Google has a shit load more info on you than sites like facebook. People only put things on Facebook that they want people to know. People Google countless thousands of things without thinking about the fact that Google saves every single search. What if you're Googling dangerous groups of people just for info, not because you sympathize with them. I've spent time on ALF's website, does that make me look like a possible domestic terrorist? Google may not keep your info secret forever.

They are trying to know who your friends and contacts are. Anyone in your network, when suspected of a crime, is linked to you, and you become a person of interest, a potential co-conspirator, someone they may want to interview. They are creating a dossier on you. The Stasi in East Germany kept files on almost every citizen. I'm not saying we are there yet. I think we are heading in that direction.

Ok, I do think Bush is a monster and is way worse than Obama, but at least Bush was up front with it.
