ofc you can run 3 OS in virtualbox when u only allow 512MB of ram per OS, i could do this on my windows machine n run 3,4 or 5 OS's its no big deal

I don't see any BIG feature either with Ubuntu or Virtualbox! u can do same EXACTLY in win using virutalpc or hyper-v.

Sure you can boot up all the Virtual Machines, but how usable are they?

Normal use, you can do what do you want to do without install them in separate hard disk partions.
