Teepo chose to stay with Myria and you kill him shortly before confronting her. Your party believes in Ryu and the Brood that the world should evolve on its own, rather than remaining unchanged in Myria's care. Peco/Yggdrasil believes Myria is defying humanity's will and you kill her to be free.

@LittleStarfish06 Isn't 4 the prequel of the series? It shows how Deis comes into this world and gets to be so strong, and the origin of the brood. Plus, the bird clan can still fly.
@Zorafin It makes sense. But in BOF 1 Nina can turn into a giant bird which she couldn't in BOF 4 and that is the true power of the Windians which they lost over time when they bagan mixing with other races. Thats the way it is stated in Breath of Fire 2 at least.
The desert only covers the continent that Myria's city is on, and it existed before Ryu and friends arrived there. The rest of the world still has life.

That's why Rei was starting to become evil with revenge and Nina is a Princess anyway that's against things like that.
And well... The world does need change, for certain reasons, and both The Brood and other humans need to prove their strength. :)

Let Momo continue her research, I'm confident she can do good to the world. Rei can go to a pelt store and get skinned, that's the only conribution it'd ever make. Ryu can lead his life with Nina, with wyndia's influence, set a rule of diplomacy instead of war amongst various nations. Also, GET RID OF THE DAMN MONSTERS FFS!

I can't decide the lives of innocents for them, it's their choice. The only problem here is powers like Ryu's and Rei's, which can become a threat to others in the hands of the wicked. So....there are two things to do to get the benefit of both original options, without the disadvantages.
1: Empower entire populations such that even their power can be easily succumbed, through tech or other means.
2: Plant Yggdrasil in the middle of the desert, Myria taking care of it which I'm sure she can manage. This staves off the desert, allow people to lead their own lives (there are already things like monsters under Myria's 'guidance' so she's not doing a very good job, tell her that) and have Yggdrasil who is present wherever plant life exists, to keep these things in check and make sure there is no abuse of such 'powers',
I actually chose this ending first because I didn't look at any spoilers. I looked at the Desert, I looked at the Dragon Zombie, the Elder, Balio, Sunder, and Mikba, and I thought "this fictional world would be better off without this power."
Can you honestly say it's a good thing that Ryu could turn into the Kaiser at any time? And we don't know for certain that Momo can make new mecha. The good end shows Caer Xhan collapsing, what a waste of tech. And why didn't Peco make a plant *anyway*?
Oh, and Rei's a unstable Weretiger. And they're all wanted fugitives anyway, with a history of killing people, some of whom were defenseless (which makes them equally guilty of 'playing god' if you look at it like that).
You know, I wouldn't call this a bad ending, because nothing bad actually happens. Tyu, a threat to the world's balance and harmony, decides to let go of his power, lest he becomes the cause of a catastrophy.
Instead, he decides that it is better that the goddes continues to keep helping the world, protecting it from the desert and watching over the living creatures.
I would call this a pointless ending, because it means your whole journey was wasted, and even worse Teepo died without
Justification for his demise. For the sake of Teepo's memory alone and what he died for you should decide to keep your powers. Just imagine crossing the entire world, overcoming creatures no man has ever faced, meeting death close numerious times in search for an answer as to why the brood had to be exterminated. And the answer in a nutshell turns out to be "You are too dangerous to be allowed to live"
It's a bad ending. The world under Myria's control was unchanging like this ending said. Her babysitting the world the way she was, was impeding the progress of the world and it's inhabitants due to her insecurities. It had no true chance of thriving under such a static rule. So basically, Ryu is stuck with some pretentious bitch in a room with a dick in his hand with no vaseline for the rest of his life and the world is screwed even harder.
You make it sound as if the world would 100% change for the better. If you carefuly read the talk between Myria and your party, you will see that basically Myria manages a stalemate with the vast dangers that the dessert represents and with the humans and their craving for technology that will inevitably lead to wars and death.
Under Myria's rule the world wont change, but if she is to be gone, the world will have to face the dangers by itself.
And even on the odd chance that the people manage to survive their lives will be full of strife, because they will care only for their survival with no other goal possible. Even if they manage to harness any technology to support themselves, they will eventually create guns with which wars will be waged.
Myria simply takes the save bet - better the world dont change, rather than gamble their small chances to survive.
Survival was always the goal of humans so I don't see why you are bringing that up. If Ryu and his friends were strong enough to survive through the desert, as well as going through towns that had people living and surviving, what makes you think that they couldn't survive without Myria? She totally underestimates the abilities of a human beings survival skills and because of this insecurity, Teepo and most of the Brood ended up dying because of it.
And their lives full of strife? If they succeed in harnessing technology and the rest of the secrets the world has holding in it, their lives would be better, not worse, regardless of war.

