Was 15 and remember this, Laser Nation, Friends of Carlotta - when a new tune being released would be exciting! So much music about now, that I am not so sure there is such a thing as a classic any more - but this is a proper classic!
i was on 2 be continuum page from wikipedia and their genre for the band is gonna be acid rock so i google acid rock and i see this incredible orgasmic music >:D HAPPY RAGE!
heavy as hell.my brother took a tape of this tune to school i recorded it for him.and all his mates went crackers.they didn't know about tune's.still makes me laugh when i play this tune.if your gonna educate em may as well be a banger.after that they were all hooked on the music.nice.
This was the start of things for me. My friend was going out with a Mancunian called Chris and Chris introduced us to this (as well as a few other things ...) - So glad I was a raver - the poor kiddies of today - don't know what they missed, eh?
@spikeyisland70 Couldn't agree with you more, sadly there will NEVER be a scene like it again. Kids have nothing but commercialised crap to indulge in, gangster rap, jungle, all bollocks with attitude. Call me a snob but I'm glad I was part of the scene, 1989 one of the most memorable years of my life.
@spikeyisland70 ey were not all bad i got a crew of mdma peace making music loving dudes and girls but i do admit your tunes are extraterrestrial ... peace out
I remember dancing to this at the Pink Cadillac down in Wakiki hawaii... Yep just about 1990! I remember Jelly's had to order it for me, to actually get my hands on it.
yeah remember this from the dome too. I remember going there for the first time with mates, getting there late, passing an ambulance crew carrying some poor girl out and then having to tip toe around all the crashed out bodies in the entrance. Nobody on the door, we just walked in and got sorted out straight away, I'd never dropped before but thought if this is what it does for you then give it here!. Do you remember French Kiss by Lil Louis from the dome browno71?
Manhattans, Newcastle Upon Tyne 1989 just before the rave scene kicked off this was a killer tune. It had a more commercial part upstairs where people would wonder down to the real hardcore sweaty dance room down stairs. Will never forget when the DJ span this tune and to see the panic in the faces of the plastic crowd when twenty plus tripping acid stomping maniac’s hit the floor!! Don’t think they had seen anything like it in their lives and probably never returned thank god!
oh my lord The Thunderdome! I was everywhere in 89 etc, Hacienda, Blackburn, Biology, Joy, Blast Off, Sunrise, Energy, Special Branch, Shoom, Promied Land, Queens but Thunderdome all nighters with Steve Williams and Spinmasters took some beating
Oh yes! This was one of those tunes that in the right clubs would pack the floor and in the commercial crap holes would result in the sharons and tracys running for the bar.
not the music that is also not my thing but im talkin about somethin greater than ourselves right now. your both poop and shit because you are the poop that i like to shit. ...does that mean you are also me? think about it, society
PROPER THUNDERDOME (manchester) CLASSIC. HAVING IT BACK IN 89 SWEATING ROCKS OFF, WENT OFF HALF WAY THROUGH CAUSE SOME TW*T THROUGH HIMSELF ON A SUB STATION. SELFISH PRICK!!!!!!
Hacienda Manchester taking my first trip and going mental with this tune is something i will treasure for ever. I loved how the tune just never ended. It was the first tune that made me get up and realize the hardcore of dancing hard whilst on a high.
they had raves in the 90's lol just jokin im a young one i never really heard this type of acid rock b4 i really like it wish i was with u in 90 laters
Fantastiiiiiiiiic.......When i was 16 years old, this track was my true drug...............Tnx very much for add this track ...WooooooooooooooooooooooooW
Brings back alot of memories for me. So pleased its on You Tube. I used to go to a club called Manhattens, Newcastle Upon Tyne and this was played all the time. Ended up buying a cassette from the DJ with it on, played it in the taxi on the way home lol.
Frank De Wulf was and still is one of the most unsung heroes of his time. Techno purists tirelessly bang on about Derrick and Juan and all that lot but Frank was creating new waves throughout Belgium and the rest of Europe at the time
A classic from my clubbing days. The version I remember best was the one with the 'Smoke On The Water' riff at the start.
Before I bought the 12", I had an edited version of this on a Belgian 'Hard Beat' (offshoot of Newbeat) compilation, which contained another great track done in a similar style to this - 'I'm Gonna Beat Dis' by Agaric. Belgium produced some great club tunes in the late 80s/early 90s. Who remembers MNO's 'God Of Abraham'?
Man i remember this in Konspiracy in about '90, down in the basement near the caves, a sea of skinheads bouncing up and down, used to scare the shit out of me, in a good way though ha!
ooh, well there's quit a lot of great tunes I loved to play, you should checkout discoggs for more info. I do remember that playing in the UK was absolutely fantastic. I remember, machester, leeds, coventry and many others... Great times! Long time ago though! ;-)
