nice job, man. though it is easier to do it with all onion knights, i had luneth as dragoon, arc as a ninja, refia as a devout and ingus as a black knight. the team worked for me, though most can't handle it because of the ninja's crappy defense. but, to each their own. and yes, onion knight is beast when you get him at the level for beastness.

I dunno then, I've completed IV, VII, VIII, Dissidia, A2, and all DS FF spin offs since then and nothing was as addictive as playing III (except Tactics A2) and it pisses me off so much that I'm never gonna face Iron Giant unless I buy another DS & FFIII cart to send myself the messages.

Still a great game though, and Cloud of Darkness was a worthy last boss. If you havn't played the DS version of FFIV yet, thats an amazing game too

You'd think Meteor would do at least 3000+ if not more in damage on your party. Square kinda killed Meteor until FFIV where depending on Rydia's magic power could do 9999 on the enemies.

personaly, i dislike the onion knight, they take forever to level up, but when they are, they are one of (if not the most) broken job classes in the game

@raylegend33 Then... don't level up as them? level up as something else and switch to them after? the whole point of the job system is that your stats are fixed according to your job and the only thing that changes is your HP because your HP grows based on your stats, and like I said, the stats are based on the character class. Aside from all that, by the time the onion knight actually becomes useful, any class is broken as far as the regular game is concerned.

Like in this video, your going to have to have a strong party because the iron giant is lvl 81 and has 199,999 Hp to be exact but the award is real good and you can fight him as many times as you like. If you dont want to lvl up an Onion Knight. Use a Viking to take all the damage. A bard because it will do a lot of damage and a ninja that will throw shurikens. Also a devout for healing.

For the ??? Dungeon Send 7 mail's through wi-fi. Send a bunch of letters to the 4 old mens and reveice ALL FOUR letters from them. Then do the same to Alus. Go to the floating continent with your Nautilus, but don't enter. From here, fly to the east. About half-way between the floating continent and Dalg Continent, you will see a shadow in the water. This is the place were looking for! Dive underwater and you will find a patch of sea weeds. Enter.

To get the Onion Knight, send 7 mail's to a friend through wi-fi. You can send 7 to 1 person and receiving letters dosn't do anything. Once you send 7 letters, you can do all the side quests. Send messages to Toppapa till he sends a message back saying the kids are in danger. Go to Toppapa, and he will say to go to the Altar Cave. Go save the kids and you get the job. You can only obtain this job after the Wind Crystal. Also the job is useless if your lvl is lower than 90.

You mean throughout every game? Flare isn't that good compared to spells that hit all characters (exception: FFI). Meteor is the best spell in FFIV, but it is fairly weak in other games compared to spells like Ultima (FFVI). In later games (Read: FFX), offensive magic is seldom used because the damage calculator ridiculously favors damage done by offensive attacks... and only one spell (Ultima) hits all enemies at once...

As for FFIII, your right... both flare and meteor are powerful...

Well, you can't raise your stats to 99 without being an onion knight because stats are fixed numbers based on your class and level. excluding your HP of course. your HP is determined by a stat, but there are only 2 classes suited to doing that, the best one being the black belt. So, you can never have maxed stats, but you can have max HP without ever being an onion knight. in fact, you HAVE to avoid onion knights anyway because they're assy til the last few levels.

Yes, onion knights do suck until about standard level 95... as far as I remember, gaining standard levels affect all stats, while gaining job levels has an affect on how much each stat increases over time (also considering, as you say, what job you have)... I thought I could exploit this, but what you say certainly makes sense. Thanks.

Good thing your online. simple to solo him, pick up a onion knight, throw it in the back row, equip two onion shields, and any other best armour you have. kick off with protect, and just keep flaring. elixer when needed. If your doing it right, he should only do 100, max, with a normal attack, 0 with meteo, and 1300-1600 with swipe.

Judhifen, obtain one persons friend code, and have them get yours. just send a few messages back and forth, then message topapa a few times, and you should have the quest very easily and quickly. And cheez whizz, the only thing their magic is for is protect, haste, flare, arise and curaja. they are better at melee, since the 9999 is not the limit.

i hated this game...everything about it was terrible. story was way too simple (crystals are fucked up, bad guy you apparently have to wtfpwn, meet him at the last second etc) like in FF 1-2, music wasnt good, didnt give a shit bout the characters, and it was WAYYYYYYYY too easy. thank god i got FF 6 advance after this or I might've hated FF.

I'd rather play ff6 or 7 with its fun combat, amazing story, and wonderful music then a game that makes you grind for 3hrs to kill that next boss to advance a plot worse then ninja gaiden's.

The original FF were for the first nintendo. THey play A LOT on simplicity. They should have never remodeled this game, because it takes the simplicity away and makes the res of the game dumb.

12 is the only one I never played. From what I know about it is that it is alot like a mix between9 and 10. I didn't particularly enjoy 9 or 10; I think 6 and 8 are the best two of the series, but I think 7 has an amazing cast of characters, particularly sephoroth, Vincent, Cloud and those in the turks.

This game never came out for NES outside of japan- this is the first release of it, same with FFV. And I did like FF5, but like all the 2d into 3d ports square is doing, they're somehow ruining the feel of the game for me. I prefer the classic 2d to be 2d.