This babysitting doesn't allow them to take on the challenge of fending for themselves and discover all the mysteries in the world that could possibly make their lives truly flourish. Well, she wasn't exactly after world domination or destroying the planet. She was kind of like over protective mother who didn't want kids to play with dangerous toy.

Teepo bought into Myria's story enough to where he was willing to kill Ryu to "save the world" as she said. He tried to convince Ryu to freely give up his powers, but when Ryu refuses, he leaves Teepo with no other choice. And yes Teepo is dead.

They remade it for the PSP, but the SCEA rejected the English version, so only parts of Europe, and Japan got it.
Tough luck I suppose, then again I have the remake so I'm OK.

I can't decide the lives of innocents for them, it's their choice. The only problem here is powers like Ryu's and Rei's, which can become a threat to others in the hands of the wicked. So....there are two things to do to get the benefit of both original options, without the disadvantages.
1: Empower entire populations such that even their power can be easily succumbed, through tech or other means.

2: Plant Yggdrasil in the middle of the desert, Myria taking care of it which I'm sure she can manage. This staves off the desert, allow people to lead their own lives (there are already things like monsters under Myria's 'guidance' so she's not doing a very good job, tell her that) and have Yggdrasil who is present wherever plant life exists, to keep these things in check and make sure there is no abuse of such 'powers',

I actually chose this ending first because I didn't look at any spoilers. I looked at the Desert, I looked at the Dragon Zombie, the Elder, Balio, Sunder, and Mikba, and I thought "this fictional world would be better off without this power."
Can you honestly say it's a good thing that Ryu could turn into the Kaiser at any time? And we don't know for certain that Momo can make new mecha. The good end shows Caer Xhan collapsing, what a waste of tech. And why didn't Peco make a plant *anyway*?

You know, I wouldn't call this a bad ending, because nothing bad actually happens. Tyu, a threat to the world's balance and harmony, decides to let go of his power, lest he becomes the cause of a catastrophy.
Instead, he decides that it is better that the goddes continues to keep helping the world, protecting it from the desert and watching over the living creatures.
I would call this a pointless ending, because it means your whole journey was wasted, and even worse Teepo died without

Justification for his demise. For the sake of Teepo's memory alone and what he died for you should decide to keep your powers. Just imagine crossing the entire world, overcoming creatures no man has ever faced, meeting death close numerious times in search for an answer as to why the brood had to be exterminated. And the answer in a nutshell turns out to be "You are too dangerous to be allowed to live"

It's a bad ending. The world under Myria's control was unchanging like this ending said. Her babysitting the world the way she was, was impeding the progress of the world and it's inhabitants due to her insecurities. It had no true chance of thriving under such a static rule. So basically, Ryu is stuck with some pretentious bitch in a room with a dick in his hand with no vaseline for the rest of his life and the world is screwed even harder.

You make it sound as if the world would 100% change for the better. If you carefuly read the talk between Myria and your party, you will see that basically Myria manages a stalemate with the vast dangers that the dessert represents and with the humans and their craving for technology that will inevitably lead to wars and death.
Under Myria's rule the world wont change, but if she is to be gone, the world will have to face the dangers by itself.

And even on the odd chance that the people manage to survive their lives will be full of strife, because they will care only for their survival with no other goal possible. Even if they manage to harness any technology to support themselves, they will eventually create guns with which wars will be waged.
Myria simply takes the save bet - better the world dont change, rather than gamble their small chances to survive.

Survival was always the goal of humans so I don't see why you are bringing that up. If Ryu and his friends were strong enough to survive through the desert, as well as going through towns that had people living and surviving, what makes you think that they couldn't survive without Myria? She totally underestimates the abilities of a human beings survival skills and because of this insecurity, Teepo and most of the Brood ended up dying because of it.

Teepo bought into Myria's story enough to where he was willing to kill Ryu to "save the world" as she said. He tried to convince Ryu to freely give up his powers, but when Ryu refuses, he leaves Teepo with no other choice. And yes Teepo is dead.

Most final fantasy games relate to by name, so you don't become the character but you feel the emotions. Both are great games
