefer,i see alot of drummer who have what i think is stupid setups and can't imagine them doing any fast death metal songs,until they start playing and totally nail it....
