These amps are very impressive, when you crank em you start to really hear how nice they are. Very versatile. It's hard to tell the difference from the actual amp it's modeling in alot of cases....I've been able to replicate alot of different songs with this amp, you just have to have a little patience and experiment. Rock on.

greetings from across the pond. im torn between the JMD and new Line6 DT50. which one has a more organic tube feel? i'm a major tube snob but I do play some modeling amps also (an old Rocktron Replitone,Vox VT). I'm thinking for the money the JMD might be a better value?

Well there's no doubt that Rob is a great player. But I have to say that this amp sounds very solid state or very digital distortion. The nice tube driven harmonics are missing from the harmonic distortion that other Marshall all tube amps have. Rob will make anything sound sound good even a lame amp such as this. Rob's best sounds were with Orange Tube Amps.
@MrMeAndMyVideos there r 2 el34's in the power amp section...I still don't know exactly what I'm talking about with these hybrids but anyway to me it's something like having a tube stomp box in front of a digital amp...(someone correct me please if I'm wrong) so all the different model overdrive sounds use the tubes to make them sound like a real tube amp. ...this is 784 Euros here and I think it's too much....teh fender champ xd is 300 Euros and 15 watts but sounds much better to me...

I know its pretty lame but I'm using the ear plugs steve vai is endorsing and its kinda weird when i can hear my tone better with the plugs on. Hope you could emphasis on protecting those precious ears, maybe make your own chappers ear plugs?! rock on...

I was really just referring to how good they sound for how cheap the guitar is. You're right, youtube is not the best way to judge the sonic qualities of an instrument but still, you can hear enough to know it doesn't sound like garbage. 4 out of 6 of my guitars have aftermarket pups, I'm not stranger to that game.. I suppose it comes down o whatever makes ya happy!

Skoot it's a wicked tune that Chappers made, I think it's called Take Me. Very country based I think, and uses a hybrid picking technique that you gotta check out!
I just bought the all of tuition videos from Monkeylord's store. And to my suprise theres an awesome video called "Take Me - Hybrid Picking "which was really cheap and is in HD. Basically he shows you in great detail the techniques needed to accomplish this tune. It's actually a very good video and was well worth £2.50 only!
How it work is, you buy one for £2.50 and after paying with paypal you get an email with a link in that says download, and badda bing you got it immedately - I highly recommend getting all of them even the basic "Power Chords" where I nearly didn't buy it thinking come on, but I was actually shocked he explained some things that I had never even thought about, and nearly fell off my chair.

This amp is the same idea as the line 6 spider valve. Digital preamp with tube preamp. I bet they probably put in a 12ax7 somewhere in the preamp chain to maximize the tube appeal as well. Its sounds pretty nice on its own, I am more curious to hear it in a band mix, live!!! To see if this thing can cut the mustard.
so this thing has no preamp valves? Would have thought the breakup might not have been as suptle as the true valves themselves. How does it compare with the JVM in terms of value/money? :)
That's really impressive tone knowing the amp to be solid state and the pups to be ordinary "made in china" ones. I think you are the first person to show just how much the build quality of a guitar goes towards making it all sound good.
@SSJ2Killua Well I like tubes but I just prefer SS I use a line 6 spider 4 150 watt 2X12 ss amp and I absolutely love it, I'm looking into the Spider valve but I've just never needed anything that a SS couldnt give me ya know?

So what's the deal with the JMD? From what I understand it has output valves, but no preamp valves. Is that correct?

Rob, You may not think of it in this way but recently i went through pretty hard times and listening to breath got me through it. Your melodies and man when i listen to you play guitar like this it gives me hope, i'm very frightened for the future of music. PLease do your best to get into the charts so that i can turn on the radio with out being sick

Dude i actually just pissed my pants...you replied to my comment....I'm feeling much better now thank you :) it's just i couldn't get anyone to give me feedback on my music and i still can't but i kept getting in a rut. I LOVE breath, it's amazing. It's one of those song i can really feel under my skin. I can't stop playing the riff whenever i pick up a guitar

This amp is the same idea as the line 6 spider valve. Digital preamp with tube preamp. I bet they probably put in a 12ax7 somewhere in the preamp chain to maximize the tube appeal as well. Its sounds pretty nice on its own, I am more curious to hear it in a band mix, live!!! To see if this thing can cut the mustard.

That's really impressive tone knowing the amp to be solid state and the pups to be ordinary "made in china" ones. I think you are the first person to show just how much the build quality of a guitar goes towards making it all sound good.

its not solid state, its hybrid, i think its only the pre amp stage thats digital, and the power amp stage uses el34 tubes

Out of curiosity, why? The only people that I really know of who prefer SS either need pristine jazz cleans, or very tight metal distortion.

@SSJ2Killua Well I like tubes but I just prefer SS I use a line 6 spider 4 150 watt 2X12 ss amp and I absolutely love it, I'm looking into the Spider valve but I've just never needed anything that a SS couldnt give me ya know?

those chinese pickups are ok. it was a good idea to make it more affordable with cheap sweat shop pickups. :)
