@FaithfulSam Its not the lyrics people cry about, its the vocals.. Tarja's voice is amazing, and gives that opera-like feeling to it.. Anette will never become as good as Tarja..
I'm not hating on Anette, she's a great vocalist and a great addition to Nightwish, its just my opinion that Tarja sounds better..
Still, old Nightwish or new Nightwish... I love them both!

@cuber1 Well then obviously people have different views of what they find most pleasing in music. Sure I like a good voice as much as the next person. I think both Tarja and Anette have beautiful voices, but what really drives me back to Nightwish has ALWAYS been the lyrics. Nothing made me fall more in love with Nightwish than listening to Tuomas spill his soul into his music with his poetic lyrics. Both new and old, he's always carried what I found to be the true soul in Nightwish.

Tarja had a terrible cold recording this. You can hear it in the beginning. Actually, she was ill during the whole recording on Century child.
