I have the X-Caliber, and you get a few tunes with it, I got a 89 octane 90 octane 91octane tunes and one for racing gas. And when you plug it in it saves your factory specs, so you can get it back to stock.
I recently called ford, asking if getting this would void the warranty. Ford place #1 told me they would not touch it or install it, although it would not void the warranty. Ford place # 2 said "sure! we will put it in, but be warned your warranty will be void".
Confused? yes.
I have a 2009 v6 and want this intake as well as duals, but keep getting different stories.
I took my car to ford for a faulty window defroster, and I had my CAI, Intake, spacer, exhaust, and they didnt say anything about it, but I know if a problem is caused due to that part it will void the warranty.
yo dude its me again, just a few questions. intakes do add some power i know but it seems companies say they put out more power than they actualy do, jw what you think, hows the BBK been so far, same goes with the spacer some people say they greart and some they there paper weights. just lemmer know what your expierience has beens
BBK actually has a dyno sheet, and it says they got 17HP, and thats the most i have seen compared to other intakes, the spaces gives the car better throttle response Idk bout Hp cuz I didnt see a dyno sheet from them. The BBK is easy to install and it is also easy to take off the filter so you can clean it and oil it.
Honestly, you will notice a little more grunt with only the Intake, but with my setup it does alot more. But dont buy the Intake alone, save up and buy a Tuner and Intake combo you will notice a big difference then. Good luck with your stang, always nice to see someone appreciate the V6 like me.
Thanks man, I don't think I'm getting the intake anymore, I'm just gonna make my stang LOOK nice ha, not racing it any time soon. But anyways ya, the sixer stangs are quick despite the haters, and mine is 5 speed so it definitly can shut up a few haters now and then lol, peace man
Ha ha I know what you mean. Even tho i have an auto i have never lost a race man, there was this guy with an is300 lexus and I beat him by 2 cars, and hes like nice stang man, its quick. And then he said you won cuz u have a bigger engine, so I was like no bro its a V6, the look on this guys face was priceless lol.
haha, i raced an older model mustang GT and i smokedd it, I smoked a bmw 328i, a bmw 330i, i even raced the new nissan 370Z stop sign to stop sign and we tied, but he probably has i higher top speed. The only race ive lost was against a chipped BMW 335i and he was ahead of me not even by a half a car length. But i dont give a sh@!, that car has twin turbos and it was chipped. But wow I smoked a V8 mustang GT, thats all i ever wanted to prove. I wonder how i would do with a chip and intake?
all i got is a high flow intake, a straight through muffler, i use 91 gas so the A/F ratio is at 13 instead of the stock 13.4. and i tweaked with my throttle body so i get a better response. i want to get a CAI and tune next because the cold air intake will give my car more air to breathe and the tune will make my A/F ratio at 12 which is the perfect amount for a engine to perform at its best. FYI- Thats like running on 102 octane race gas for my A/F ratio to be 12!
yea Im saving up still for the intake and tune. another victory to my list. Ford F-150 Hardley Davidson Edition 5.4 L V8 Supercharged, didnt pass him fully but i got infront of him.;)
have you had the thing on a dyno where they use a bung on the exhaust before the cat or where the cat should be if youre running a o/r pipe? Do you have a widebband? if not then how do you know the a/f on it? Btw you're a/f ratio wouldnt really make a big power difference....its all in the tune...this is why V6 owners get so much crap...any who to the original poster nice car and have fun modding your car.
no you can figure it out using a live data logger connected to ur OBDII port, and yes a/f ratio does matter becuz u are increasing the amount of fuel that goes in per cubic inches of air , and thats basically what a tune does anyways + change ur shift points, rev limiter, cooling temperature ,and at what speeds different gears shud stay in which is great...
a tune doesnt change the a/f ratio on a car, my car reads a 14.8 at wot (perfect for a NA 3V) youre telling me that running a 13.0 is best for the motor? please stick to commenting on youtube videos instead of giving out tuning advice.
@MustangMan07 I know this is a year old, but your car running 14.8:1 ratio is running really really lean under WOT a stock car under WOT should be around 11:1 to 12:1
Nice stang man..can you feel/notice a power gain with the intake and spacer? Im thinking about getting that bbk CAI

Honestly, Yes, a little grunt. But save up your money and get the CAI/Tuner combo, then you will notice a big difference.

WE HAVE THE EXACT SAME SET UP.. I even have a video on my camera of this same thing.. it sounds and looks the same! I'm going with duals soon though.
