  • do you think you could give me a coupon on a hv30?

  • nice, i got the vixia hv40... not much difference except progressive 24 fps recording.. runs tapes slower to get the actual 24fps video.

  • So you can't use a Camcorder as a webcam via USB on a Mac?

Cause I have the MacBook Pro late 2008 unibody and it doesn't have firewire :(

  • So does this camcorders still take DV tapes then? I'm confused

  • I have Canon Optura XI DV cam and shoot with no tape and no SD card. Just firewire cable to MacBookPro into iChat or QuickTime or iMovie. Sound comes from camera mics but I'll be trying connecting to sound desk to take sound from stage mics when shooting my son's band Black River Drive.

  • yes

  • im looking to buy a sony vx 2100 and i was wondering if you could get me a coupon or somthing like that.

  • canon gl2!! shit thats a nice camera. the gl2&2 and the vx1000 and vx2000 are great for filming skateboarding.

  • I want a 2 in 1 digital HD video/camera that has at least 54 megapixels photo resolution, good zoom (more than 12X if possible), a built in flash and memory that can be expanded by a memory card, hopefully for less than $1000. Any suggestions?

  • The JVC HD-10

  • 54 mega pixels your an idiot

  • Every time I look up anything to do with electronics your videos always come up!! How much stuff do you have??

  • I am thinking about getting one. They are only $599.

  • where did you find that price?!

    PLEASE REPLY

  • Samy's camera...and right now there is no sales tax.

  • I have that camcorder and it records really amazing!

  • Can't you use a usb to firewire adapter to mount the usb camera as a live stream?

  • GL2?!

  • Hello Chris. Thank you for your videos!!!

Maybe you can help me on this question:

If I record in 25p and then render (?) with 1920x1080 resolution, is my movie 1080p?

Nobody could answer me this question...so I hope you know this :-)

    Ciao!

  • 1920 x 1080 is 1080i!

    OMG!

And use either 24 or 30!

  • Yes, it's 1080i. That's why I asked if it's 1080p. P!

  • No you need to do a proper pulldown effect to get true native 24/25p with the hv30, the hv40 however has true native 24/25p!

  • i have an hv30. what kind of wide angle lens are you using? do you know where i can get one at?

  • watch my test video

  • your just jealous of his awesome freakin skills!

  • i was just saying how cool he is. deal with it or leave

  • @AJCShow you're*

  • @PeterFoldberg I apologize for my mistake :)

  • how much is it?

  • I'm quite interested in making a purchase. You said you could get a discount on this camera. If possible, could you tell me what i have to do to retrieve this discount?

    thank you,

    Christian

  • what did you pay for it

  • Do you get standard def. as well as High Def. from the component out video connector on this camera?

  • Hey, I got the hdv 30. How do I download video from the camera to Imovie on my mac laptop?

  • lag

  • Well, it is (was) a live stream, so the quality will decrease significantly, especial frame rate (which causes lag).

  • does the HV30 have an external mic input?

  • @toclarify

    yes

  • u can use USB to stream instead of firewire

  • The HV30 is a great camera. I was tempted to buy the XHA1, but you can't beat the price on the HV30!

  • I Got View #911

  • Me too lol

  • Wierd, I Got It Again...

  • do u wanna sell ur gl2?

  • i think this camera is a lot better, you should lower the color a little bit though

  • a bit jerky

  • the picture is a lot better now.

  • are you sure? looks as crap as usual

  • is it possible to stream from the Flip Mino? I really want to be able to?

  • No unless you plug it in to a capture.

  • i am noticing that you have some lag with this cam, and i dont think you had some before

  • Ive got the HV20, I used it to stream for about 2 months until my ISP Shouted at me :P

  • I got this cam and love it.

  • flip flip flip

  • impossible to be 1st

  • y has like no1 commented..........but i kinda notice a diff

  • I was definitely debating between the Canon Vixia HV30 and the Canon HG20. The only thing that really turned me down from the HV30 (with the exception of the price) was the DV and the fact that it still uses the DV tapes (if I'm not mistaken). I had to go all digital and stick with the ACVHD, especially since it just flows with Final Cut (mac).

  • Not sure if you are a avid videographer or not, but the Hv30 is the better choice of the two. It uses HDV which is accepted natively by Final Cut Pro. AVCHD is coming along, but still lacks the amount of data that HDV outputs. Also when working with AVCHD and FCP, you need to convert it to Apples Codec which can be time consuming as well.

  • Yeah, I've seen the quality of the videos of the HV30 -- and I love them much. However, I prefer to avoid tapes. I honestly am not an avid videographer -- honestly, I just started getting into it, so I still have lots to learn. I used FCE4.0 - and I haven't had an issue with converting anything. I would definitely love to have an HV30, however I was able to get the HG20 for $600 - so I stuck with that.

  • Mini-DV is digital and it flows even more with Final Cut ;)

  • nice
